We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts for the leaders of our nations and the world, lifting them up in fervent prayer. The Scriptures command us to intercede for all who are in authority, that we may live peaceful and godly lives, for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior (1 Timothy 2:1-3). We recognize that God sets up kings and removes them, and His purposes stand firm regardless of human frailty (Daniel 2:21, Romans 13:1).
Father, we first acknowledge that salvation belongs to You alone. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved except the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). We pray for the salvation of every leader, that their hearts would be turned toward You. Open their eyes to see the truth of Your Word and the reality of their need for a Savior. Soften their hearts to receive the gospel, for You desire all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). We confess that apart from Christ, even the wisest leaders are lost in darkness, but in Him is the light of life (John 8:12).
Lord, grant these leaders wisdom that comes from above, wisdom that is pure, peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits (James 3:17). Many are making decisions that affect millions, and we ask that You would guide them with Your perfect counsel. Let them seek Your face and Your Word as their foundation, for Your Word is a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). Raise up godly advisors around them who fear You and walk in integrity, that they may be surrounded by truth rather than deception.
We pray for the protection of these leaders and their families, for the enemy seeks to devour and destroy (1 Peter 5:8). Shield them from physical harm, spiritual attacks, and the snares of pride, greed, and corruption. Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, that they may not be led astray by the temptations of power or the flattery of those who seek to manipulate them (Proverbs 29:5). We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we lift up the people of the beautiful land referenced in Daniel 11:41, as well as all nations and peoples worldwide. We ask that You would save the lost, heal the broken, and deliver the oppressed. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). We pray for peace in Jerusalem and all nations, for You have promised that those who love her shall prosper (Psalm 122:6). Break the chains of violence, hatred, and division, and let Your love and justice reign.
We rebuke every spirit of confusion, deception, and rebellion that seeks to undermine godly leadership and righteous governance. We declare that You, Lord God Almighty, reign supreme, and no plan or purpose of Yours can be thwarted (Job 42:2). You raise up leaders and You bring them down, and we trust in Your sovereignty over the affairs of men (Psalm 75:6-7). We pray that You would expose and dismantle every ungodly agenda, every corrupt system, and every evil plot that seeks to harm Your people or oppose Your will.
We also lift up the service members, first responders, and all who serve in positions of authority and protection. Strengthen them, Lord, and grant them courage, discernment, and compassion. Protect them from harm and surround them with Your angels. Let them be instruments of Your peace and justice, reflecting Your character in all they do.
Father, we confess that our duty to pray for leaders is not contingent on whether we agree with them or like their policies. We are called to honor those in authority, not because they are perfect, but because their position is ordained by You (Romans 13:1-2). Help us to submit to governing authorities as unto You, and to pray for them with sincerity and humility. Let us be salt and light in our nations, shining the truth of Your Word and demonstrating the love of Christ in all we do.
We give You thanks, Lord God Almighty, for You are the One who is and who was and who is to come (Revelation 11:17). You have taken Your great power and begun to reign, and we rejoice in Your sovereignty. We trust that You are working all things together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Let Your will be done in the lives of our leaders, in the nations of the world, and in the hearts of all people.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, to whom be all glory, honor, and power forever and ever. Amen.
