Thank you for sharing your heart and asking for prayer in the name of Jesus. We have prayed for you and for your son, and we are glad you came in that name, because it is through Jesus alone that we have access to the Father and receive His mercy.
Your worry for your son is understandable. When care and medicine feel uncertain it is easy to feel like the Lord is distant or not noticing, the way the disciples felt in the storm when they thought Jesus did not care if they perished. He did care, and He does care now. When Jesus is present with His people, we are not left to sink. He sees the practical needs of your family, and He is able to provide through doctors, medicine, and the natural processes of healing that He Himself established. All true healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment or gradually through the means He has created in the body and through the hands of physicians. We have asked the Lord to give favor with your son's doctor, that the door for care would remain open, that refills and treatment would continue without interruption, and that you would be given peace as you trust Him with what you cannot control.
For your own healing, we join you in asking the Lord for His touch. Scripture shows Jesus teaching and preaching and healing every kind of sickness and disease among the people, healing the leper, the servant of the centurion, Peter's mother in law, and multitudes who were brought to Him. The prophet Isaiah spoke of the Messiah bearing our sicknesses and sorrows, and Matthew applies that promise to physical healing as well as to the forgiveness of sin. When Jesus took bread and said this is my body broken for you, He was pointing to the provision He made for our whole need, spiritual and physical, through His suffering. We believe God is able to heal today and that healing is still for His people.
At the same time Scripture teaches us to pray with humble trust in His wisdom. The apostle Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh to be removed, and the Lord answered with grace and strength rather than immediate removal. Sometimes the Lord heals instantly with a touch or a word, sometimes He heals gradually, and sometimes He works through a process over time. We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others are not, but we know He hears the prayer of faith. James tells us to pray for the sick, to anoint with oil and lay hands on them, not because there is power in hands or oil, but because it gives a point to release faith toward the Lord who alone raises up and restores.
So we pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this son before You. Please keep the way open for his care, move on the heart of his doctor to continue with him, and provide what is needed for his prescriptions and treatment. Give this parent rest from fear and fill the heart with Your peace that comes from the Spirit, not the anxiety that comes from circumstances. And Lord, we ask for healing for this one who is asking. Lay Your hand upon this body, restore health according to Your will, whether in a moment or through Your healing processes day by day. Above all, let Your presence be known and Your will be done, for Your glory and for good. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Savior and Healer, amen.
