Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Thank you for bringing this heavy burden to us. We join you in thanking God that your daughter was spared, that she had just driven up and was not inside when the tree fell and the fire broke out. That preservation is a mercy we do not overlook.
We are praying for her now, for peace after such a frightening and drawn out trial, for wisdom and strength as the toll of waiting and dealing with dishonest people weighs on her, and for the Lord to bring this long delay to a just and speedy resolution. We ask God to provide for her financial needs, to open doors for honest and fair help to finish the restoration of her home, and to protect what remains from further loss. God sees when people take advantage of others in vulnerable moments, and He is just. We pray He would restrain those who overcharge and take what is not theirs, bring their actions to light, and guide your daughter to trustworthy counsel and help so she is not exploited further.
Scripture reminds us that our houses and possessions in this life are fragile and temporary, like children building for a time, while the lasting work is what God builds in us. Fire can reveal what is solid and what is not, both in buildings and in hearts. We pray that through this refining trial your daughter would know more deeply the shelter that cannot be burned or shaken, and that God would restore to her a safe place to live for His glory.
We also pray for her heart after trauma, that the Lord who draws near to the troubled would quiet fear, renew sleep, and surround her with caring support from family and the church, as He calls us to provide for our own household in love both for body and soul.
We will continue to lift her up before the Father, asking in the name of Jesus Christ alone, our only hope and Savior, for provision, justice and healing, and that all will be well in His care. Amen.
