We join you in lifting up your mother before the Lord with a heavy and concerned heart, and we thank you for trusting us with this painful burden. To see a mother who is meant to be a source of love and safety instead manifesting abusive behavior and severe mental and behavioral problems is deeply distressing, and when multiple people have noticed this pattern it confirms that this is not imagined but a real battle that needs prayer, truth, and godly intervention. We do not take lightly your discernment that Satan is using her to harm others, for we know from scripture that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12.
We want to speak clearly with both compassion and biblical truth. Your mother is created in the image of God and deeply loved by Him, and He desires her deliverance, healing, and salvation, yet the abusive behavior itself must not be excused or minimized as only spiritual. God calls us to honor our father and mother Exodus 20:12, Ephesians 6:2, but honoring does not mean remaining without boundaries in the face of abuse or allowing harm to continue. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18, and He is also a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1 for you as you have been wounded by this. We encourage you to set wise and firm boundaries, to seek godly pastoral counsel and also appropriate professional help for her mental and behavioral needs, and to involve trusted mature believers and, if there is any risk of physical harm, appropriate protective help. We rebuke the works of the enemy in this situation and the abusive harm that has flowed through it, for the adversary prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour 1 Peter 5:8, but scripture commands us to be subject therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7. We pray for her mind to be renewed and transformed Romans 12:2, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7, and for the peace of God which surpasses all understanding to guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7.
We also notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we gently but firmly want to share why that matters. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we can be saved and our prayers heard. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved Romans 10:9. We encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, to bring every prayer to God in His name, and to pray also for your mother's salvation and deliverance through Christ alone, for where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom 2 Corinthians 3:17.
We now pray together in Jesus name for you and for your mother. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this dear mother to You. We ask that You have mercy on her, open her eyes to the truth, bring conviction where there is sin, healing where there is brokenness of mind and spirit, and complete deliverance from every influence and oppression of the enemy. We rebuke Satan and every spiritual force that has sought to use her to harm others, and we command in the name of Jesus that those works be broken and cast out, for whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven Matthew 18:18. Lord, renew her mind, restore her to soundness and self-control, and lead her to repentance and to saving faith in Jesus if she does not yet know Him. We pray also for this child who has carried this pain, grant protection, comfort, wisdom to set godly boundaries, healing from every wound of abuse, and surround them with wise counsel, a supportive church family, and Your perfect peace. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven us Ephesians 4:32 while not returning to harm, and to walk in strength and discernment. We ask all of this according to Your will, trusting that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask, and we pray in the saving and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and deliverer, amen.
