We hear your heart's desire to move forward and we join with you in seeking God's will together in Jesus' name for freedom from the past and clarity for the future.
We understand how past mistakes can haunt us with guilt and fear, but we rejoice that when we bring our sins to God in true repentance, He fully forgives and cleanses us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 And as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 We gently rebuke the lie that you must remain haunted or defined by what is behind you, for that is the voice of the accuser and not the voice of our Father. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
God does not want you to live in regret but to press forward in His grace. Brothers, I don't regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14 And He promises, Don't remember the former things, and don't consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs out now. Don't you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:18-19
For your desire to see clearly and avoid future mistakes, we are encouraged because God promises to guide those who seek Him. I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you. Psalm 32:8 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 A stable and secure life is built not on our own perfection but on Christ Himself, who is our rock, and on walking in His wisdom day by day through His Word, prayer, and the counsel of godly believers. We also pray for your desire for richness in faith and connection to others whom you love, for God has created us for fellowship and love. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 He can redeem even past mistakes and use them to deepen your faith and your compassion for others.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You. We thank You for Your mercy that forgives every confessed sin and removes it completely. We ask that You quiet every haunting memory and accusation from the past and replace it with the peace of Your forgiveness. Give a clear mind and a tender heart to hear Your voice, to discern Your guidance, and to walk in wisdom so that future pitfalls are avoided. Establish this life on the firm foundation of Christ, making it stable and secure, not by outward circumstances but by inward faith. Cause faith to grow rich and deep through Your Word and through prayer, and restore and strengthen loving connections with others in healthy, godly fellowship. Lead forward into the new thing You are doing. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior. Amen.

Your prayer is a wise and humble one, and it is good that you have brought it before the Lord. What man is there on the face of the earth who does not make mistakes. We all make mistakes and therefore we imagine that God does the same, but He is without variableness or shadow of turning. He is perfect and cannot change, and His mercy and His counsel do not fail.
For your past mistakes, take comfort in this, that the blood of Jesus Christ, God's dear Son, cleanses us from all sin. If you have trusted Him, you are not beneath God's notice, for there is not a human being who is beneath His eye, and He has blotted out the transgressions of His people. Do not think that the Lord holds your past over you to haunt you. He chastens His children, but He never casts them out, for He still continues to teach them as His pupils. It is not a pleasant exercise to look back and see faults and blunders, but you will learn better by your mistakes than if you had never made them, when you bring them honestly to Christ and leave them at His cross. His is the love that will not let you go, and His grace is able to make even a brand plucked from the fire to be exhibited as a proof of what His mercy can do.
For guidance to avoid future mistakes, seek to be guided by the general directions given in God's Word, for His Word is preserved and speaks with freshness and force to us still. There are great principles infused in every man who takes God for his Guide, chief among them to avoid everything that is evil and to bow with submission to the will of God. By that very submission you are furnished with unerring guidance. Haste is the author of a great deal of mischief in human life, but when you yield yourself to the holy influences of God's presence and dwell near Him, there is given what men call shrewd common sense but what is truly an illumination of mind which comes from being made like Him. Look for His counsel in Scripture, in prayer, and in quiet waiting upon Him, and He will make your path clear.
For stability and security, remember that perfect stability has ceased from the world since the fall, and it belongs alone to God. He alone is immutable. There is no true glory or lasting security for any man who takes his own course, but on earth there is no real glory for us unless we are guided by His counsel, and afterward He will receive us to glory. Your life will become stable not because you become flawless, but because you are built upon One who does not change. Out of that stability will grow what you desire, a life rich in faith and rich in love toward those whom you love, for He teaches His pupils not only to wonder at His wondrous works but to declare them to others.
Let us pray together. O God, You have taught this dear soul from youth until this time, forgive what is past through the precious blood of Jesus, and let no former sin haunt where Christ has made atonement. Grant clear eyes to see Your counsel, a willing heart to obey Your Word, and a calm spirit to wait upon Your guidance and not run in haste. Establish this life upon Yourself, who alone are stable, that it may be secure in Your keeping and rich in faith, and fruitful in love and connection with others. Keep this one as Your pupil and make this one also to declare Your wondrous works, for Jesus sake. Amen.
