My neighbour upstair - noise story

Natasha 2

Beloved of All
Lord please remove this young man - my neighbour upstairs who has made noise with his 2 friends whole night till 4 am and i slept very short time and i had not a good sleep because i cannot properly sleep with earphones and noise/music in it. I cannot also sleep after 8, 9 am sometimes even 7 am and now i am deprived of sleep and this is my reality with my neighbour for 15 years. No respect for house order or for my plies. Nobody in the building wants to help or support me, everybody is thinking only about their profit out of everything. I dont have money, energy or time to persecute him legaly and moving is not good option out of various reasons. I have no man or male friend to stand by my side and to deal with this narcissist (i notices that men have more respect or fear from other men, at least in my country). Women must put up with everything. Please pray fir my situation. 1) to receive a godly husband with authority who will protect me and support me...2) to remove this childish selfish men who smoked marijuana for years which obviously caused unsensitivity for his surroundings...3) that this appartement above will be either EMPTY from now on or that i will have thoughtfull neighbour like i am in Jesus name.
In this moment my neighbour is nervously and aggressively walkkng up and down in his appartement above my head and my walls are trembling, he is also collecting bottles and canes of alcohol from the last night, i can hear it through the window. He is littetaly ignoring all my polite plies and lying in my face that he will talk to his friends and settle the situation and calm down!!!!

We hear your cry and we have carried your burden before the Lord with you, for we know how heavy fifteen years of broken sleep and being ignored can be. The lack of rest wears down the body and the spirit, and feeling alone without anyone to stand beside you and without support from others in the building makes it even harder. We want you to know that God sees your affliction and He is near to you in this trial.

The Lord understands the gift of sleep and His desire is to give His beloved rest. As it is written, I will both lay myself down and sleep in peace, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. Psalm 4:8 and It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil, for he gives sleep to his loved ones. Psalm 127:2 We pray that He will restore to you peaceful nights and guard your mind and body when you are deprived and weary.

We also hear your longing for a godly husband who will protect and support you, and this desire is good and honors God. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman ordained by God, and we pray that if it is His will He will lead you to a faithful Christian man who will love you as Christ loved the church and cherish you and exercise godly authority with gentleness and strength to protect you. As it is written, Whosoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh. Proverbs 18:22 and Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it. Ephesians 5:25 We encourage you to seek a spouse through prayer and through courtship that honors God, with purity and with the goal of marriage to a believer, trusting that the Lord knows the loneliness you feel as a woman who has had to endure so much alone. He has not forgotten you and He Himself is your defender when no man stands beside you. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 and Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

Regarding your neighbor, we understand your exhaustion and your plea for the noise to end and for that apartment to be empty or to be filled with a considerate neighbor. We gently encourage you to guard your heart against desiring harm or vengeance, and instead to entrust justice to God while also using the lawful means He has provided. Vengeance belongs to the Lord and we are called to seek peace where we are able. As it is written, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:18-19 and also Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Matthew 5:44 This does not mean you must accept ongoing disturbance or disrespect for the house order. God has ordained authorities for the protection of peace and order, Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God. Romans 13:1 Even when others in the building seek only their own profit and will not help, you may still quietly document what happens and humbly appeal to the proper building management or civil authorities who are appointed to uphold order, not to persecute in anger but to seek a lawful and peaceful resolution.

We also must address what you have shared about his behavior, the loud gatherings through the night, the marijuana use for years and the alcohol, the aggressive pacing and the lies when you plead politely. These things dull the conscience and harden the heart toward neighbors and toward God. As it is written, Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit. Ephesians 5:18 and Wine is a mocker and beer is a brawler, whoever is led astray by them is not wise. Proverbs 20:1 We do not condone this conduct and we pray that the Lord will convict him of his need for repentance and bring him to sobriety and to salvation in Christ, for only a changed heart will make him a truly thoughtful neighbor.

We join our faith with yours now and pray together.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up our sister to You. Lord, You see her sleepless nights, the trembling walls, the loud music and voices until four in the morning, the exhaustion that keeps her from resting even after seven or eight, and the fifteen years of pleading without being heard. We ask You to be her refuge and her protector where she feels she has no man to stand with her. Surround her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 Grant her deep and healing sleep and restore her strength day by day. We ask that You would intervene in the apartment above, either by changing this young man’s heart to bring him to repentance and to consideration for others, or by Your sovereign hand to bring an end to the disturbance and to provide either quiet or a new and thoughtful neighbor who will respect the house order and live peaceably. Move in the hearts of those in authority in the building and in the community to act justly and not merely for profit. Convict this young man of his use of marijuana and alcohol and his selfishness, and draw him to Yourself that he may be saved and transformed. And Father, if it is Your will, we ask that You would in Your time bring to our sister a godly husband, a faithful Christian man who will love her, lead her well, and stand beside her with strength and tenderness all the days of her life. Give her wisdom to know how to speak and when to be silent, grace to forgive and not grow bitter, and endurance to continue to do what is right while she waits on You. We trust that You hear our prayer because we ask in the name of Your Son Jesus, who alone is our access to You and our salvation, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 We thank You that You are working even now. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring every anxiety to the Lord in prayer, to keep a gentle and respectful manner while also not neglecting the proper and lawful channels for help, and to seek fellowship with faithful believers who can stand with you in prayer and give wise counsel. The Lord is close to the weary and He will not forsake you. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6 We are standing with you and trusting God for His peace to fill your home and for His good will to be done in your building and in your future marriage.

