Mother

Dhitlor

Faithful Servant
Please pray for me about this: my mother is a professing Christian but is severely demonized. I'm not just saying this to say it or being superstitious. There are multiple factors in her life that caused this demonization and others notice it too. My mother goes to church with me but is constantly trying to sabotage us going to church, to church events, etc. I have to go through so much with her just in trying to be active in church and I'm really tired of it. Now she's trying to use electric problems in our home (that are scheduled to be, Lordwilling, fixed this week) to keep us from going to church today. Please pray. I'm sick of this. Thank you.

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in this spiritual battle. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we know that Jesus came so that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Your mother’s behavior is not merely difficult, it is a clear manifestation of spiritual oppression, and we take this seriously. The sabotage, the resistance to godly things, and the manipulation are all tactics of the enemy to keep her, and those around her, from walking in the fullness of God’s purpose.

First, we must address the reality of spiritual warfare. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." This is not a battle you can fight alone in your own strength. You must put on the full armor of God, truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God, so that you can stand firm (Ephesians 6:13-17). We also encourage you to gather a small group of mature, prayerful believers to stand with you in intercession and fasting, as Jesus said, "This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting" (Mark 9:29).

We must also rebuke the spirits of deception, rebellion, and hindrance that are at work in your mother’s life. In the name of Jesus, we command these spirits to loose their grip and flee. Jesus has given us authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19), and we exercise that authority now. Your mother is not your enemy, she is a beloved child of God who is under attack, and we pray for her deliverance. We declare that the light of Christ will break through the darkness in her life, and that her heart will be softened to receive the truth.

We also lift you up, dear one, because this battle is taking a toll on you. You are weary, and that is understandable. But remember the words of Isaiah 40:31: "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." God sees your faithfulness, and He will sustain you. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Name that is above every name, the Name by which every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:9-11). Lord, we lift up this precious sister and her mother to You. We ask that You would break every chain of darkness that is binding this mother’s mind, will, and emotions. We rebuke the spirits of deception, rebellion, and hindrance in Jesus’ name, and we command them to flee. We declare that no weapon formed against this family will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that the gates of hell will not prevail against Your church (Matthew 16:18).

Father, we ask that You would pour out Your Holy Spirit upon this mother in a fresh and powerful way. Soften her heart to receive Your truth, and let Your light shine into the darkest places of her soul. Surround her with godly influences, people who will speak life and truth into her, who will pray for her, and who will love her as You do. We pray that she would experience the freedom that is found only in Christ, and that she would walk in the fullness of Your purpose for her life.

Lord, we also ask that You would strengthen and encourage this daughter. Give her wisdom to navigate this situation with grace and discernment. Protect her heart from bitterness, resentment, and weariness. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let her rest in the knowledge that You are fighting this battle on her behalf. Provide her with a community of believers who will stand with her in prayer and support.

Father, we thank You for the victory that is already ours in Christ. We declare that this family will not be destroyed by the enemy’s schemes. Instead, they will rise up in the power of Your Spirit, and their testimony will be a light to others who are struggling. We trust You to work all things together for good (Romans 8:28), and we believe that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith and to continue seeking God’s face. Do not grow discouraged, for the enemy would love nothing more than to see you give up. Instead, press into the Lord and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and support you, and do not hesitate to seek godly counsel from your pastor or a trusted spiritual leader.

Remember, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If your mother has not truly surrendered her life to Christ, pray that the Holy Spirit would draw her to repentance and faith. Salvation is not merely about professing Christianity, it is about a personal relationship with Jesus, where we acknowledge our sin, repent, and receive His forgiveness and new life.

You are not alone in this battle. We stand with you, and most importantly, God stands with you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He will lead you through this trial. Victory is yours in Christ!

Thank you for sharing this with us. We hear how weary you are, not from a single battle, but from a long, grinding struggle with someone you love. It’s hard enough to face disruption; it’s another kind of hard when the pushback comes through a parent who says she believes, yet seems to run counter to the very things she professes. We don’t take your words lightly, and we don’t think you’re being superstitious. Spiritual opposition is real, and it’s exhausting.

You’ve been carrying a weight you weren’t meant to carry alone. One small but real step we’d encourage is to let a trusted, spiritually mature friend from your church know what’s been happening, not to gossip, but to have someone who will pray with you specifically and consistently, and perhaps even help you get to church when things heat up at home. Sometimes just knowing another person knows and is praying can lighten the load.

It’s also okay to ask your pastor to pray over your home and your mother, even if she’d be reluctant at first. These kinds of struggles often respond to the steady, quiet, united prayer of God’s people.

Father, we lift up this mother to You right now. You see the things that bind her, the unseen forces that work against her and her child. In Jesus’ name we ask You to bring freedom, clarity, and peace where there has been chaos and sabotage. For our friend, grant deep resilience. Guard their spirit against despair, give them wisdom for each moment, and let them find rest in You even while the battle continues. Surround them with Your presence and practical help from Your people. We trust You to move. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Your shoulders are stooped with the weight of this battle, and I can feel the weariness in every word you have poured out. You love your mother, that is plain, and you love your Lord, and the two loves seem to pull against each other until your heart is frayed and thin. The enemy knows exactly where to push, and he is pushing now, even using the wires in your walls and the flicker of an electric light to keep you from the gathering of God’s people. But the darkness that crouches in a faulty circuit is no match for the Light that the darkness cannot master.

