Hello let me start by saying how thankful I am for all of you on this site who have taken time out to pray for me and my family it means so much to me. I am here to ask for more prayers so I can make healthier choices each day and love myself and my body more. I just turned ### ### and I am grateful the Lord has blessed me with another year of life. I am starting to feel guilty for all of the unhealthy choices I make each day like smoking and eating junk food and not exercising or taking care of myself. I am afraid I will stay on this destructive path and end up seriously hurt or worse. I have been struggling with drinking redbulls and vaping and smoking cigarettes. Also I struggle with eating fast food and candy and stuff that is just no good for me. My doctor told me I had high blood pressure yesterday so now I'm getting concerned. I also have a gym membership but the only thing I have done there is use the tanning bed which they said I can't use anymore unless I pay more so I was considering cancelling my membership but I don't know what I should do. Life is hard and I don't want to keep making it harder on myself I need God to give me the strength and discipline to make better choices. Lord thank you for this gift of life Lord please forgive me for harming my body and I am asking for you to please strengthen me and help me with self control and discipline so I can glorify you with my body in Jesus mighty name Amen

We hear your heart, and we stand with you before the Lord, lifting up your desire to honor Him with your body and choices. Your honesty about the struggle is a powerful first step, one that God can use to bring transformation. The Word tells us, "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own. For you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). You are not alone in this battle; we all face temptations that seek to pull us away from God’s best. But the good news is that His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9), and He is faithful to provide a way out of every temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13).

We rebuke the spirit of addiction and self-destruction that has taken hold of your habits. Smoking, vaping, excessive caffeine, and poor eating are not just "bad choices", they are strongholds that grieve the Holy Spirit and harm the temple He has entrusted to you. The high blood pressure is a wake-up call, but it is also an opportunity for God to intervene and restore what has been broken. We declare that your body is being renewed day by day (2 Corinthians 4:16), and that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in you (Ephesians 1:19-20). The enemy wants you to believe that change is impossible, but we proclaim that "with God, all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26).

We also want to gently address the tanning bed use. While it may seem harmless, we are called to care for our bodies as stewards of God’s creation. The pursuit of artificial beauty can become an idol, distracting us from the true source of our worth in Christ. Instead of canceling your gym membership, we encourage you to use it as a tool for discipline, even if it’s just a short walk or light workout to start. Small steps lead to lasting change. Remember, "physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come" (1 Timothy 4:8). Your health is not just about appearance; it’s about honoring God and being equipped to serve Him fully.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is crying out for change. Lord, You see the struggle, the guilt, and the fear, and You do not turn away. We ask that You break every chain of addiction and unhealthy habit in their life. Replace the cravings for junk food, nicotine, and caffeine with a hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6). Give them the strength to resist temptation and the wisdom to make choices that honor You. Heal their body from the effects of poor habits, and restore their blood pressure to healthy levels. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Father, we ask that You renew their mind (Romans 12:2) and help them see themselves as You see them, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Remove the guilt and shame that the enemy uses to keep them stuck, and replace it with Your love and forgiveness. Give them the discipline to use their gym membership for its intended purpose, not for vanity, but for stewardship. Surround them with godly accountability and encouragement. Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You are making all things new in their life (Revelation 21:5). Strengthen their spirit, mind, and body so they can run the race You have set before them with endurance (Hebrews 12:1).

We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. We trust that You are working in this situation, and we declare victory in Jesus’ name. May our brother/sister walk in the freedom and health that You have promised. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

You are not defined by your past choices or current struggles. God is calling you to a higher standard, not out of condemnation, but out of love. Start today by replacing one unhealthy habit with a godly one. For example, when you crave a Red Bull, pray instead and ask God for natural energy. When you want to smoke, call a friend or read Scripture. Small victories lead to big breakthroughs. You are not alone in this journey; we are here to support you, and more importantly, God is with you every step of the way. Keep pressing forward, and remember that "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus" (Philippians 1:6).

We’re so glad you shared this, especially on the heels of your birthday. That kind of milestone has a way of stirring both gratitude and a restless, honest look at the habits you’ve let slide, and we can hear both in your words. The guilt you’re carrying feels heavy, but what also comes through is a real desire to honor the life God has given you, and that longing itself is something to hold onto, not to despise.

When you’re facing a list of changes, smoking, vaping, fast food, the gym membership you aren’t using, a new blood pressure concern, it’s easy to feel paralyzed. We’ve found that lasting change rarely comes through a giant, willpower-fueled overhaul. Often it starts with one small, doable shift that doesn’t depend on feeling motivated. Maybe for you that looks like walking into the gym for ten minutes on the treadmill before you even consider the tanning bed, or swapping one daily Red Bull for a glass of water. It’s not about fixing everything at once; it’s about practicing one choice that pushes back against the old pattern, and letting that small victory build a new kind of momentum.

You mentioned your doctor told you about high blood pressure. That’s a real gift, a concrete signal to act. We’d encourage you to follow up and ask for practical guidance. Let them help you map out a few realistic steps, alongside the prayer and the inner work you’re doing. And please don’t walk this alone. A trusted friend, a small group, or even an exercise partner can make the struggle feel less isolating and more like a shared journey.

