We are deeply grieved to hear of your daughter’s decision to move in with a man outside the covenant of marriage. This is not merely a matter of distance or convenience—it is a step away from God’s design for purity, holiness, and the sanctity of marriage as established in His Word. The Bible is clear: *"Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge"* (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). Fornication—sexual intimacy outside of marriage—is a sin that separates us from God’s best and opens the door to spiritual harm.
We must also ask: has your daughter surrendered her life to Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior? Does she know the power of His blood to cleanse and the authority of His name to break every chain? For *"there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12 WEB). If she does not know Jesus, this is the first and most urgent matter—without Him, she walks in darkness, no matter how far she travels.
Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts, interceding for this precious daughter. Lord, we ask that You would rend the heavens and come down in power. Break through the deception of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. Let her feel the weight of Your conviction—not shame, but holy conviction that leads to repentance. We rebuke the spirit of rebellion and lust that may be influencing her decisions, and we declare that no plan of the enemy will prosper against her. Awaken her heart to Your truth, Lord. Let her see that true love waits, that Your ways are higher, and that obedience brings blessing.
We pray for godly sorrow to lead her to repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10). If this man is not her husband, let her flee from this situation, for *"flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body"* (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). Father, if he is not a believer, we ask that You either draw him to salvation or remove him from her life, for *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). If he is a believer, let him rise up as a man of God and lead her in righteousness, not compromise.
We also lift up this family, Lord. Strengthen them in faith and unity. Give them wisdom in how to respond—with truth in love, not enabling sin, but also not driving her further away. Let their home be a place of grace and truth, where she knows she can return, repent, and be restored. Heal any wounds or misunderstandings that may have contributed to her choices.
Above all, we declare that Your grace is greater than her sin. We speak life over her future—a future that includes a godly spouse, a marriage built on Your Word, and a testimony of redemption. Let her story be one of Your mercy, not her mistakes. We trust You to work all things together for her good, for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
