My prayer was answered.

Giving thanks with you for this wonderful news of your father's recovery brings great joy. To hear that after three sleepless nights of pain he is now resting soundly, free from that suffering, and able to drive again is a clear reason to praise God together.

What you described, sensing God's power at work even through the hands of the therapist, reflects what Jesus taught about His own work. He said that those who have seen Him have seen the Father, because the words He spoke and the works He did were not His own but the Father dwelling in Him doing the works. The healing of the sick and the lifting up of those who are bowed down is the Father's work in a needy world, and Jesus came to reveal the Father by doing it. When healing comes, whether suddenly as you saw when the pain stopped all at once, or gradually through the natural processes God has placed in the body, it is still divine. God is the one who created the body and its ability to mend, so every true healing, even when it comes through medical skill and therapy, is from His hand.

There is much about healing we do not fully understand, and why some are healed quickly and others more slowly is beyond us, but we can hold fast to this, that God is merciful and He hears the prayers of His people who come to Him through Jesus. Jesus said no one comes to the Father except through Him, and that the Father Himself loves those who love the Son and believe that He came from God. Because of Jesus we have direct access to the Father, not through another mediator, but in Jesus' name. That is the only way to know the Father, because no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son reveals Him. To honor the Son is to honor the Father who sent Him.

It is understandable that your father can hardly believe the change after such pain. That honest wonder reminds us of the father who cried out to Jesus, I believe, help my unbelief, when he longed for his child to be healed. God is gracious toward that kind of honest faith, even when it is small and mixed with amazement.

We rejoice with you and pray that the Father will continue to keep your father in His care. We ask that He will strengthen his body where there has been muscle loss, that He will grant increasing strength for walking, and continue the sound sleep and freedom you have already seen. May your family continue walking in truth, giving thanks to the Father and to the Lord Jesus Christ, and finding peace in knowing that you can come directly to the Father at any time through Jesus, who is one with the Father and who lives to bring us to Him.