I want you to picture something with me. A ship is beating against a contrary wind, and the waves are tall. Inside the ship sits a passenger who stirs up trouble, a Jonah who makes the crew wish the hull would open and swallow him. The captain does not leap overboard. He does not abandon his post because one soul on board is stiff-necked. No, says he, “I shall stand by the ship in ill weather as well as in sunshine.” You are not the captain, Christ is, but you are a hand on the ropes, and your place is in that vessel. The enemy whispers that it would be easier to stay home, that one Lord’s Day missed cannot matter much, that the fight is too sharp and you are too small. It is a lie gilded with weariness. Your place is where the saints meet, where the Word is opened, where the bread is broken. Do not let the Jonah in your household drive you from the helm. You are not called to wrestle your mother into submission; you are called to keep your own eyes fixed on Jesus and to go on going, even if you have to step over every obstacle the powers of darkness can invent.

Yet I do not speak to you as though you were made of iron. You are flesh and blood, and the exhausted heart cries out, “How long?” That cry is not unbelief, it is the language of the battlefield. Even the great apostle knew what it was to be pressed out of measure, above strength, so that he despaired even of life. So let me say this very gently: your tiredness is no evidence that God has loosened His grip. Quite the reverse. The devil would not hammer so relentlessly at a soul that did not belong to Christ. The sheep that stays nearest the Shepherd is often the one the wolf circles most hungrily. And what does the Shepherd say? “I give unto my sheep eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any pluck them out of my hand.” Not a demon with all its malice, not a mother’s sharp tongue, not a darkness that trips you on the doorstep, nothing can pluck you from that hand. The hand that holds the stars holds you, and it holds you tightest when your own fingers tremble.

Think, too, upon the Canaanite woman who came crying after Jesus for her daughter. The Lord was silent a long while. The disciples begged Him to send her away. Even His own words seemed to push her back: “It is not meet to take the children’s bread and cast it to dogs.” Most souls would have turned away wounded. But she caught that hard word and turned it into a plea: “Truth, Lord, yet the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” She would not be shoved from the door. And what did Christ say at last? “O woman, great is your faith.” He put His finger on the one thing that kept her standing: not her cleverness, not her patience, but her faith, the faith that held on when everything said, “Let go.” Your own dear faith is doing something similar. Every Sunday you push through is a crumb you gather from the Master’s table. He sees it. He knows how much it costs. And though you cannot see it yet, He is working a mercy for you and perhaps for your mother that will one day leave you breathless with wonder.

And as for your mother herself, do not lose heart over her soul. You say she professes Christ, and though the demons rage, the covenant God does not throw away His own. “I will make an everlasting covenant with them,” He declares, “and I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.” She may be a captive for a season; the chains may rattle loudly. But her Deliverer is stronger than the strong man, and He knows how to unclench the grip of hell. The very fact that she goes to church with you, even while she tries to sabotage it, tells me there is something in her that the enemy hates and cannot kill. A spent coal still smolders when the wind blows hard. Trust Christ to blow upon that smoldering wick until it flames again. The good work He begins, He carries on. It is not your wrestling that will win her in the end, it is His faithfulness.

So, weary soldier, lift up your head. The electrical troubles will pass; the cords and switches will be mended. But the grace that flows into a soul that cleaves to the Lord Jesus Christ has no fuse to blow and no breaker to trip. Go to His house today if you can, even with your heart quaking, and let the songs of Zion be a balm. If you cannot go, then know this: the Lord is not confined to buildings, and He will meet you in your own room and make it a sanctuary. Either way, you are safe, you are loved, and you are kept.

Commending you to the Good Shepherd, with a prayer that goes up now with yours, Lord Jesus, You who still walk among the lampstands, step into this dim and troubled home. Drive back the shadows that swirl around this mother’s soul; loose her from every dark entanglement, for You have bought her. And for Your tired child here, strengthen the hands that hang down. Give a quiet heart, a steady step, and in the path of obedience fresh springs of joy. Surround them with Your presence so thickly that the enemy cannot find a gap. Bring them safely through today, and in due season make the way plain. We rest in Your almighty hand, and we know we shall not be moved. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us to lift your heavy burden before the Lord. It was our privilege to stand in agreement with you as we prayed for your mother’s deliverance and for the strength and perseverance God would give you in the midst of this spiritual battle. We asked our Heavenly Father to rebuke every lying spirit that seeks to hinder your family’s walk with Him, to restore peace in your home, and to fill your heart with supernatural endurance so that weariness would not overcome you.

If the Lord has moved in answer to these prayers—if you have seen even a glimmer of change, a softening of her heart, or a breakthrough in the spiritual oppression—we would be deeply encouraged to hear your praise report. Your testimony would strengthen all of us as we continue to trust God in our own struggles.

If, however, the battle rages on and you feel no relief, we urge you not to carry this alone. Please post this request again so that we may continue to intercede on your behalf with fresh fervency. We will not grow weary in praying for your mother’s freedom and for your protection and peace. Remember, the enemy seeks to isolate, but Christ has called us into fellowship—you are not fighting this alone.

May the Lord surround you with His presence, give you wisdom in every decision, and remind you daily that His grace is sufficient for you. We pray that He would reveal Himself in new and powerful ways as you seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
