My mother is severely emotionally and behaviorally disturbed and several people including myself have noticed that there seems to be a demonic element to her negative behavior. We have heard your burden for your mother and we join with you in bringing her before the throne of grace in Jesus' name. We understand how painful and heavy it is to watch someone you love struggle with deep emotional and behavioral disturbance, and to see her actions bring harm to those around her. We do not take lightly what you have shared about a possible demonic element, and we want to stand with you in both truth and love.
Scripture makes it clear that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. The enemy is real and he prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour 1 Peter 5:8, and he will use any open door, whether through wrong belief, unrepented sin, or giving place to the devil Ephesians 4:27. At the same time we must remember that the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.
We must gently address that your mother is described as a professing Christian who believes some very wrong things. This concerns us greatly, for even as we are to test the spirits, whether they are of God 1 John 4:1, we know that the time will come when people will not endure the sound doctrine, but having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts and will turn away their ears from the truth 2 Timothy 4:3-4. Wrong belief is not a small matter, it can give ground to deception and keep a person from walking in freedom, for you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32. All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness 2 Timothy 3:16, and we pray that she will be brought back to sound doctrine and to a true submission to Christ. We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to remind you with love that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved Romans 10:9. We pray that both you and your mother are truly abiding in Him, for greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4.
We encourage you to continue to honor your mother as God commands, Honor your father and your mother Exodus 20:12, while also walking in wisdom and setting godly boundaries so that you do not give the enemy further opportunity through bitterness or endless strife. Forgiveness and truth must go together. We urge you to not carry this battle alone but to bring it to faithful pastors or elders in a Bible believing church, that they may pray over her and counsel her, and to consider godly counsel for any emotional or behavioral needs, asking God for discernment to distinguish what is of the flesh, what may need care, and what is spiritual oppression. Be sober and watchful, put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil Ephesians 6:11, and remember the promise that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7.

Forgive us, but we can't help but to ask for still more grace, James 4:6, to share The Word with these elderly loved ones as they've been enabled to hear, Mk 4:33, for grace to honor our parents, Eph 6:1-3, the command with promises, it will go well with us and we'll live long in the land. Powerfully provide everything they need for life and godliness, 2 Peter 1:3, emotional & bodily health and prosperity, even as their souls prosper, 3 Jn 1:2. We ask they (and we) GROW in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, 2 Pet 3:18. Help them be established in the elementary principles of the Word of God, Heb 5:12, the foundational doctrines of the faith, Heb 6:1-3, and grow up into maturity, Eph 4:15, Col 1:10, culminating in love for You, others and fullness of the Holy Spirit's fruit, Phil 1:9-11; Gal 5:22-23.
We therefore ask FAITH comes from hearing the WORD, Rom 1:17, for Blessing, Honor, GRACE, Immediate HEALING, Ex 15:26, for our Patriarchal and Matriarchal Figures (and ourselves, kindly, Matt 7:7)... Kindly ask Healing at Present: Deliver us from evil, Matt 6:13: (hurt, harm, injury, sickness, sin and satan). In Jesus' Name we collectively rebuke sickness over matriarchal, Luke 4:39, and restrain evil people and the evil one from each, 2 Thes 3:2-3. Grant peace to be within their walls, Ps 122:7, even as we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, Ps 122:6, take us not out of the world, but keep us from the evil one, John 17:15, as You sanctify us in the truth of Your Word, John 17:17, wash us with the Water of The Word, Eph 5:26.
Open the eyes of our understanding with The Holy Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation, Eph 1:17-18, strengthen us by rooting and grounding us in love, that Christ dwells in our hearts by faith, Eph 3:16-19, and open our minds to not only understand the Scriptures, Luke 24:45, but to crave the sincere milk of the Word, 1 Peter 2:2, that we may grow thereby. Help us all to move from milk to solid food, 1 Cor 3:2. And help let the Word of Christ richly dwell within us, Col 3:6, spread rapidly and be glorified, 2 Thes 3:1 and become flesh, John 1:14. Help us receive FRESH TRUTHS day after day and night after night, Ps 19:1-2, Prov 2:6, and retain the Word, Ps 119:11, being effectual doers, not merely hearers, James 1:21-22. May this result in abiding communion with YOU, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit, 1 John 1:1-3, bear fruit of true discipleship by continuing in Your Word, John 8:31-32, making disciples, Matt 28:19-20, as Paul aspired to bear fruit among those beyond his sphere, Rom 1:13. Let us all taste the goodness of answered prayer by abiding in You and Your Words abiding in us, John 15:7-8 and make our joy complete, John 15:24. Your burden for your mother has been brought before the Lord and we join you in earnest prayer for her and for you.
We are moved by your sorrow to see one so near to you so disturbed in mind and behaviour, professing faith in Christ yet holding to things that are not according to the truth, and causing hurt to those around her. We do not take lightly the thought that the enemy may have advantage where error and sin are entertained, for we know that our deliverance in all such affliction is by divine power alone. It is of small use for those afflicted in mind to look to man if their distress is spiritual, for only God can deliver them. He who brought Israel out of Egypt with a mighty hand is able still to batter the dungeon door and bring the captive out into liberty.
We pray that the Lord will look upon your mother with tender pity, as a father pities his children, and especially upon those who are tried and troubled. We ask that He will show her the difference between a mere profession and that living, loving, lasting union with the Lord Jesus Christ which alone is life. Apart from Him we are lost, ruined and undone, but living contact with Him is our only hope for the present and for the future. May the Holy Spirit convince her of any wrong doctrine she has believed, and bring her to lay hold on Christ Himself and upon His atonement by blood, and upon the infallible truth of Scripture. Where there has been ground given to the adversary, may the Lord in mercy rebuke the evil one, cleanse, heal and restore, and clothe her in her right mind at the feet of Jesus.
We pray also for you and for all who are near to her, that the Lord will keep you from harm, give you wisdom, and guard your hearts from bitterness. If any lacks wisdom let him ask of God, who gives liberally, and He will not leave the seeking soul be mired and be puzzled. May He teach you to perceive that even smarts and sorrows may come by your Father's hand for your good, and to say, the will of the Lord be done, while you continue steadfast in prayer, in the Word, and in godly counsel.
O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this mother. Bring her out of darkness into Thy marvellous light. Grant her repentance toward Thee and living faith in Thy Son, that she may love Thee as Thou hast loved Thy people, and walk in the truth. Protect this family from the enemy's devices, fill them with Thy peace, and let this trial turn to Thy praise. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, who is our life and our deliverance. Amen.

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you through Jesus Christ alone, who is our only hope and salvation. We lift up this mother to you. You know her heart, her struggles, and the beliefs that have led her away from your truth. We ask that you have mercy on her and draw her into the light of your truth. Where there is confusion, bring clarity. Where there is bondage or influence of the enemy, we ask in the name of Jesus that you break its power and set her free. Heal what is wounded in her emotions and mind, and renew her by your Holy Spirit to love what is true and good.
We pray for this son or daughter and for all who are affected by this situation. Grant wisdom to know how to honor a parent while also walking in truth and love. Give strength to set healthy boundaries, courage to speak graciously, and protection from harm. Guard their hearts from bitterness and fill them with compassion, patience, and discernment. Help this family to remain united in prayer and to walk closely with your church for support and accountability.
