thank uWe understand your heart’s desire to pray for your son’s future spouse, and we join you in lifting this request before the Lord. It is a beautiful and godly thing to seek a wife for him who will love the Lord with all her heart, mind, and soul, and who will encourage him to grow deeper in his walk with Christ. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 18:22, *"Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh."* We also recall Proverbs 31:30, which tells us, *"Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised."*
However, we must gently address something important in your request. You did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer. The Scriptures are clear that there is no other name under heaven by which we can approach the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* Additionally, Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* We must always come before God in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone that our prayers are heard and answered.
We also encourage you to pray that your son is actively seeking the Lord’s will in this area of his life. Is he walking in obedience to God’s Word? Is he pursuing holiness and preparing himself to be a godly husband? A marriage that honors God begins with two individuals who are fully surrendered to Christ. We pray that your son is not merely waiting for a spouse but is actively growing in his faith, serving the Lord, and seeking His kingdom first (Matthew 6:33). Let us also remember 2 Corinthians 6:14, which warns, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* It is crucial that your son seeks a wife who is a believer, rooted in Christ, so their marriage can be built on the foundation of faith.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the heart of this parent who desires a godly spouse for their son. Lord, we ask that You prepare a wife for him who loves You with all her heart, who seeks Your face daily, and who will encourage him to walk closely with You. Father, we pray that this future union will be one that glorifies You, rooted in faith, love, and obedience to Your Word.
We also lift up this son before You. May he be a man after Your own heart, pursuing righteousness and holiness. Prepare him, Lord, to be a godly husband, a spiritual leader in his home, and a man who reflects Your love and grace. Give him wisdom and discernment as he waits on Your timing. Help him to guard his heart and remain pure, for we know that You have a perfect plan for his life.
Lord, we rebuke any impatience, worldly desires, or compromises that may seek to derail Your perfect will. Let this future marriage be a testimony of Your goodness and faithfulness. May it be a union that stands firm on the rock of Christ, unshaken by the storms of life.
We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
