more quality time with Jesus Christ

We join with you in this beautiful and godly desire to spend more and more quality time with our Lord Jesus Christ, and we rejoice that your heart is longing to draw closer to Him. This hunger for His presence is itself a gift from the Father, for it is He who draws us to seek Him.

The Scripture encourages us in this pursuit, for it says, Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. James 4:8 and also, Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10. True quality time with Him is not rushed or distracted, but still, intentional, and abiding. Jesus Himself said, Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. John 15:4. To remain is to linger with Him daily in prayer, in His Word, and in quiet worship.

We encourage you to seek first His Kingdom and to set apart a specific time and place each day to meet with Him, free from distractions, even as the psalmist prayed, One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in Yahweh’s house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh’s beauty, and to inquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4. As you do, remember the promise, But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33. When we put Him first, He honors that time and speaks to our hearts and transforms us to be more like Christ.

We now pray together for you.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the precious and powerful Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the hunger You have placed in our dear fellow believer to spend more quality time with You. Father, we ask that You help him to draw near to You with a sincere and devoted heart. Teach him to be still before You, to listen for Your still small voice, and to delight in Your Word. Remove every distraction, every weariness, and every hindrance that would keep him from Your presence. Fill his time with You with joy, peace, and revelation, and let him grow in intimacy and knowledge of Your Son Jesus. Help him to remain in the vine and to bear much fruit for Your glory. Draw him ever closer, Lord, and let his life be a reflection of walking closely with You each day. We ask all of this in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We love your heart in this request, that hunger for more real, unhurried time with Jesus is itself something God has put in you, and we are grateful to pray with you for it.

We have found quality time with Him grows less through pressure and more through a small, steady rhythm we can actually keep. Worry and busyness never create more space, but coming to Him in prayer and quietly resting in His Word does slowly change how we think and how we experience His presence. It becomes less about checking a box and more about being with Him.

One simple way to build on the desire you already have is to choose one consistent window, even just fifteen minutes, at the same time and place each day. Leave your phone aside, read a short passage slowly, talk honestly with the Lord about what you read and what is on your heart, and give a minute or two to just be still before Him. If mornings are crowded, an evening or lunch break works just as well, consistency matters more than length.

Father, we thank You for this desire to be closer to You. Draw our friend into deeper fellowship with Jesus, make Your presence known as they seek You, and help them find and protect quiet time with You each day. Give them a continued love for Your Word and for prayer, and let that time bear fruit in peace and joy. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

It is a blessed and holy desire which the Lord himself has kindled in your heart, to spend more and more quality time with Him, and we will rejoice to bring it before the throne of grace.

Our Savior says still as he did by the sea of Tiberias, Come and break your fast. He is thoughtful of your wants and he spreads for you the same simple, nourishing food with which he always feeds his people. Many a battle has been lost because soldiers were not in good condition for the fight, and you need stamina if you are to do hard and long work for Jesus and his truth. Do not be content with an outward and mechanical religion, where you are near to Christ in hearing and yet have no inward touching of his blessed person. What is needed is real contact, a mysterious touching of the Savior by faith, so that a stream of life and love flows from him to you. As it is written, they came and saw where he dwelt and abode with him that day, for it was about the tenth hour. The best part of that day was the portion which they spent with Jesus, and having once lived with him they learned never to live without him. Like Nicodemus who came to Jesus by night when the business of the day was over and all was quiet, seek a quiet hour to be alone with him.

Do not let business or amusement or the cares of this world set Jesus at nothing and steal this time away. Prove him with your hard questions and your daily burdens alike. Come to him as you did at the first, as a sinner needing his atonement, and come to him as your life. Open the Book, tarry in prayer, still your heart and say, Lord, show thyself to me, and he will answer, He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we thank thee for this hunger after thyself. Help thy child to spend more and more quality time with thee. Draw him to thy presence morning and evening, give grace to shut the door and to wait upon thee, to hear thy voice in the Scripture and to pour out the heart in prayer. Keep him from mere form and bring him into living fellowship with thy Son. Feed him with the bread of life, refresh him, strengthen him for every duty and trial, and let abiding with Jesus be the joy and habit of his life. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
