Need a peaceful holiday season

This year, it will.be only me and my son for the holidays (he's a child) and I'm extremely thankful but the last two years have been heartbreaking and not peaceful or joyful (the holidays)
After going no contact with my family I'm looking forward to a blessed and peaceful holiday season. Me and my son have suffered tremendously and had loss the last couple of years and some horrible truths about about my family and how they feel about us and treat us have come out.
Please pray for closeness, kindness, and people sent by God to help us this holiday season along with destiny helpers. Please pray for divine opportunities and blessings to come out way.


Also, my son has a special relationship with God. Please pray that he always has this closeness and special ability to hear God and he never strays or loses his relationship with God.
Please pray that God always keeps him close and protects his innocence, peace, heart, mind and purpose.

Please also pray for me that I'm still having intrusive thoughts that God will stop hearing from me, my prayers, punish me if I watch my favorite show 911 and He will take away blessings or provision. I also have intrusive thoughts that if I mess up it do anything wrong God will stop hearing my prayers, punish me or take away blessings

We have read your request and we join with you in thanking God for the gift of your son and for the hope you have for a peaceful and blessed holiday season together. We understand how heartbreaking the last two years have been, and how painful it is when difficult truths about family come to light. The Lord sees what you and your son have suffered and He draws near to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. We pray that this season will be marked not by the pain of the past but by the presence of God in your home.

We pray for the closeness and kindness you asked for, and for the divine helpers and destiny helpers you mentioned. We ask God to send godly people across your path who will encourage you, support you and your son, and show you His love in practical ways. We pray for divine opportunities and blessings to come your way, for open doors that no man can shut, and for provision from His hand. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Philippians 4:19 says our God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. We ask Him to fill your home with peace that passes all understanding, as Philippians 4:6-7 promises, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We also lift up your precious son. We thank God for the special relationship he has with the Lord. Jesus said in Matthew 19:14 Allow the little children to come to me, and don't forbid them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these. We pray that the Lord will keep your son close all the days of his life, that he will continue to hear God's voice clearly, grow in wisdom and stature, and never stray from the path of truth. We pray as Isaiah 54:13 promises, that all his children will be taught by Yahweh and great will be his peace. We ask God to protect his innocence, his peace, his heart, his mind and his purpose, to guard him as the apple of His eye and to hide him under the shadow of His wings. We pray Proverbs 22:6 over him, that as you train him in the way he should go, when he is old he will not depart from it.

We want to gently and lovingly address the intrusive thoughts you shared, because we care for you and we want you to walk in freedom. Those thoughts that God will stop hearing your prayers, punish you for watching your favorite show, or take away blessings and provision if you mess up or do anything wrong, those thoughts are not from God. We rebuke that lie in Jesus name. Our God is not waiting to punish you for small failures. He is a loving Father full of mercy and grace. 2 Timothy 1:7 says God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 1 John 4:18 says perfect love casts out fear, because fear is connected with punishment. Romans 8:1 declares There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. When we fail, we do not lose His love or His ear. 1 John 1:9 says If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Psalm 34:15 says Yahweh's eyes are toward the righteous, and his ears listen to their cry. He always hears the prayers of His children.

We encourage you to take every intrusive thought captive to the obedience of Christ as 2 Corinthians 10:5 teaches, and to replace those fears with truth. God does not measure your worth by perfect performance. He loves you because you are His. Watching a television show does not cause Him to withdraw His blessings. We do encourage you to guard what you watch with discernment and to think on whatever is true, honorable and pure as Philippians 4:8 teaches, but we assure you that His provision and His listening ear are not so fragile. His love is steadfast and His mercies are new every morning.

We also noticed your request speaks of God but does not mention Jesus, and we must lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and assurance that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is through His name that we pray and are heard.

We also want to acknowledge your decision to go no contact with your family. We understand this comes after tremendous hurt and we pray God gives you wisdom and healing. Romans 12:18 says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. We encourage you to continue to walk in forgiveness as Ephesians 4:32 teaches, forgiving as God in Christ forgave you, even while maintaining healthy boundaries that protect you and your son and allow peace in your home. We pray God heals the wounds that remain and guards your heart from bitterness.

