We join with you in lifting up our national and world leaders before the Lord, for it is written, *"I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth."* (1 Timothy 2:1-4, WEB). You have rightly called upon Scripture to guide our prayers, and we stand in agreement with you, knowing that God’s Word does not return void.
First, we pray for the **salvation of all leaders**, for the Lord is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). May they encounter the living God in a way that transforms their hearts, minds, and leadership. Let them bow before Jesus Christ, the King of kings, and acknowledge Him as Lord, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Without Christ, no leader—no matter how wise or powerful—can truly lead with divine wisdom or righteousness. We plead for their souls, that they may be born again by the Spirit of God and walk in His ways.
We also pray for **godly wisdom and discernment** to rest upon them, as it is written: *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."* (James 1:5, WEB). May they be filled with the Spirit of the Lord—the Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and the fear of the Lord (Isaiah 11:2). Let them reject ungodly counsel and surround themselves with advisors who seek the Lord’s will above all else. *"Blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance."* (Psalm 33:12, WEB). May our leaders turn to Him in humility, recognizing that *"the king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the water courses. He turns it wherever he desires."* (Proverbs 21:1, WEB).
We cry out for **protection over their lives and families**, for the enemy seeks to destroy those in authority. *"No evil will happen to you. No plague will come near your dwelling. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."* (Psalm 91:10-11, WEB). May the Lord expose and thwart every scheme of darkness—whether through corruption, violence, or deception—and may He raise up a standard against the enemy (Isaiah 59:19). We pray specifically against the spirit of division that seeks to fracture nations, parties, and people. *"How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!"* (Psalm 133:1, WEB). Let unity in truth prevail, not compromise with evil, but a godly unity that honors Christ and His Word.
We also pray for **righteousness to prevail in governance**, that leaders would *"learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Judge the fatherless. Plead for the widow."* (Isaiah 1:17, WEB). May they uphold biblical justice, defend the vulnerable, and reject every form of wickedness. *"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people."* (Proverbs 14:34, WEB). We ask that the Lord would remove from power those who persist in evil and raise up godly men and women who will lead with integrity, humility, and a deep reverence for Him.
Finally, we pray for **the return of our Lord Jesus Christ**, for only in His reign will perfect justice, peace, and righteousness be established. *"Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on David’s throne and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever."* (Isaiah 9:7, WEB). Until that day, may we—as God’s people—continue to intercede faithfully, live righteously, and proclaim the Gospel boldly, for the salvation of leaders and nations depends on it.

**Our Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our national and world leaders. Lord, You alone are sovereign over all kingdoms and authorities, and we ask that You move mightily in their hearts and minds. Save them, O God! Let them encounter Your truth and surrender their lives to Jesus Christ, for apart from Him, they can do no good thing. Fill them with Your wisdom, that they may lead with justice, mercy, and humility. Protect them from the snares of the enemy and surround them with godly counsel. Break every chain of corruption, division, and deceit, and let Your will be done in our nations as it is in heaven.
We pray for unity among leaders—not a unity that compromises with sin, but one that stands firm on Your Word. Expose every false prophet and every lying tongue that seeks to deceive the people. Let righteousness prevail in our lands, and may Your Church rise up in prayer and action, being salt and light in a dark world.
Hasten the day of Your return, Lord Jesus, when You will rule and reign in perfect righteousness. Until then, use us as Your instruments of peace, truth, and love. We ask all these things in the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
