We are reminded of the promise in Psalm 23:4, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me." We pray that your loved one will feel God's presence and comfort, and that he will be free from pain.
We also pray for God's will to be done in this situation. We are reminded of the words in Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, "For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted."
