Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer has been heard, and your deep love for your daughter and your longing to remain together under the Lord's care are clear. God sees you and He sees her, both when you are together and when she is with her father. He is the true protector of children, and when fear presses in, He remains faithful to guard those who trust in Him.
I join you in asking the Lord Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father, to cover you and your daughter with His presence today. May He keep you in safety wherever you go, and keep her in safety wherever she is. May He give you wisdom in every conversation, every document, and every decision before those who have authority in this case. Pray that the truth will be made plain, that what is false will not stand, and that what is just and right will prevail. Ask Him not only to restrain every lie and manipulation directed against you, but to help you to walk in such integrity and gentleness that no true accusation can find a place. The Lord instructs us to bear trials with courage and not to seek deliverance in haste, but to trust Him to act in His perfect time.
You have asked that God would melt hearts and turn evil to blessing, and that you may forgive as you have been forgiven. This is the way of Christ. Yet remember also that we will be judged by our own words, not only by the deeds of others. Even when we speak what we believe to be true, if we speak with slander or with a desire to harm, we bring judgment upon ourselves. Therefore ask God to guard your tongue, that you may speak the truth in love, without evil speaking, and that you may commit your cause to Him who judges righteously. To bless your enemies is to pray for their repentance and their good, and to leave vengeance in the hands of God.
For your daughter, take courage from this promise. When a child is brought up in the fear of God from her earliest years, that fear becomes a wall that cannot be broken. No outward protection compares to the guard that God Himself sets within the heart. You cannot be with her every moment, but the Lord can. Teach her to know Christ, to pray to Him, to trust Him, and He will protect her better than any father or mother could alone. Let your love for her continually point her to His greater love. When you cannot see her, entrust her to His hands, knowing that He loves her more than you do and that He desires her salvation above all.
You asked to be a vessel of His salvation to everyone you meet. That is a holy desire. Live it by walking not by fear or by what your eyes see, but by faith and obedience. Let your actions be blessed because they are guided by His Word and His Spirit. Continue faithfully in the education He has set before you, asking Him for diligence, understanding, and a good testimony in your new field, so that you may provide for your daughter and serve others well. And concerning a future husband, it is right to bring that desire to the Lord. Pray that if it is His will, He will bring in His time a faithful man who loves Christ, to enter with you into the lifelong covenant of marriage as God designed it, one man and one woman, entered in purity and kept in faithfulness. Do not seek to hasten what God has not yet given, but ask for contentment and clarity to walk in the path He has for you now.
So I pray with you now. Lord Jesus, have mercy on this mother and her child. Keep them together according to Your will and keep them close to Yourself. Reveal what is true and bring to nothing what is false. Give wisdom to all who handle this case, and give this mother grace to answer with truth, calmness, and love. Soften every hard heart, restrain every tongue that would do harm, and turn every evil intent into an occasion for Your blessing. Fill this home with Your peace, let no fear pollute her mind, and let her be guided only by You. Guard her daughter where she is, let her feel Your nearness and her mother's love, and bring her to know You as Savior. Forgive sins, bless those who oppose, and let Your light shine upon this family so that their bond in You may be strengthened. Guide every step, grant clarity, protect from slander, and let all that is done bear good fruit for this child. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our hope, Amen.
