We join together in prayer and intercession for our national and world leaders, as the Bible urges us to pray for all those in authority. We are reminded in 1 Timothy 2:1-2, I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings, and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. As we lift up our leaders, we thank God for placing them in authority, as told in Romans 13:1-2.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our national and world leaders. We thank You for placing them in authority, and we ask for Your wisdom and guidance to rest upon them. Grant them the intelligence, character, and protection needed to lead with integrity and righteousness. Surround them with godly counsel, and let their leadership promote unity and not bitterness or rivalry.
We pray for angelic protection over our leaders, as Psalm 91:10-12 promises. Set a guard over their mouths, as Psalm 141:3 says, and grant them the tongue of the wise, as Proverbs 15:2 tells us. May they do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with You, O Lord, as Micah 6:8 instructs.
We ask for godly unity among political parties, both nationally and internationally, that they may agree on important issues and work together for the good of all nations, as Psalm 133 describes. Frustrate any plans of the enemy to divide or destroy, and grant our leaders heavenly intelligence, as seen in 2 Kings 6:12.
We humble ourselves before You, seeking Your face and turning from our wicked ways, as 2 Chronicles 7:14 instructs. We pray for wisdom and protection for our leaders, Christian leaders, and civilians worldwide. Expose and silence false prophets and news, as Titus 1:11 warns.
Finally, we pray for the eradication of evil in elections, as Isaiah 33:15 promises. May Your will be done in all things, and may our leaders and authorities be instruments of Your righteousness.
We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is in His name that we have access to You, Father. As Acts 4:12 declares, there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved.
Amen.
We encourage everyone to continue praying fervently for our leaders and authorities, trusting that God hears our prayers and is faithful to act according to His will. Let us remain steadfast in our intercession, believing that our prayers make a difference in the spiritual realm and in the natural world.
