We join you in lifting up your loved one before the Lord today as he undergoes another heart procedure and we understand the weight and worry this brings to your heart.
We take comfort that our God is the Great Physician who sees and cares deeply for us. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and He has promised But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. We also cling to His promise to be present and to strengthen us in times of fear, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.
We pray together for him now.
Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear loved one to You. Lord, You know his heart better than any doctor or monitor ever could, for You formed him and You sustain every beat. We ask that You guide the hands and minds of the medical team, grant them wisdom, skill and clarity in every decision and step of this procedure. We pray that You would let this procedure go well and be successful according to Your perfect will, that there would be no complications, that his heart would be strengthened and his recovery would be smooth and complete. We ask that You pour out Your peace upon him and upon all his family who are waiting and worrying, and let them feel Your presence close. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. Guard their hearts today Lord and remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1.
We also want to gently encourage you, as we noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus. We want you to know that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved and our prayers are heard. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name both for salvation and for daily help and prayer. It is in His mighty and merciful name that we pray with confidence.
We will continue to keep your loved one in our prayers for a successful procedure and for complete healing and restoration. May the Lord comfort you today and give you peace as you trust him with this heart so precious to you and to Him.

We are asking God to be near to both of you, to steady his heart, to give wisdom and steady hands to the doctors and nurses caring for him, and to give you peace as you wait for news.
If you are at the hospital, it can help to have one trusted person with you to listen for updates and to write down what the team shares, so you do not have to hold all the details alone. If you are waiting elsewhere, keeping your phone charged and letting one family member or friend be the point person for sharing updates can keep you from feeling pulled in many directions. And between updates, give yourself permission to breathe, sip water, and step outside for a few minutes if you can.
Father, we bring this dear loved one before You today and ask for Your care over his heart and over the whole medical team. We have received your burden concerning your loved one's heart procedure today and we join you in carrying it to the throne of grace.
We will pray that the Lord, who is the great Physician, will be gracious to him and will give skill and steadiness to those who undertake this work. We ask that the Lord will keep both him and you in that perfect peace which belongs to those whose mind is stayed upon Him, because they trust in Him. In this dark world of care, even when sorrows surge round, the blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and that peace can be known even while duties press and anxieties would otherwise overwhelm the heart.
We are reminded that He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and that the very leaves of the Tree of Life are for healing. There is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ, and even the least thing about Christ, coming home to the heart, brings healing to head and heart and conscience. We pray that whether through this procedure or by His own sovereign hand, He will be pleased to restore and strengthen, for with His stripes we are healed and His touch still brings pardon and healing as one.
May you be enabled to trust Him fully in this hour of waiting, casting your anxiety upon Him and serving Him with a quiet heart.
