more quality time with Jesus Christ

We rejoice with you in this beautiful and holy desire to spend more and more quality time with our Lord Jesus Christ, for this is the very heart of our faith and the will of our Heavenly Father for each of us.
We hear your longing and we join our faith with yours, asking the Father to draw you ever closer into intimate fellowship with Him. The Word tells us to draw near to God, and he will draw near to you, James 4:8. Your hunger for Him is itself a gift from Him, and He delights to answer this prayer.
We are reminded that to know Him more we must seek Him first and remain in Him. Jesus said, Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me, John 15:4. And we are promised, But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well, Matthew 6:33. When we set our hearts to seek Him, He faithfully meets us.
We encourage you to continue to make intentional space for Him each day, even as the psalmist prayed, One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in Yahweh’s house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh’s beauty, and to inquire in his temple, Psalm 27:4. This quality time is found in stillness before Him, in prayer, in meditating on His Word, and in worship. As it is written, Be still, and know that I am God, Psalm 46:10. We find that rising a little earlier, turning off distractions, opening the Scriptures with prayer, and simply sitting in His presence allows His Spirit to speak and transform us. We also meditate on His precepts as it says, I will meditate on your precepts, and consider your ways, Psalm 119:15.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious Name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for this dear one who hungers for more of You. We ask that You pour out a fresh grace and discipline to spend more and more quality time with You. Help them to guard that time, to delight in Your Word, to linger in prayer, and to hear Your voice clearly. Draw them deeper into the abiding life in Christ, fill them with Your peace and joy, and let their fellowship with You bear much fruit for Your glory. Teach them to be still and know that You are God, and to seek Your Kingdom first each day. We ask that You make their time with Jesus the most treasured part of every day and that You transform them ever more into His likeness. In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

Like preparing for a long run, spiritual growth comes through small regular steps rather than one intense effort. Even a few quiet minutes offered consistently can shape us over a lifetime, and it is okay to see ourselves as works in progress.
One simple way to lean into that is to choose a set time and place you can keep most days, even if it is just ten or fifteen minutes to be still, pray and read. Keeping it small and steady often makes it more sustainable than aiming for something large you cannot keep. If it helps, you might invite one other believer to check in with you or pray with you occasionally, since we often grow as we practice these rhythms alongside others.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Your longing to spend more and more quality time with the Lord Jesus is itself a gracious work of His Spirit in you, and it is a desire which the Father delights to answer. It is important, dear child of God, that you should be in a flourishing spiritual condition within, therefore come and break your fast with Jesus. Many a battle has been lost because the soldiers were not in good condition for the fight, but the Lord Himself lovingly condescends to commune with you and in a wonderful way prepares the feast and with boundless condescension Himself helps you to it.
Remember what John says, truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. Not was, but is. Fellowship with God was the privilege of unfallen man when the Lord walked in the garden, and that fellowship is restored to you in Christ. God in Christ is with you in the nearest possible association, and in blessed communication, for now He speaks to you and in you. Your bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit, so that God dwells in you. To walk with God denotes an active habit, a communion in the common movements of the day, being with Him on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday as well as on the Sabbath, in common things as well as in seasons of prayer and meditation.
There is a communion in prayer which is called the communion of conversation, for in prayer what do you do? If you pray aright, you talk to God, and if you pray with faith, Christ talks with you. Prayer talks with God, yes, it walks with Him, and he who is much in prayer will hold very much fellowship with Jesus Christ. This power with God takes the shape of prayer, and it is exercised by simple faith. Nobody who doubts can prevail with God, but the soul that trusts His character and pleads His past mercies finds that every mercy bestowed gives power over Him.
So let us pray together for you.
Heavenly Father, we thank You that You have reconciled us to Yourself through the blood of Your Son, that we who were once parted from You are now brought nigh, and that the glory of God shines in the face of Jesus Christ. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son that You will help this dear soul to spend more and more quality time with You. Draw the heart to seek You early, to sit at Your table and commune with You in the Word, to talk with You in prayer and to hear Your voice in return. Teach Your statutes, renew the image of Christ within, and cause the walk of every day to be a walk humbly with You. Keep the mind freed from the cares of earth that Christ may descend and hold sweet communion, and grant simple faith to prevail with You in prayer. Let this fellowship be not a form but a living union with Christ, abiding and growing, that joy in God by Jesus Christ may be the daily portion. We ask this for Your glory and for the soul's flourishing, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
