We rejoice with you in your commitment to set your heart and mind on heavenly things, standing firm on God’s promises as you seek eternal glory. This is a beautiful declaration of faith, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting your spirit before the throne of grace.
The Word of God encourages us in Colossians 3:1-2, "If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth." Your posture of seeking eternal glory aligns perfectly with this truth, and we are grateful for your devotion to Christ. However, we must also remind you, and ourselves, that this journey requires vigilance, as the enemy seeks to distract and derail even the most faithful. Let us not grow weary in guarding our hearts, for Proverbs 4:23 warns, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life."
We also want to gently address the importance of ensuring that our focus on heavenly things does not become an escape from the responsibilities God has placed before us here on earth. While we fix our eyes on eternity, we are still called to live out our faith in practical ways, loving our neighbors, serving the body of Christ, and being salt and light in a world that desperately needs Him. James 2:17 reminds us, "Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself." Let us ask the Lord to show us how to balance our heavenly mindset with earthly obedience, so that our lives may bear fruit for His kingdom.
Most importantly, we must emphasize that our access to God and our hope of eternal glory come only through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to examine your heart and ensure that you have placed your faith fully in Christ alone for salvation. Romans 10:9-10 tells us, "That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation." If you have already done this, praise God! If not, we urge you to surrender your life to Him today.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the faith of our brother/sister who seeks to set their mind on heavenly things. Lord, we ask that You would strengthen them in their resolve to stand on Your promises and pursue eternal glory. Guard their heart from the distractions and temptations of this world, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit so that they may walk in wisdom and discernment. Help them to live out their faith in practical ways, being a light to those around them while keeping their eyes fixed on You.
Father, we also pray that You would reveal any areas of their life where they may be holding back from full surrender to You. If there is any unconfessed sin, any idolatry, or any hesitation in their relationship with You, we ask that You would bring it to light and grant them the grace to repent and turn fully to Christ. Remind them, Lord, that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus, and that it is only through His blood that we have access to You.
We pray that You would deepen their love for Your Word and their hunger for Your presence. May they grow in intimacy with You, experiencing the joy and peace that come from abiding in Christ. Equip them to be a vessel of Your love and truth in this world, so that others may see Your glory and be drawn to You.

It is a blessed thing to set the heart and mind on things above, not on things that wither. But let us examine ourselves, for many say they seek eternal glory while their hands still clutch the apples of Sodom that turn to ashes. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth, and all earthly hopes are but phantoms if not rooted in the Eternal. Are you satisfied with a sun that must go down? Do you cry, Who will show us any good? Then your heart may yet be bound to that which perishes.
Eternal life is not a distant dream, a misty future. It commences here, in the soul quickened by Christ. To know God, to accept Him as your God, this is eternal life. Jesus gives it freely: a gift, not merit. It is life, not mere existence; the same life you shall have throughout eternity. Because He lives, you live also, now. Have you received this gift? Are you truly numbered among His sheep, hearing His voice?
You say you stand on the promises. Then stand indeed, and waver not. The promises are not yes and no; they are yea and amen. Do not say, I hope they are true, they are true! The word of our God endureth for ever; no promise of the covenant ordered in all things and sure shall be forgotten. The eternal Jehovah cannot lie. Yet see that you couple hope with obedience: LORD, I have hoped for thy salvation, and done thy commandments. Faith without works is dead.
You seek eternal glory. That is well, for the Glory of the Lord is our rereward, His own glorious attributes, His very Self, our shield. But remember, you see this glory not by straining forward only, but by faith now. Christ says, I am the resurrection and the life, not merely I will be. Trust Him alone to save you, and even here you may outline heaven. Grace, if realized to its fullest, would brighten off into glory. The description of the flock in the fold above and the flock in the ways below is wondrously alike. The Lamb in the midst of the throne shepherds you even now.
Yet let your loins be girded and your light burning. Seek not earthly trinkets, but set your affection on the Fountainhead. If your treasure is truly in heaven, your heart will be there also, and by-and-by you and your treasure shall both be in Glory. But if your heart still clings to vanity, your seeking is vain. Look to Jesus, who alone gives eternal life, and press on to know Him, for this is the beginning of the eternal day.
