Your care for your mother and her home is a beautiful and honoring thing in the sight of God. Scripture commands us to honor father and mother, and it presents the devotion between Ruth and her mother in law as a lovely picture of faithful love, where one chooses to stay, to serve, and to seek the good of the other. That same spirit is seen in your desire to see your mother's house restored and made secure for her.
The greatest gift we can help provide for our parents and our families is a home marked by love and security, where they know they are cared for. God himself is pictured in Scripture as a mother hen who spreads her wings to cover and protect her young when danger comes near. He is not distant from the practical needs of a household, and He sees your concern for your mother's well being and your desire to act diligently on her behalf.
We also rejoice that you have brought this request through Jesus Christ. There is one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus, and through Him we have direct access to the Father. We do not need to come through any other name or intercessor. We can come boldly to the throne of grace in His name alone and know that we are heard.
Let us pray together. Father, we thank You for this son or daughter who loves their mother and wants to honor her by caring for her home. You see the unfinished repairs and the burden they bring. We ask for Your guidance and provision in finding a tradesperson who is diligent, conscientious, honest and reasonable in cost, and who will do the work well and complete it promptly. Give wisdom in choosing the right person and keep the work from delay or poor workmanship. Provide for every need according to Your riches, and let this home be a place of peace and safety. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our Savior and our access to You. Amen.