Father, thank you for the life you’ve given this person and for the desire to care for it well. Meet them right where the guilt and the good intentions collide, and gently build their strength and self-control day by day. Give them wisdom to take the first small step, and the courage to reach for help when they need it. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Your petition has reached the throne of grace, and I am glad to join my prayers with yours. Yet as you plead for strength, let me press this truth upon your heart: your body is not your own; it is a sacred stewardship entrusted to you by the Master, and He will call for an account of how you have used it. The warning of your physician is no accident, it is the Lord’s own discipline, a loving mercy to rouse you from a destructive carelessness. Whereas once you could neglect the temple of the Holy Spirit and feel no smart, now your own flesh sounds the alarm. Do not despise this chastening, for blessed is the man whom the Lord corrects.

You have kept other vineyards but left your own unguarded. The cravings for smoke and sweetened poisons, the neglect of the frame God designed for activity, these are not trifles. To idle in this stewardship, to grow casual with the gift of health, dishonors the Giver and harms the praise He would receive in your body. The man who says, “I will do as I please,” sets self-will at the helm, and self-will is the root of deepest grief. But when you yield wholly to God’s discipline, the bitterness is drained from the cup. Humble yourself under His mighty hand, confess the sin of self-indulgence as no small thing, and He will lift you up. He resists the proud but gives grace to the lowly.

Do not trust in your own resolutions, they are ropes of sand. Look to the love of Christ to overcome you. His love constrains us to live not for ourselves but for Him who died and rose again. There is a holy violence in prayer born of love; wrestle with Him who is Goodness itself, and you will prevail. Cry to Him who groaned in Gethsemane and wore a crown of thorns for your redemption; plead His blood-bought ownership until you hate the sins that nailed Him there. The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead will quicken your mortal body by His indwelling power, giving you self-control as a fruit of His presence.

Yet be not deceived: the path of discipline requires daily watchfulness. Examine yourself each evening as a steward expecting his Lord’s return. Let no secret sin escape the light. The most seasoned soldier must still count the cost anew each morning, lest he fall asleep at his post. Your gym membership, your diet, the very air you breathe, lay each decision before the Lord, asking not what is allowed but what is profitable for His kingdom. You have a high calling: to glorify God in your body. The outward man may groan under the discipline, but the inward man is renewed day by day as you lean on Christ.

Take courage. The very fear you feel is proof the Spirit has not abandoned you. Go now, keep your vineyard with trembling yet with hope, for your labor is not in vain in the Lord. And when you stumble, do not wallow in guilt, but return quickly to the cross, where forgiveness flows and strength is renewed. Our body and our charge we lay down only when we receive the crown; until then, let us work and live for Jesus.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The guilt you feel is not meant to crush you but to awaken you. It is the prick of the physician’s lance, draining the infection before it spreads. You see the destructive path clearly now, the smoking, the drinks that agitate the heart, the foods that weigh down the flesh, the idleness that leaves the body unexercised. The doctor’s warning of high blood pressure is a mercy, a trumpet call to battle. Do not let it drive you to despair; let it drive you to action.

You ask for strength and discipline, and rightly so, for these are gifts from God. Yet you must also understand the incredible power of habit that He has placed within your nature. A bad habit, once entrenched, seems like a chain of iron, but it can be broken and reforged into a chain of gold. I have often said that if you set watchers over yourself, your family, a trusted friend, and you resolve to abstain from these things for just ten days, you will find the grip of the old desires loosened. After that short time, the new habit begins to take root, and what once seemed impossible becomes second nature, as easy as breathing. So, do not keep this struggle alone in your heart. Tell your family. Ask someone to hold you accountable daily. Flee from the places that tempt you.

Consider your body not as your own possession to use as you please. It is a member of Christ, a temple of the Holy Spirit. When you harm it with smoke and poisons and sluggishness, you neglect a member of His body. Would you see a sore festering on your own hand and say, “What care I?” Yet you have done this to your own flesh. True exercise of the body does profit a little, but godliness is profitable for all things. However, caring for this vessel is part of your godliness, because a soul weighed down by a sick and weakened body struggles to rise to prayer and virtue. So, do not cancel your gym membership as a mere cost-saving; go there to sweat and to strengthen the body you have so long neglected, for this too can become a holy habit.

Above all, do not think you can bargain with God by a short season of restraint. Many people fast or deny themselves for forty days and then plunge back into the same indulgences, as if they were in sport. This is not repentance; it is a mockery. The change must be a daily dying and rising. Every morning you must renew your vow. When the craving arises, do not merely fight it with willpower; turn your mind immediately to prayer, even if for a moment, and fill the mouth with a psalm instead of smoke. Reckon the cost: a few moments of pleasure against a life of health or sudden death.

Do not pursue this discipline as a hireling, merely to escape an early grave. That is too low a motive, though in His kindness God stoops to use it. Aim higher. Love self-control for its own beauty, because it makes you fit to glorify God with your body and serve your neighbor without hindrance. When you begin to taste the pure pleasure of a body that is light, a mind that is clear, and a conscience that is unburdened, you will wonder why you ever loved the poison.

The world around you is like a room full of men with dropsy, all puffed up and inflamed by their lusts. You are called to walk among them as a physician, applying the remedies of Scripture and a sober life. But you cannot heal others if you yourself are sick with the same disease. Arm yourself now, while you have the warning. You have already crossed the threshold by confessing your sin and asking for prayer. Now take the next step today: throw away the cigarettes and the sweet drinks, cook a simple meal at home, and walk a mile. If you fall, do not wait until next week to begin again; begin again at once. The Lord is ready to strengthen you, but He expects you to stretch out your own hand.
