Humble Prayer Partner
About 10 months ago, I had a very personal encounter with the Lord where I poured my heart out to Him about my situation with my ex and asked for guidance. Not long after that, a reverend I had never met before who knew absolutely nothing about me reached out to me saying he felt called to speak with me. We talked about my situation, and only after much prayer on his part did he give me the prophecy. I won’t share every private detail, but the heart of what he said was this that she would come back into my life, that a relationship would form though he said clearly he didn’t know if that specific relationship would last in that stage, and that eventually she would come to Christ and then she and I would marry. The only vague part was when she would come to Christ whether while with me or separately but the rest was very specific. Everything he said unfolded just as he had spoken. She and I did reconnect. We entered into a relationship. When that relationship ended, I remember telling the reverend that he must have been wrong. Within 20 seconds of sending that message, her brother texted me saying he felt called to preach to his sister, to teach her about Christianity, and to help lead her to Christ. He even told me multiple times that he tried to run from what he felt his calling was, but each time he came back to me and I inadvertently helped push him back toward that calling. He started calling me the whale to his Jonah because of how the Lord kept redirecting him. Over the past week and a half, I’ve noticed her interacting more and more with Christian content online. It’s not something I go looking for, I simply see it because we still follow each other. It’s been striking to me because it’s exactly the sort of thing that fits with what was prophesied. At this point, everything in the prophecy has come true except for her coming to Christ and the part about marriage. Paul himself taught us that all prophecy is partial in 1 Corinthians 13:9 and that we only know in part and prophesy in part. Even in Scripture, we see that prophecy can be accurate but still unfold in ways or timings we don’t fully understand. That’s why even though I believe this prophecy is true, I still hold it with open hands before the Lord and ask Him to guide me and purify my heart as He works. This whole experience—this prophecy and everything I’ve been living through—has been pushing me more and more and more toward God. It has gotten to the point where it is so obvious that it is God and nothing else, because neither the flesh nor the enemy would ever be pointing me closer to Him. So please pray with me that this prophecy, if it is indeed from the Lord, will bring both me and her closer together and closer to God. Pray that she is reborn in Him and that if it is His will, this prophecy leads to an everlasting God-centered relationship and marriage.

We are deeply encouraged by your testimony of how the Lord has been working in your life through this prophecy and the unfolding of events that have drawn you closer to Him. It is clear that God’s hand is upon this situation, and we rejoice with you in seeing how He has been faithful to guide and direct your steps. The way the Lord has used even the reluctance of her brother—whom you humorously call the "whale to his Jonah"—is a beautiful reminder of how God works through imperfect people to accomplish His perfect will. Truly, His ways are higher than ours, and His timing is always perfect.

We commend you for holding this prophecy with open hands before the Lord, recognizing that while prophecy is a gift from God, it is partial and must always be tested against Scripture and the character of Christ. Your humility in seeking God’s purification in your heart through this process is a testament to your desire to walk in obedience and surrender. This is the posture we must all take when we receive words from the Lord, for our hearts can easily become distracted by our own desires rather than His will. As you have already acknowledged, Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 13:9-12:

*"For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will pass away. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child. Now that I have become a man, I have put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known."*

Your story also brings to mind the words of Jeremiah 29:11, where the Lord declares, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* God’s plans for us are always rooted in His goodness, and He is faithful to complete the work He begins in us. We see this in your life as He has used this prophecy not only to draw you deeper into dependence on Him but also to stir the heart of this woman toward Christ through the influence of her brother and even the Christian content she is engaging with.

Yet, we must also take this moment to remind you—and all of us—of the importance of guarding our hearts and aligning our desires with God’s Word. While it is beautiful to see how the Lord has orchestrated these events, we must remain cautious about placing our hope in the outcome of a restored relationship or marriage rather than in Christ alone. The Lord may indeed be preparing her heart for salvation and a future with you, but we must also be prepared for the possibility that His plans may look different than we expect. Our ultimate joy must always be found in Him, not in the fulfillment of our earthly desires. As Psalm 37:4-5 tells us, *"Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this."*

We also want to gently remind you of the biblical principles regarding relationships and marriage. If the Lord does bring this woman back into your life, it must be with the intention of pursuing a godly, Christ-centered marriage—not simply a relationship for the sake of companionship. Scripture is clear that marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman, designed to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If this relationship is restored, it must be built on a foundation of shared faith in Christ, purity, and a commitment to honor God in all things. If there has been any sexual immorality in the past, we encourage you to repent and seek the Lord’s forgiveness, committing to walk in holiness moving forward. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 says, *"For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God."*

Most importantly, we must emphasize that salvation is the most critical part of this prophecy. If this woman comes to Christ, that is a miracle far greater than any earthly relationship. Your prayer for her rebirth in Him is the most vital petition we can lift before the Lord. Jesus Himself said in Mark 8:36, *"For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?"* A marriage without Christ at the center is a hollow victory, but a soul saved for eternity is a triumph that will echo into heaven.

Now, let us pray together over this situation, seeking the Lord’s will above all else:

---
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the way You have been moving in our brother’s life. Lord, we thank You for the gift of prophecy and for the ways You have used it to draw him—and now this woman—closer to You. We ask that You continue to guide him with Your wisdom and discernment, that he would not place his hope in the fulfillment of this prophecy but in You alone. Purify his heart, Lord, and align his desires with Your will. If there is any area of his life that is not pleasing to You, we ask that You would convict him by Your Holy Spirit and lead him to repentance.

Father, we lift up this woman before You. We pray that You would soften her heart to the truth of the Gospel. Lord, draw her to Yourself in a way that is undeniable. Use her brother, use the Christian content she is engaging with, and use every circumstance in her life to reveal Your love and Your truth to her. We pray that she would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, that she would repent of her sins and surrender her life to You. May she experience the transformative power of Your grace and mercy.

Lord, if it is Your will for this relationship to be restored, we ask that You would prepare both of their hearts for a godly, Christ-centered marriage. Give them wisdom to pursue one another in purity and with the intention of honoring You in all things. If this is not Your plan, we pray that You would give our brother the strength and grace to surrender this desire to You, trusting that Your plans for him are good.

We also pray for protection over this situation. Guard their hearts and minds from the enemy’s schemes. Do not allow Satan to twist this prophecy or use it to lead either of them into confusion, idolatry, or sin. Let Your truth be the lamp unto their feet and the light unto their path.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would be glorified in all of this. May this testimony be a witness to Your faithfulness, Your power, and Your love. Let it be a reminder to all of us that You are a God who speaks, who acts, and who is deeply involved in the details of our lives. We ask all of this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
---

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord daily through prayer, Scripture, and godly counsel. Stay rooted in the Word, for it is the ultimate measure of truth and the lens through which we must view every prophecy, circumstance, and desire. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith, and trust that He will lead you every step of the way.

If there is any area of your life where you feel you may be struggling—whether with impatience, doubt, or temptation—we urge you to bring it before the Lord and before trusted believers who can walk alongside you in accountability. Remember, we are not called to walk this journey alone but as part of the body of Christ.

May the Lord bless you and keep you as you wait upon Him. May His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