We hear how exhausted you are after ### years of broken sleep and feeling unheard in your own home. To lie awake night after night while someone above you ignores every polite plea, and to feel the walls tremble and then have no one in the building stand with you, is deeply wearing. It makes sense you feel alone and unprotected right now.

You carried this with a lot of patience. Part of caring for yourself in a long situation like this is learning where your responsibility ends and another person's begins. That can include giving yourself permission to say a clear no, to speak truth in love even when it has been ignored before, and to let other people help you carry the boundary you cannot hold alone.

A couple of small, steady steps may help alongside prayer:

Keep a simple written log for a week or two of dates, times and what happened. It gives you a clear record if you do speak again to a building manager, landlord or mediator, and it can also be useful if you talk with your doctor about the toll the lost sleep is taking. For your health, please consider seeing a doctor about the ongoing sleep deprivation, not instead of prayer but with it.

Ask a pastor, elder, or trusted person from church to go with you when you address the house order. You should not have to face this alone, and going with someone can change how you are heard.

Father, we lift our sister to You. You see her weariness, her need for rest, and her longing to feel safe at home. Grant her deep, restoring sleep, wisdom for next steps, and people nearby who will stand with her and advocate for peace in her building. Lead her in Your will and guard her heart with Your presence. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your long and painful trial has been heard, and your weariness after so many sleepless nights and so many years of disturbance is not hidden from the Lord. To be deprived of sleep night after night, to hear walking and trembling walls above you, the collecting of bottles after a night of noise, and to feel that polite pleas are ignored and untruthfully answered, is a heavy burden to bear. It is even heavier when you feel alone in the building, without help from neighbours, without means to pursue a legal remedy, without a protector near you, and when you feel as a woman you must simply endure what others disregard.

We bring your sorrows to the God who neither slumbers nor sleeps, and who sees the dwelling of His people. He is not distant from your distress. The peace you need most deeply is not only quiet in the building, though we will pray for that, but the perfect peace which comes from a mind stayed upon God because it trusts in Him. As it is written, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. That peace is not the stupefaction which the world gives, saying peace, peace where there is no peace, but the peace which Christ purchased with His blood and which the Holy Spirit works in the soul. It is the peace of God which passes all understanding, and it can keep your heart even when sorrows surge around you and when you are pressed by thronging duties and sleeplessness.

We will pray with you for the three burdens you have named.

First, for a godly husband. We pray that if it be the Lord's will, He will in His own time and wisdom bring into your life a godly man who knows Jesus Christ as his Saviour, who will love you as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself for it, who will lead with humble strength, protect with courage, and support you with faithful love in a lifelong covenant as God ordained marriage to be between one man and one woman. We do not ask for a man of mere authority of this world, but for a man whose authority is shaped by the cross, gentle, steadfast and holy. And until and whether the Lord provides such a companion, we pray you will know the Lord Himself as your Husband and Keeper, of whom it is said that His people find rest in the house of their Husband. He is the One who provides, who communes with His own most lovingly, and who endows His beloved with all good things. May you find rest in Him now.

Second, for your neighbour upstairs. We will not pray for harm upon him, but we will pray for the Lord to work in him what is needed. We pray that God would convict him of his selfishness and unkindness, deliver him from the bondage of marijuana and alcohol which dulls conscience and hardens the heart toward others, and bring him to see his need of salvation through Jesus Christ alone. No peace with God can stand while sin is cherished and while solemn duties to neighbours are broken. May the Lord awaken him, grant him repentance and a new heart, and teach him to love his neighbour and to walk soberly and considerately. We pray also that the Lord would restrain his restless and aggressive ways, and cause him to keep the order of the house and to speak truthfully when he promises to be quiet.

Third, for your dwelling. We ask the Lord in His mercy either to grant quiet to the apartment above you, whether by changing the heart of the one who lives there, by bringing a thoughtful and considerate neighbour in his place, or, if it be His wise providence, by leaving it empty for a season so you may have sleep and restoration. We pray that those who have responsibility in the building would no longer think only of profit, but would act with justice and compassion, and that the Lord would raise up help for you where you have felt unsupported, perhaps through a faithful local church, a pastor or elders who can stand with you and speak on your behalf.

We pray also for your body and mind, so deprived of sleep. May the Lord guard your health, give you intervals of true rest even now, and keep you from despair. Bear your sorrow with Christ, tell Him all, and seek that sweet calm which He alone can give. Do not seek peace first as a feeling, seek Christ first, and peace will follow, for He is our peace.

We will continue to remember you before the throne of grace, asking the Father to bless His people with peace, to keep you in perfect peace, and to do for you above what you ask, according to His loving kindness in Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray.
