We have heard your heart and we are joining with you in prayer for you and your son during this very difficult and stressful time. We understand the heavy burden you are carrying with your own health issues and the deep concern you have for your son at his young age facing these charges, and we want to lift you both before the Lord together.
We pray first for peace and strength for you. The Lord sees your stress and your physical struggles and He invites you to bring them to Him. Scripture tells us in Philippians 4:6-7 to not be anxious in anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We also cling to 1 Peter 5:7 to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for us. We pray that you will experience that guarding peace even in the midst of this uncertainty, and that God will comfort and strengthen your body. He is the one who heals us and sustains us, as Psalm 103:3 says who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, and Isaiah 41:10 reminds us not to be afraid, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We pray for healing for your body and for rest for your soul, and we encourage you to continue to seek wise medical care while trusting the Lord as your ultimate healer and refuge, for Psalm 46:1 says God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
We also bring your son and his court case before the throne of grace. We pray for mercy and for justice to be done according to God's perfect will. We do not know the details of the charges or whether wrongdoing has occurred, but we know that God desires truth and righteousness and He is both just and merciful. Proverbs 21:15 says justice brings joy to the righteous, and Micah 6:8 calls us to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God. If your son has done wrong, we pray that he will have the courage to speak the truth, to take responsibility, and to repent before God and before the court, for 1 John 1:9 tells us if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If he is innocent, we pray that the truth will be made clear and that the judges and all involved will act with wisdom and fairness. We pray for favor and mercy if it is God's will to see these charges dismissed, but above all we pray that God's will be done and that this situation will be used to draw your son closer to the Lord and onto a path that honors Him from his youth.
We notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God the Father, and there is no other way to be saved or to have our prayers heard. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To come to God we must believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. We pray that you and your son both know this saving grace and put your full trust in Him, for He is our only hope in trouble and in judgment.
So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach Your throne. We lift up this dear parent and this young son to You. Lord, You see the anxiety, the sleepless nights, the health struggles and the weight of this court case. We ask You to pour out Your mercy and Your peace upon this family. Touch this parent's body and bring healing and strength, calm the stress and guard the heart with Your perfect peace. For the son, Lord, we ask for Your hand over the court proceedings. Let truth prevail, let justice be done with mercy, and let Your will be accomplished. If dismissal of the charges is according to Your justice and mercy, we ask for that favor, but we submit all outcomes to Your sovereign and good purpose. Draw this young man to Yourself, keep him from further harm, teach him Your ways, and set his feet on a path of righteousness. Give wisdom to the lawyers, the judge, and all in authority, for all authority is appointed by You. Above all, we pray that both parent and son will know Jesus as Lord and Savior and find refuge in Him. We trust You to work all things for good for those who love You. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