So together we pray.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift this dear mother and her son to You. We thank You for them. We ask You to fill their home this holiday season with Your tangible peace, joy, and closeness. Let this be a season of healing and new memories made in Your presence. Send helpers, kind and godly people, to surround them with support and encouragement. Open doors of divine opportunity and pour out blessings and provision upon them according to Your riches in glory. Protect this young boy, keep his heart tender toward You, let him always hear Your voice and walk in his God given purpose, guard his innocence, mind, and heart from all harm and confusion. For his mother, we rebuke every spirit of fear, condemnation, and intrusive thought, and we ask You to renew her mind with Your perfect love and truth. Assure her that You hear every prayer, that You do not punish her harshly for mistakes, and that Your love is unfailing. Help her to rest in grace and to know that through Jesus she is fully accepted, heard, and loved. Draw them both closer to Jesus and keep them in Your perfect peace as they trust in You. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Thankfulness for your son alongside the grief of the last two years and the pain of stepping away from family is a lot to hold, and we are grateful you shared it so honestly. Wanting a peaceful, kind holiday for just the two of you makes complete sense.

We join you in asking God for closeness between you and your son and for trustworthy people to come alongside you both. Holidays often bring extra pressure to feel joyful or to make everything perfect, and that pressure can make disappointment heavier. It can help to plan the season on a smaller, more sustainable level, one or two simple traditions you both enjoy, a church gathering, inviting a friend for a meal, rather than trying to make up for hard years all at once. That kind of simplicity often leaves more room for real rest and kindness to emerge.

We also hear how exhausting those intrusive thoughts have been, the fear that watching a show you enjoy or making a mistake will cause God to stop listening or to take away provision. That kind of looping, fearful thinking is very common when anxiety is high, and it does not reflect how God sees you. He is not waiting to punish you over a small choice. When those thoughts come, it can help to gently name them as intrusive thoughts, bring them honestly to God as they are, and talk them through with a trusted pastor or counselor. If they continue to feel overwhelming, please consider reaching out to a counselor or medical professional alongside prayer. You do not have to sort this alone.

Father, we thank You for this mom and her son and the love they share. Surround them with Your peace this holiday season, guard his heart, mind and innocence and keep nurturing his closeness with You, and guard her mind with Your kindness and truth. Provide helpful people nearby, quiet moments of joy together, and rest from fear. Lead them gently day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have brought your sorrows and your hopes before the Lord in prayer, thanking Him with you for the mercy that you and your son are kept and that you can look toward this season with desire for peace after much heartbreak and loss.

We have prayed that the God whose thoughts toward His people are thoughts of peace will make this holiday season to be indeed peaceful and joyful for you both. How precious are His thoughts unto us, and how great is the sum of them, more than can be numbered, constant and kind and tender and wise. His thoughts are not as our thoughts, for our thoughts are often fearful and our ways frail, but His thoughts are gracious and perfect and practical, for with Him to will is to do. We have asked Him to draw near to you in that closeness you have sought, to show you kindness through people sent by His own hand, to provide helpers and divine opportunities and blessings according to His abundant grace. He knows the loneliness that comes with being apart from family and the ache of truths that have wounded you, and we have asked Him to be your refuge and your companion, to restore the consciousness of His presence as you awake each day.

For your son we have prayed with thanksgiving for his tender walk with the Lord. We have asked that the Lord who has taught him from his youth will keep him as His pupil all his life, that he may continue to hear the Shepherd's voice and never stray from it, that his innocence and peace and heart and mind and purpose would be guarded by the Lord Himself. May he be kept from the devices of this world and may he grow in the nurture of grace, declaring the wondrous works of God as he goes.

For you we have prayed concerning the intrusive thoughts that trouble you, the fear that God will stop hearing your prayers or punish you or take away provision if you watch a show or if you fail in any way. Hear what the Word teaches, that God's thoughts of pardon are far above our thoughts. We think in terms of measure and merit, but His way is free grace and grace for grace. If His favor depended upon our perfect performance we could never stand, but it is given of grace, received through grace, and understood by grace. There is nothing in us which can admit a boastful thought, and there is nothing in our failures that can undo His sovereign love when we are in Christ. The Lord does not deal with His children as a harsh judge watching to withdraw blessing for every misstep. His thoughts toward you are peace, and His grace reigns unto eternal life, not by works but by His own great self sacrifice. When such fears arise, remember that His grace has made you to pray at all, and that He hears not because you have earned a hearing but because Christ has opened the way. Bring those thoughts into captivity and lay hold by faith upon God's thoughts, which are love and pity and tenderness.

