My Son ### age ### , not going to school , living in ### with ### year old woman , I think his in gang with wrong friends , fighting , doing drugs , he accepted Jesus but the devil wants him & his life to be dead or in jail , or not prospering on earth & his decisions making skills are failing , please pray for my son . I'm a very concerned mother

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your precious son to the Lord. We know the pain of a mother’s love watching her child stray from the path of righteousness, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Your son made a confession of faith in Jesus, and that is not something the enemy can easily snatch away, no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). But we must also acknowledge the seriousness of his current choices, for they are leading him into darkness rather than the light of Christ.

First, we rebuke the spirit of rebellion, deception, and worldly influence that has taken hold of your son. The Bible warns, "Do not be deceived: 'Bad company corrupts good morals'" (1 Corinthians 15:33). His association with gangs, drugs, and an ungodly relationship is not only dangerous but directly opposed to the life God calls him to live. Living with a woman outside of marriage is fornication, and Scripture is clear that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God unless they repent (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). We must pray boldly against these sins, for they are not just poor choices, they are open doors to destruction.

We also rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell your son he is beyond redemption or that his life has no purpose. The devil is a thief who comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that he might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Your son’s identity is not in his mistakes but in Christ, who loved him and gave Himself for him (Galatians 2:20). We declare that the power of sin over his life is broken in Jesus’ name!

Now, we pray with urgency and faith:

Heavenly Father, we come before You as intercessors for this young man. Lord, You know his heart, his struggles, and the battles he faces. We ask that You would break every chain of addiction, violence, and ungodly influence in his life. Send Your Holy Spirit to convict him of sin and draw him back to You with cords of love (Hosea 11:4). Surround him with godly men who will speak truth into his life and show him the path of righteousness. Remove the wrong friends and replace them with those who will encourage him in faith.

Father, we pray for his relationship with this woman. If it is not Your will for them to be together, expose the deception and bring separation. If there is a child involved or the potential for one, we ask that You would protect innocent life and turn their hearts toward Your ways. Give him the strength to flee sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and the wisdom to pursue marriage only with a godly woman who loves You.

Lord, we also pray for his safety. Protect him from violence, arrest, or overdose. Place a hedge of angels around him so that the enemy cannot touch him (Psalm 91:11-12). Restore his decision-making skills and renew his mind with Your Word (Romans 12:2). Let him remember the day he accepted Jesus and run back to You with all his heart.

We ask for divine intervention in his education or vocation. Open doors for him to learn, grow, and find purpose in work that honors You. Provide mentors, pastors, or programs that can help him get back on track. And Lord, if he must face consequences for his actions, let them be redemptive, turning his heart toward You.

Most of all, we pray for a mighty encounter with Your presence. Let him experience Your love in a way that melts his hardened heart. Remind him that You are the God who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one lost sheep (Luke 15:4). We declare that he is not too far gone, Your grace is greater than all his sin.

We stand on Your promise in Joel 2:25: "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten." Restore the wasted time, the broken relationships, and the lost opportunities in his life. Let him become a testimony of Your power to save and transform.

And to you, dear mother, we say: do not lose hope. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep speaking life over your son. Your prayers are powerful and effective (James 5:16). Even if he seems far from God, remember the story of the prodigal son, he came to his senses and returned home (Luke 15:17-20). God is working even when you cannot see it.

We encourage you to seek out a strong, Bible-believing church that can support you in prayer and possibly reach out to your son. If he is open, invite him to attend with you or connect with a youth pastor or men’s ministry. Sometimes, the voice of another believer can break through when a parent’s words cannot.

Lastly, we must emphasize the importance of salvation through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Your son’s faith in Jesus is the foundation for his deliverance. If he has wandered from that faith, pray that the Holy Spirit would bring him back. If he has never truly surrendered his life to Christ, pray that he would do so with all his heart. The blood of Jesus cleanses from all sin (1 John 1:7), and it is never too late to turn to Him.

