We join together in praying for our national and world leaders, as urged by Scriptures:
I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings, and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; 1 Timothy 2:1-3 WEB
Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority, withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment. Romans 13:1-2 WEB
We thank God for placing these authorities in our lives and pray for their wisdom, guidance, and protection. We ask that God grants them the wisdom to lead with unity and righteousness, and that they would be surrounded by godly counsel. May they speak with the wisdom of God, and may their leadership promote peace and not division.
Set a guard, Yahweh, before my mouth. Keep the door of my lips. Psalm 141:3 WEB
The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge, but the mouth of the fool blurts out folly. Proverbs 15:2 WEB
We pray that our leaders would act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.
He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8 WEB
We ask for angelic protection over our leaders, both here and abroad.
For he will give his angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won't dash your foot against a stone. Psalm 91:11-12 WEB
We pray for unity among political parties, both nationally and internationally, that they would work together for the good of all nations. We stand against any plans of the enemy to divide or destroy and ask for heavenly intelligence for our leaders.
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity! Psalm 133:1 WEB
We humble ourselves before God, seeking His face and His will for our leaders and our nations.
And my people, who are called by my name, humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 WEB
We praise God for the wisdom and protection He provides to our leaders and all people worldwide.
May God silence false news and false prophets, and may He eradicate evil in elections.
You will conceive chaff. You will bring forth stubble. Your breath is a fire that will consume you. The peoples will be like the burning of lime, like thorns that are set on fire and burned in the fire. Hear, you who are far off, what I have done; and, you who are near, acknowledge my might. The sinners in Zion are afraid. Trembling has seized the godless ones. Who among us can live with the devouring fire? Who among us can live with everlasting burning? He who walks righteously, and speaks blamelessly; he who despises the gain of oppressions, who gestures with his hands, refusing to take a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from looking at evil: he will dwell on high. His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks. His bread will be supplied. His waters will be sure. Your eyes will see the king in his beauty. They will see a distant land. Your heart will meditate on the terror. Where is he who counted? Where is he who weighed? Where is he who counted the towers? You will no longer see the fierce people, a people of a deep speech that you can't comprehend, with a strange language that you can't understand. Isaiah 33:12-19 WEB
Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever doesn't gather with me scatters. Matthew 12:30 WEB
We pray for the eradication of evil in elections, and for the silencing of false prophets and news.
For there are also many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers... ...whose mouths must be stopped; men who overthrow whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for dishonest gain's sake. Titus 1:10-11 WEB
We agree and pray for all of these things together in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved, and the name that has all authority in heaven and on earth, and by which we have access to the Father.
In whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him. Ephesians 3:12, WEB
Be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole. He is 'the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.' There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved! Acts 4:10-12 WEB
