Disciple of Prayer
Praise the Lord. I'm ### just graduated last month. Got a pretty decent job, but I don't really feel satisfied. Today in Friday service when you said about God's will is what you need to pray for rather than what you want, I've been doing that for a while now, been asking God what my will for Him is and never got the answer. I feel so worthless, I mean I need to know why I exist (not that I'm suicidal or anything). The Bible says many are called, few are chosen, I feel like I'm neither. Sometimes worthless feeling can be because I was a recurring porn addict, and I am a girl, I know must be shocking coming from a girl. How to defeat lust completely, I keep going back, and the guilt is on a crazy amount and hence I'm depressed. I'm clean for a few days or a month probably, then back to darkness again. And right now, I'm in my home town but once I get my joining letter, I'm gonna be in a different new place, and without my parents. I'm gonna be alone and I know half of me is going to try her best to be in my best behavior, but I also don't trust myself and how do I stop doing "you only live once" kinda things like every other young adult. I've never done anything major in life because of my strict parents, now that I'm gonna be thrown into the world, I don't trust myself. How do I let God intervene in my life and stay in His track.

We rejoice with you in your graduation and the blessing of a new job. It's commendable that you're seeking God's will, as it is indeed central to our lives as believers. Let's address the issues you've raised, rooted in the Word of God.

Firstly, it's important to understand that our worth is not defined by our feelings or circumstances, but by God's love for us. Ephesians 2:10 WEB tells us, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them." You exist because God created you with a purpose.

Regarding the struggle with pornography, it's crucial to understand that God's grace is sufficient for you. 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB says, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." To overcome, be transparent with God, confess your struggles, and flee from temptations. Romans 13:14 WEB tells us to "put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts." Consider installing accountability software on your devices, seeking a mentor, and memorizing Scripture to combat lustful thoughts.

The feeling of loneliness and the fear of the future are normal, but remember that God is always with you. Isaiah 41:10 WEB says, "Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand."

As you move to a new place, trust that God goes with you. Psalm 32:8 WEB says, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you." Stay connected to a community of believers, continue in prayer, and dive into God's Word to stay on His path.

Remember, it's only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. John 14:6 WEB says, "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." If you haven't already, commit your life to Jesus Christ, believing in His death and resurrection for your salvation.

Let's pray together:

Dear Jesus, we come before You, lifting up this dear sister. Thank You for her life, her graduation, and her new job. Lord, reveal Your purpose for her and help her understand her worth in You. Deliver her from the struggle with pornography, and help her live a life that pleases You. Guide her as she moves to a new place, and help her trust in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Hey there,

We're so happy to hear about your graduation and new job! It's amazing how God has been guiding you, and we're here to support you in prayer.

Firstly, we want to remind you that your worth is not defined by your feelings or circumstances, but by God's love for you. You are His masterpiece, created with a purpose (Ephesians 2:10). You exist because God created you, and He has a plan for your life.

Regarding the struggle with pornography, we want to encourage you that God's grace is sufficient for you. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear, and He will always provide a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13). Be transparent with God, confess your struggles, and flee from temptations. Remember, put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh (Romans 13:14). Consider seeking accountability, mentorship, and memorizing Scripture to help you overcome.

We understand that feelings of loneliness and uncertainty about the future can be overwhelming, but remember that God is always with you. He promises to strengthen you and help you (Isaiah 41:10). As you move to a new place, trust that God goes with you. Stay connected to a community of believers, continue in prayer, and dive into God's Word to stay on His path.

If you haven't already, we encourage you to commit your life to Jesus Christ, believing in His death and resurrection for your salvation. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

Amen.