We have prayed that the Lord will give you rest from these fears, that you will know His Word to be precious and His actions which spring from His thoughts to be precious also, that you will find confidence not in your own steadiness but in His everlasting thoughts of good toward you. May you be enabled to trust and not be afraid, believing that He who has begun a good work will keep you and your son, and that every gift of His grace is solid and lasting.

May the Lord grant you a quiet and blessed season, a home filled with His peace, provision for every need, and the sure sense that you are heard and loved and kept.

Your request has been heard and I want to thank you for sharing so honestly about this painful season. It is understandable to long for peace and joy after two heartbreaking holiday seasons, and to feel both thankful for your son and weighed down by loss and by the painful truths that have come to light about your family. Choosing distance from family is often a difficult and grievous decision, and God sees the suffering you and your son have endured.

I join you in prayer for this holiday season, that God would make it truly peaceful and blessed for you both. I pray that He will draw you and your son close to each other and close to Himself, that He will surround you with kindness, and that He will send people to help you, encourage you, and show you His care in practical ways. I pray that He will open doors for good opportunities and provide for your needs according to His grace, and that your home will be filled with the quiet peace that comes from His presence.

I also pray for your son as you asked. What a gift that he has a tender heart toward God and a sensitivity to hear Him. I pray that the Lord will keep him near, guard his innocence and peace, protect his heart and mind, and guide him in the purpose God has for his life. May his love for Jesus grow deeper year by year, and may the Lord keep him from straying, holding him fast even as he grows. Jesus said to let the little children come to Him, and He is faithful to keep those who belong to Him.

For the intrusive thoughts you described, I want to speak clearly and gently from Scripture. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Fear dissolves love and brings torment, but love from God builds confidence that we can cry Abba, Father to Him. Where grace is, there is forgiveness, and where forgiveness is, punishment is removed, because righteousness comes through faith in Christ, not through our perfect performance.

God does not listen to your prayers only when you get everything right, and He does not take away His blessings or provision because you watched a television show or because you had a bad thought. He is merciful and ready to help. If watching a particular show troubles your conscience, it is good to bring that to the Lord and ask for wisdom about what is helpful for your mind and heart, and to choose what is pure and builds you up. But intrusive, fearful thoughts that say God will stop hearing you, punish you, or withdraw His care if you make any mistake are not His voice. He hears you because you belong to Christ, and Christ has borne the punishment for sin so that you can come to God with confidence.

This does not mean we take sin lightly. Scripture teaches us to approach God with a clean conscience, to turn from sin and give thanks for the great mercy we have been given. The healthy awareness that God is holy should make us reverent and keep us from clinging to sin, but it should not keep us in constant dread that He is waiting to strike us. When we do sin, as we all do, we can confess it and receive His mercy, trusting that He is faithful to forgive.

If these intrusive thoughts continue to press on you, please consider sharing them with a trusted pastor or a biblical counselor, and if needed a professional counselor who understands intrusive thoughts, so you are not carrying this alone. Keep bringing your prayers to God honestly, even when the fearful thoughts come. Read Scripture that reminds you of His character, like Psalm 103, Romans 8, and 1 John 4, and remember that perfect love casts out fear.

Let me pray for you now.

Father in heaven, I thank You for this mother and her son. You see their loss and their pain, and You know their longing for peace. I ask that You would fill their home this holiday season with Your peace that passes understanding, with closeness to each other and to You, and with kind people whom You send to support them. Provide for their needs and lead them to the good opportunities You have prepared.

Keep this young boy close to You. Protect his heart, his mind, his innocence and his joy. Let his faith grow strong and keep him all the days of his life.

And for his mother, Lord, quiet the intrusive and fearful thoughts. Remind her that You hear her prayers because of Jesus, not because she is flawless. Teach her to hear Your voice of love and truth, to rest in Your grace, and to walk in confidence as Your daughter. Help her to discern what is good for her to watch and do, and to live not in fear but in love and soundness of mind. Let her know deeply that You are merciful, that You forgive when we confess, and that nothing can separate her from Your love in Christ.
