My ###'s addiction

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son and his struggle with addiction to smoking weed. Father God, we know that You see the pain and the bondage that this addiction has brought into his life, and we stand in the gap for him, asking for Your mighty deliverance.

The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." This addiction is defiling the temple of the Holy Spirit, and we pray that Your Spirit would convict him deeply of this truth. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus' name, declaring that it has no place in his life, for he was bought with the precious blood of Christ.

Lord, we also know that addiction often stems from deeper issues—pain, emptiness, or a search for something to fill a void. We pray that You would reveal to him the root of this struggle and heal those wounds. Psalm 147:3 says, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We ask that You would bind up his wounds and fill him with Your peace, joy, and purpose so that he no longer seeks solace in substances.

Father, we pray for strength and courage for your son to resist temptation. Your Word says in James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We declare that as he submits to You, the enemy will have no power over him. Surround him with godly influences—friends, mentors, and a community of believers who will encourage him in his walk with You and hold him accountable.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment for you, as his parent, to know how to support him without enabling his addiction. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Even now, as he faces this battle, we trust that the seeds of faith and righteousness you have sown in his life will bear fruit.

Lord, we know that true freedom comes only through Jesus Christ. If your son has not yet surrendered his life fully to You, we pray that he would come to know You as his Lord and Savior. Romans 10:9 says, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." We pray that he would confess his need for You and turn away from this addiction, finding his identity and strength in Christ alone.

We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that he will walk in the freedom that Christ died to give him. We trust in Your power to break every chain and set the captives free. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're here for you and your son, lifting him up in prayer today. We know the struggle is real, but we trust in God's power to deliver him from this addiction. Let's remind ourselves of God's promise in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Let's claim this promise for your son today. We pray that God would fill him with His strength, helping him to resist temptation and overcome this challenge. We also pray for wisdom for you, as his parent, to guide and support him in this journey. Let's trust in God's plan and purpose for your son's life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
