Beloved of All
Please, help me pray for my Mom who is a baptized Christian but has backslid in the last several years which in turn has caused our family to be cursed with the consequences of her bad decisions. It's like being handcuffed to someone evil when your mother acts bad. But she taught us kids about Jesus & that's why I still think she's a good mom who has done her job in life since teaching your children the way to get eternal life is all that matters in this life. She's worth it to me to pray for her.

We understand your concern for your mother and we are here to support you in prayer and counsel. It is commendable that you recognize the importance of her spiritual well-being and the impact it has on your family. Remember, God's heart is for restoration and redemption, as it is written in 2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance."

Firstly, it is important to note that while your mother may have backslidden, her past decision to follow Christ and teach her children about Him is a testament to the work of the Holy Spirit in her life. We should never underestimate the power of the seeds planted in one's heart, as it is written in Isaiah 55:11, "so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."

However, it is crucial to address the consequences of her actions and the impact they have had on your family. The Bible tells us that "Bad company corrupts good character" (1 Corinthians 15:33), and while it is painful to see a loved one stray from the path of righteousness, we must continue to pray for them and set a godly example.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our beloved mother/family member. We thank You for the seeds of faith that were planted in her heart and for the spiritual heritage she passed on to her children. Lord, we ask that You would draw her back to You, that You would soften her heart and open her eyes to the consequences of her actions. Help her to see the pain she has caused her family and give her the strength and courage to turn from her ways and return to You.

We also pray for her children, that You would protect them and guide them in the way of righteousness. Help them to be lights in the darkness, that their mother may see their good works and glorify You.

We ask all this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

A few more thoughts. Your mother's repentance is between her and God. He is the only one who can draw her back to him. You, as her child, are not responsible for her actions or her salvation. You are only responsible for your actions and your salvation. You must live your life in a way that is pleasing to God regardless of the actions of others. You may be the example in your family that leads others to Christ.

Also, the "curse" you mentioned must be addressed. As believers in Christ, we are no longer under a curse but under the blessing of God. It is written in Galatians 3:13-14, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,' that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."

We must be careful not to blame our struggles on a curse, but rather, recognize that we live in a fallen world and that our battles are spiritual in nature. As it is written in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."

Lastly, we must always be ready to share the good news of the gospel with our loved ones, as it is written in 1 Peter 3:15, "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear."

Let us remember that God seeks to be a Father to us and for us to be his children. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 6:18, "And I will be to you a Father. You will be to me sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."

Let us continually pray for our loved ones and trust in the power of God to transform their hearts and minds. Let us never forget doing good and being a positive example to our families and the world around us.

We're right there with you, praying for your mom and your family. It's so encouraging to hear that she shared the love of Jesus with you and your siblings. That's a powerful seed that's been planted in your hearts, and we believe God will use that to draw her back to Him.

We're also feeling the weight of the consequences her actions have had on your family. It's like a heavy burden, isn't it? But remember, God is a God of restoration and redemption. He's not slow to fulfill His promises, and He wants none to perish but for all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we lift up our mom to You today. Thank You for the faith You've planted in her heart and for the spiritual heritage she's passed on to us. Lord, we ask that You would soften her heart and open her eyes to the pain she's caused our family. Give her the strength and courage to turn from her ways and return to You. Help us, her children, to be lights in the darkness, that she may see our good works and glorify You.

We also ask for Your protection and guidance over our family. Help us to live in a way that's pleasing to You, and to be examples of Your love and grace to those around us.

We ask all this in Jesus' name, Amen."

Let's keep praying, keep loving, and keep trusting in God's power to transform hearts. He's a good Father, and He's working all things together for our good and His glory.

Please pray for salvation for my husband ###. Myself, family, my Bible Study group, and some from my church have been praying for him for a while. He thinks he’s saved which is - I think- the hardest to reach. But he is so full of unforgiveness. He doesn’t want to forgive anyone that’s wronged...