We will continue to stand in the gap for your son, believing that God is able to turn his life around. Keep trusting, keep praying, and never give up. The same God who parted the Red Sea can make a way where there seems to be no way. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Your love for your son comes through so clearly, and we can only imagine how heavy this burden must feel on a mother’s heart. It’s agonizing to watch someone you raised walk into danger and self-destructive choices, especially when you know he once said yes to Jesus. We want you to know we’re standing with you, not dismissing your concern about spiritual darkness. The enemy is real, but the one who holds your son is far greater, and no chain, whether addiction, wrong relationships, or bad decisions, is beyond Christ’s reach to break.

While we pray without ceasing for your son, it may help to pursue concrete support for yourself. Reaching out to a pastor or a trusted Christian friend for ongoing conversation can lighten the isolation. Many churches have prayer groups for mothers or families affected by addiction; some Moms in Prayer groups focus exactly on prodigal children. Having a few steady prayer partners who know the situation can keep you encouraged and remind you that you don’t carry this alone.

In the practical realm, if you sense your son is doing things that put him at immediate physical risk, like violence or serious drug use, don’t hesitate to alert the proper authorities if necessary, but do it with wisdom and a calm spirit. Your goal isn’t to punish but to help him stay alive long enough for God to turn his heart.

For now, let’s pray together:

Jesus, we lift this mother to You. Comfort her in her distress and give her Your peace that guards her heart. We bring her son before You, protect him from every plot of the enemy, break the pull of gangs and drugs, and surround him with people who will speak truth and love. Restore sound thinking and lead him to genuine repentance and safety. Give this mother steady hope and the strength to trust You even when she can’t see the way forward. We ask all of this in Your mighty name, Amen.

I hear the ache of a mother’s heart, crying out from the depths of a sorrow Job himself would have known, when he cried, “Joseph my son is, without a doubt, rent in pieces.” The enemy would gladly devour your son, wrapping chains of gang and drug about him, dragging him down to the pit or the prison cell. The darkness has sought to claim him, and the archers of temptation have sorely wounded him. This very conflict of soul you feel is the echo of that battle between light and darkness, but be of good cheer, the ransom has been found, and the Deliverer is mighty.

The precious promise of God stands forever: “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb?” He has not forgotten your son, nor has He withdrawn the covenant from the seed of the righteous. You say your son accepted Jesus. Let that spark of divine life be your anchor. The deliverance of a sinner from the power of darkness is as much the work of God as deliverance from its guilt. If the Lord has begun a good work, He will not leave it. Even now, as a father chastens the son in whom he delights, the Lord may be employing these bitter consequences to drive the prodigal back. God had one Son without sin, but He never had a son without sorrow. The rod is a hard instrument, but in our Father’s house it is a profitable one.

Now fix your eyes upon the Father in the parable. The prodigal had sunk to the very depths, the son of a noble vine became a degenerate shoot. Yet when he was a great way off, the father saw him and ran. The father did not kick him; he fell upon his neck and kissed him much. Those kisses were the seal of forgiveness, the token that he was a child still. My own soul knows this embrace, for I also stood in the prodigal’s rags when the Father’s love rushed to meet me. Let this be your confidence: the instant the resolve in your son’s heart becomes a deed, when he arises and comes, the Father’s arms are open. Until that day, pray with Jacob-like wrestling at the brook Jabbok, trusting that the Esau you fear may yet fall upon his neck with kisses of peace.

Therefore, take courage and let your conduct be as the Psalmist’s: “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” Declare them now in prayer, believing that He who gave His own dear Son to ransom sinners will not withhold the lesser deliverance your son needs. Pray that he would be brought forth from this Egypt, not with the stubborn bonds of Pharaoh holding him, but with the spoil of grace, silver and gold from the crucible of his trials. You cannot save him yourself; he can do nothing on his own. But remember, He who makes deliverance effectual says, “If the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.” The matter is not with the power of the devil, but with the power of the Almighty Deliverer.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
