Your desire to spend more and more quality time with the Lord is itself a good gift, and I thank God that He has put this hunger in your heart. I join you in prayer and ask the Heavenly Father to increase this longing and to help you guard time for Him each day in the Name of Jesus Christ.

May the Father draw you closer as you call upon the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ with a sincere heart. He sanctifies us and cleanses us, and He delights when His children seek Him not out of duty alone but out of love.

To keep this desire alive, set apart a fixed time and place to be with Him and protect it. Deck that time with prayer, with reading Scripture, with quiet supplication and even with watching in prayer when you can. If we give ourselves wholly to these things and spend our time in them, we not only turn from what hinders us but we gain great profit for the life to come. While we have opportunity, let us gather oil in abundance by storing up what we hear from Him, so that when we most need it, we will have confidence and strength. Do not be discouraged if it requires effort and discipline, for the Christian life is a contest that is made perfect through faithfulness, and there is another season for rest. The Lord sees your poverty and your honest labor and your love for Him, and He will honor the time you give to Him.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ Your Son, draw this dear one closer to You. Help them to make time for You each day, to listen to Your Word, to pray with a pure heart, and to walk with You in quiet trust. Keep away distraction and sloth, and fill their time with You with peace and joy. Teach them to seek You first, and let their fellowship with Christ grow deeper and more constant. Grant this by Your grace and love toward us in our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
