Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Gratitude to God is right and fitting, and I thank Him with you for His mercy which sustains us on every journey. I have heard your request concerning your nuptials and your desire for safe travel and provision, and I join you in seeking the Lord's guidance and care.
As you look to move forward, I encourage you to walk the narrow way with sobriety and wakefulness, keeping Christ as your guide. Scripture teaches that marriage is a holy covenant ordained by God as the lifelong union of one man and one woman, and that all intimacy and life together belongs within that covenant alone. It also warns us not to make provision for the flesh to fulfill its desires, but to keep both body and soul in health and purity, devoting our chief care to spiritual things. Whatever your plans, bring them fully under the Word of God, seeking not only His blessing on your desires but His wisdom to shape your desires according to His will. Salvation and every good gift come through Jesus Christ alone, and it is by His grace and mercy that we are made able to live in a way that honors Him.
So I pray that the Lord, in His great mercy, would grant you safe travel and supply what you need according to His goodness, that He would keep you from stumbling on either side of the path, and that He would lead you into all purity, faithfulness and truth. May He give you clarity, counsel from His Word, and hearts willing to follow Him above all else, so that your lives and, if it be His will, your marriage may reflect His design and bring honor to Him. May you be kept awake and steadfast, not as those who dream for a moment, but as those who live for what endures forever.
I ask this trusting in the mercy of God our Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
