We join you in this humble and honest confession before the Lord and we thank you for sharing your heart so openly. To recognize when we have not been kind or grateful and to bring it to God in sorrow is pleasing to Him, for He desires a broken and contrite heart.
The Scripture assures us If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. We do not have to earn His forgiveness, it is freely given through Jesus. We also want to gently encourage you that while you said Lord, we have access to the Father only through the name of Jesus Christ. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by trusting in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that our prayer is heard and we are forgiven. If you have not already, we encourage you to call upon His name and put your faith fully in Him.
We also hear you when you share that you are bipolar. We want you to know this diagnosis does not define you and it does not separate you from the love of God. You are fearfully and wonderfully made and He has compassion on our frailty. Like a father pities his children, so Yahweh pities those who fear him. For he knows how we are made. He remembers that we are dust Psalm 103:13-14. His mercies are new every morning and His grace is sufficient for you, for His power is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9 and Lamentations 3:22-23. We encourage you to continue to seek wise support, both spiritual and medical, and to show yourself grace as God shows you grace, while trusting Him for strength and stability each day.
God is calling you, as He calls all of us, to grow in kindness and thankfulness. We all fall short in this. The Lord instructs us to Be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32 and In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you 1 Thessalonians 5:18. A grateful heart and kind words are not natural to our flesh, they are fruit of His Spirit working in us as we daily surrender to Him. Do not be discouraged by your failures, but keep turning to Him.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. Lord we thank You that they have come with a repentant heart, acknowledging unkindness and ungratefulness. We ask You to forgive them according to Your mercy and to cleanse them from all unrighteousness. Help them to truly know the assurance of forgiveness through the blood of Jesus. Father, we ask You to fill their heart with Your love so that kindness may flow more freely, and give them a renewed spirit of thankfulness. Teach them to remember all Your benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3. Lord we also pray for their struggle with bipolar disorder. Bring peace to their mind and emotions, steady them in times of highs and lows, and let them experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding guarding their heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. Surround them with supportive people, wise counsel, and help, and remind them daily that they are loved, valued, and held by You. We pray they will grow in knowing Jesus more deeply and rest in His grace. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to keep confessing quickly when you stumble, to practice daily thanksgiving even for small mercies, and to speak kindly even when it is difficult, trusting God to help you. He is patient with you and He is faithfully working in you.

Thank you for sharing this so honestly with us. It takes humility to say I'm not always nice or grateful and to bring that to the Lord, and we want you to know He hears that kind of prayer.

There is forgiveness with God, even for one who feels not very nice and not very grateful, and your honest confession is itself a hopeful sign of His work in you.
You tremble and with a penitent heart desire forgiveness, and the Lord meets that trembling with a divine forgiveness, saying, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake. It is surprising forgiveness, so free and so full that He repeats it as if to put your doubts to silence, and it is complete forgiveness. It is not measured by the greatness of your guilt, for He forgives not on account of the sinner but for His own sake, through the matchless atonement which covers all your guilt. Where God draws no limit, do not you draw any. There is forgiveness, whatever your sins may have been.
You speak truly when you say you are not always grateful. In this we all stand guilty. Ingratitude to friends is vile, to parents it is worse, but to the Saviour it is worst of all, and yet how common it is. We have all set up idols in the temple where the Crucified One alone should reign, and have forgotten tender obligations. To feel this vileness and to mourn that we have pierced the Lord is right, but do not let it drive you to despair. Let this whisper drive despair away, there is forgiveness, and that forgiveness is to be obtained from God through Jesus Christ His Son.
At the very same time that the guilt of sin is taken away and blessedness is bestowed, the forgiven man undergoes a change of nature. The work of the Spirit is linked with the work of the Son, when the Son removes guilt, the Spirit removes guile. He who once made no confession and hushed the protests of conscience is brought to confess all his guilt and to humble himself in the sight of God. If by faith you can believe in the sin forgiving God and accept that atonement, then you are even now among the blessed, and He will continue daily to forgive, for the act of forgiveness is a continuous one, yea an eternal forgiveness.
Your mention of the heavy burden of a troubled mind and changeful spirits does not place you beyond that mercy. The Lord knows our frame and the infirmities that beset us. It cannot be pleaded by any one that his sins are too great or his case too hard to be pardoned, for if you have been the chief of sinners you may have the chief of sinners forgiveness, and God can bestow it now. Your unkind words or ungrateful thoughts that have entered into the ears of the Lord may yet be answered with mercy if you seek His face and find forgiveness through His Son.
Come then just as you are, confessing all, and exercise faith upon that blessed system by which sin is no longer imputed. Look to Christ alone for salvation, trust His blood and righteousness, and ask the Spirit to daily subdue that ingratitude and unkindness and to make you grateful and gracious in Him. He will not cast away a lowly heart that takes the lowest place and admits, I am altogether a sinner. There is forgiveness there, with Him, now and forever.
