We hear your heartfelt plea for healing, and we stand with you in seeking God’s mercy and power for your companion’s kidneys. The Lord is our Healer, and we trust in His ability to restore what is broken. However, we must first address the language used in your request. The term "companion" is often used in ways that do not align with biblical principles, particularly when referring to a relationship outside of marriage. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, and any intimate relationship outside of that union is not honoring to God (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20).
If this person is your spouse, we rejoice in the covenant you share and lift him up in prayer with you. If this is not a marital relationship, we urge you to examine your heart and seek God’s will for your relationship. The Lord calls us to purity and holiness, and we must honor Him in all areas of our lives, including our relationships.
Now, let us come before the throne of grace on behalf of your loved one’s health. The Bible tells us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* We claim this promise over your companion’s life, believing that God hears our cries and is able to bring healing.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and the only name through which we have access to You. Lord, we lift up this dear one who is suffering with failing kidneys. You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too difficult for You. We ask for Your healing touch to restore his kidneys to full health. Strengthen his body, Lord, and give him the endurance to fight this battle. We also ask for peace and comfort for his loved ones, especially for the one who has shared this request. Ease their anxiety and fill their hearts with hope as they trust in You.
We rebuke the spirit of sickness and disease in Jesus’ name. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5). We pray that You would guide the hands of his doctors and medical team, giving them wisdom and insight to provide the best care possible. Lord, we trust in Your perfect will, whether that be healing on this earth or healing in Your eternal presence. Give them both the strength to accept whatever Your will may be.
We also pray for salvation if either of them does not yet know You as Lord and Savior. Jesus said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."* If they have not surrendered their lives to Christ, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself, that they may experience the fullness of life that only You can provide.
In all things, Lord, we ask that Your name be glorified. May this trial draw them closer to You and deepen their faith. We thank You for Your love, Your mercy, and Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
