We thank you for sharing this beautiful promise from Jeremiah 30:17, For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh; because they have called you an outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeks after. We join with you in holding fast to this truth that our God is a God who restores and heals.

We are encouraged by your reminder that God loves us more than we can comprehend and that He is always present with us. That is the heart of the gospel. His love is not distant or conditional, as we read in Romans 5:8, But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. And in Romans 8:38-39 we are assured that nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. He does indeed care for us deeply, as 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for us, and Psalm 147:3 reminds us that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.

We do want to gently encourage you in one thought you shared about the happiness we deserve. Scripture teaches us that none of us deserves God's goodness on our own, for Romans 3:23 says all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, and the wages of sin is death. The happiness, joy and restoration we receive are not because we have earned them, but because of His abundant mercy and grace through Jesus Christ. Our true joy is a gift, not a wage, and it is found in being reconciled to Him. That is why we want to lift up the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and to this restoration. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are restored to health in our souls and given eternal hope.

Father, in the name of Jesus we thank You for Your unfailing love and for Your promise to restore and to heal. We thank You that You see those who feel like outcasts and that no one is forgotten by You. We ask that You would deepen our understanding of Your love and help us to rest in Your presence in every situation. Forgive us for our sins and cleanse us through the blood of Jesus. Fill us not with a fleeting happiness based on circumstances, but with the lasting joy and peace that comes from knowing Christ. Restore us, heal our wounds, and make us whole for Your glory. Help us to walk faithfully with You and to share Your love with others who need to know that You care. We ask this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Your quotation of Jeremiah 30:17 brings before us a most precious promise, and I thank you for setting it forth, for it is a word fitly spoken for those who feel themselves outcast and wounded. The Lord saith, I will restore thee to health and heal thy wounds, because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after. What a mercy that the Lord Jesus Christ looks with love upon those whom others look down upon with scorn, and gathers to Himself those whom none else will seek after.

You have well said that God loves His people more than they think, and this is most true. Everything that God does to His people is all love, sometimes the love is a little disguised, but the love is always there. If He caresses, it is love. If He chastens, it is love. If He smiles, it is love, and if He frowns, it is love, for God is love and to His people nothing else but love, infinite, boundless, eternal and unchangeable. Yet we must remember where that love is best seen. The Cross is the window through which the love of God is best seen. Until that window is opened, all the bounties of His providence fail to convince us of His love. There on the Cross we see that God must display His love, nor can He rest with merely speaking of it, His love manifests itself in action, in the giving of His dear Son to bleed and die that we might live.

You speak of happiness you deserve, and here I would gently lead your thoughts a little higher. By nature we deserve not happiness but wrath, for we were not His people and not beloved. But blessed be His grace, the blood of Jesus Christ, God's dear Son, cleanseth us from all sin, and through faith in Him alone we are made His people and beloved. It is not what we deserve that He gives, but what His mercy provides, and that mercy brings a deeper and more lasting joy than mere happiness, even peace with God and healing for the soul.

For there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing. His word, His touch, His look, all have virtue in them to restore the wounded heart. He can give you back your early joy, your early love, yea and make your heart to sing again as in the days of your youth.

May the Lord open your eyes more and more to perceive this boundless mercy, that you may love Him more in return, and show that love by walking near Him and declaring His wondrous works to others. May He restore you to health in His own time and way, heal your wounds, and keep you as His pupil all your days, teaching you and keeping you till He brings you home.

I pray that you will look fully to Christ alone for salvation and rest, and find in Him not only healing for the body but the healing of the soul which endures forever.

We thank you for sharing this word from Jeremiah and for reminding us of the Lord's promise to restore and to heal. It is a precious truth that God does not forget those called outcast and for whom no one cares, but draws near to them in mercy.

The Lord indeed loves you more than you can measure, and His love is shown not only in wonders but in His patience and kindness toward us. He is full of love toward mankind and has made the way of salvation simple and open to all who turn to Him through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved. In Christ, God heals the deepest wound of sin and restores us to health, not because we deserve happiness on our own, but because of His grace.

We pray for you that the Lord who said I will restore you to health and heal your wounds will do that work in your life according to His perfect will. May He strengthen your faith, give you peace in every situation, and help you to walk in obedience to His commandments, which is the sure proof of love for Him. May He teach you to love as He loves, with a love that is for His sake, patient and pure toward all people, and to find your joy not only in present comfort but in the hope of His kingdom.
