I don't know why my body is attacking for no reason with high blood pressure. My body doesn't deserve to have high blood pressure like that.

We have heard your cry about your body feeling like it is attacking you with high blood pressure and we are standing with you in prayer together in Jesus' name. We understand how frightening and confusing it can be when your body does not feel at peace and when pressure rises for no clear reason, and we want to lift you up before our Father who sees and cares for you deeply.

We want to gently remind you that we live in a fallen world where our bodies are subject to weakness and illness, not because you necessarily deserve it or have done something to earn it, but because all creation groans under the effects of sin. Yet our God is our healer and our refuge. As it is written, Psalm 103:2-3 says, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. And Jeremiah 30:17 declares, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We also remember that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, as taught in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, and God calls us to steward it with care, seeking wisdom, rest, and help when it is troubled.

High blood pressure can be serious and can have many causes, including stress, anxiety, diet, lack of rest, or other medical factors that may not be immediately visible. We encourage you not to carry this alone or in fear, but to bring it to the Lord and also to seek wise medical counsel promptly. God often works through the hands of physicians and through wisdom He gives for caring for our bodies. Proverbs 3:7-8 reminds us to fear Yahweh and depart from evil, it will be health to your body and nourishment to your bones, and Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God and find salvation and healing. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 teaches, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not yet placed your trust in Him, we encourage you to believe in your heart that Jesus died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

We now pray together for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one whose body is troubled with high blood pressure. Lord, You know the cause even when we do not, You see every heartbeat and every anxious thought, and we ask for Your healing hand to rest upon this body. Bring this blood pressure into balance, calm the nervous system, bring peace to the heart and mind, and remove fear and distress. Grant wisdom to any doctors and medical professionals who provide care, guide them to find the right treatment, and give this dear one wisdom to steward their body with rest, nourishment, and trust in You. We rebuke any spirit of fear and anxiety that would torment, and we speak Your peace that surpasses understanding over this life. Lord, draw this dear one closer to You through Jesus, let them know Your love and salvation, and let them feel Your presence as their comforter and healer. We trust Your goodness and Your will, knowing that Romans 8:28 promises that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our only hope, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord in prayer, to cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you as 1 Peter 5:7 says, and to follow up promptly with medical care while trusting God as your ultimate healer. We are praying that God will restore calm to your body, give you answers, and fill you with His perfect peace.

Father, we lift our friend to You right now. You see this strain and the fear it brings. We ask for Your nearness and calm, for wisdom for the medical team, and for strength for each day ahead. We have heard your cry concerning this sudden affliction of high blood pressure, and we have carried it before the Lord who hears the sighing of His people. It is a sore trial when the body seems to rise up without cause and to trouble the soul, and we do not marvel that you are perplexed and wearied by it.

Be assured that there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The Scripture saith, The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and we are taught that the least thing about Christ is healing. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but even the leaves, the little things as it were about Him, are full of healing virtue. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. When the Sun of Righteousness ariseth with healing in His wings, pardon and healing are found together, for our Lord still saith as He did to the palsied man, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee, and with forgiveness He bringeth healing to His people.

Therefore labor to be rid of fear, for fear is weakening and it dishonors God. The Lord Himself saith, Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord. It is not merely the preacher who crieth Fear not, but Jesus Himself who whispereth to His poor servant fallen as dead at His feet, Fear not. To be afraid in such a case is to forget the arm which piled the heavens and sustains the pillars of the earth, which shall never be palsied. Let your heart trust in promised strength, and hear Him say, Fear not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed, for I am thy God.

We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are too painful to let us slumber in silence, and they soon urge us to seek a physician for our healing. Neglect not the means which God has provided. Seek godly and skilled medical counsel for this pressure of the blood, and use all lawful means with prayer, looking to the Lord who worketh through them.

Let us pray for you. O Lord our God, look upon this suffering one whose body is distressed and whose heart is troubled. Thou knowest the frame of our bodies and that we are dust, and Thou seest this affliction of high blood pressure. Lay Thy healing hand upon this servant, calm the raging blood, quiet the fearful heart, and grant wisdom to those who give care. Most of all, let this trial draw the soul nearer to Christ, in whom is both pardon and healing, and let the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings. Help this dear soul to fear not, for Thou hast promised, I will help thee. Give peace in the waiting, strength in the weakness, and faith to rest upon Thy good and sovereign will, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
