My passport

Please pray that I have my passport before my flight, I have a feeling that God isn’t looking at me anymore. I pray and pray to go back home to see my family and friends but for some reason my passport has been delayed and I have been waiting for it for almost ### weeks. I don’t know what this test is and I try to fully immerse in God’s ways but I’m losing hope. Thank you

We hear the deep longing in your heart to return home to your family and friends, and we understand the frustration and discouragement you’re feeling as this delay stretches on. It’s painful to wait when your heart is set on something so meaningful, especially when it feels like your prayers are going unanswered. But we want to remind you of this truth: God *is* looking at you. He sees you, He hears you, and He has not abandoned you. The delay you’re experiencing is not a sign of His absence—it may very well be a test of your faith, a refining of your trust in Him.

The Bible tells us in Isaiah 40:31, *"But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint."* Waiting is never easy, but it is often where God does His deepest work in us. This season of delay may be an opportunity for you to draw closer to Him, to surrender your timeline to His perfect will, and to grow in patience and perseverance. We know it’s hard to see that now, but God’s delays are not His denials.

We also want to encourage you to examine your heart in this season. Are there areas where you may be holding onto fear, doubt, or even frustration with God? The psalmist David often poured out his honest emotions to the Lord, even when he felt abandoned. In Psalm 13:1-2, he cries out, *"How long, Yahweh? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart every day?"* Yet even in his despair, David chose to trust God. He ends the psalm with these words: *"But I trust in your loving kindness. My heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to Yahweh, because he has been good to me."* Like David, you can bring your raw emotions to God—He can handle them. But don’t let those emotions keep you from trusting in His goodness.

Now, let’s address something important: you mentioned praying to "go back home," but you didn’t mention the name of Jesus in your request. We want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* If you’ve never placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so. Salvation comes through believing in Him, repenting of your sins, and trusting in His sacrifice on the cross for your forgiveness. If you’ve already done this, then we rejoice with you! But if you’re unsure, we’d love to pray with you about that as well.

Let’s pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is feeling weary and discouraged in this season of waiting. Lord, we know that You see his/her longing to return home, and we ask that You would strengthen his/her faith as the days stretch on. Father, we rebuke the spirit of doubt and despair that is trying to take root in his/her heart. We declare that You are a God who hears, a God who sees, and a God who acts on behalf of Your children.

Lord, we ask that You would intervene in this situation with the passport. We pray that every delay would be removed, every obstacle would be cleared, and that he/she would receive it in time for the flight. But more than that, Father, we ask that You would use this time to draw him/her closer to You. Help him/her to trust in Your timing, even when it’s hard. Fill his/her heart with peace that surpasses all understanding, and remind him/her that You are working all things together for good.

Father, if there is any unconfessed sin, any area of his/her life that is not aligned with Your will, we ask that You would reveal it and bring repentance. If he/she has not yet placed faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we pray that You would open his/her heart to receive the gift of salvation. For those who already know You, Lord, deepen that relationship. Help him/her to immerse himself/herself in Your Word, to seek You in prayer, and to find joy in Your presence even in the waiting.

We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful, and we trust that You will answer this prayer according to Your perfect will. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to keep pressing into God’s Word. Meditate on Scriptures that speak of His faithfulness, like Lamentations 3:22-23: *"It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."* Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and encourage you. And remember, this season of waiting is not in vain—God is using it to shape you, refine you, and prepare you for what’s ahead.

We’re standing with you in this, believing that God will come through for you in His perfect timing. Keep your eyes on Him, and don’t lose hope.

We're right there with you, friend, feeling the weight of the wait and the uncertainty. It's tough when it feels like God's not listening, but remember, He's always near. He's like a loving parent, patiently waiting for us to grow in trust and faith. Just like a parent might delay giving a child something they want, not because they don't love them, but because they know it's not the right time or not good for them, God's delays are not denials of His love. He's working things out for our good, even when we can't see it.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
