We come before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, lifting up your heartfelt request regarding this financial burden and the care of the child entrusted to you. It is clear you are seeking God’s provision and mercy in a time of great need, and we join you in earnest prayer, trusting in His sovereignty over all things—including finances, authorities, and the well-being of His children.
First, we want to encourage you with the truth of Scripture: **"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"** (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). Your request is before the Lord, and He hears you. He is the God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10) and is well able to move the hearts of those in authority to show favor or provide a way where there seems to be none.

Your focus on providing for the child in your care is commendable, and we pray that God will honor your faithfulness as you seek His Kingdom above all else.
That said, we must also address something important: in your request, the name of Jesus was not invoked. Scripture is clear that we have no access to the Father except through Jesus Christ, our Mediator. **"Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). It is only through this relationship with Christ that we can boldly approach the throne of grace and find help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
Now, let us pray together for your situation:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one before You, asking for Your divine intervention in their financial struggles. You are the God who provides, the One who turns hearts like rivers of water (Proverbs 21:1). We ask that You soften the hearts of those in the municipality so that they would be willing to show mercy, whether through writing off this debt or creating a manageable arrangement for repayment. Lord, You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20), and we trust You to make a way where there seems to be no way.

We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or despair that may be trying to take hold in this situation. **"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"** (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). We declare that You, Lord, are their Provider, their Jehovah Jireh, and that You will not abandon them.
Finally, Father, if there is any area of their life that is not aligned with Your will—whether in finances, stewardship, or trust in You—reveal it to them and grant them the grace to repent and walk in obedience. May this trial draw them closer to You and deepen their reliance on Your faithfulness.
We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
