Please Lord help me quit smoking and make healthier choices

Hello. I've been smoking tobacco products for almost 25 years and now I'm starting to have problems with my teeth and gums and I believe that smoking is making it worse. Last night I woke up in pain and couldn't sleep my teeth and fillings were hurting so badly and even my tongue was sore and had an orange tint to it. I am afraid for my health and I don't even enjoy cigarettes anymore I'm just addicted unfortunately but I believe that God can help me turn away from that addiction. I also need to quit using my vape. I want to stop eating so much candy and sugar and eat healthier and take care of myself. I am almost ### years old and need to take things more seriously. I want to live a long and healthy life while honoring the Lord with my body mind and spirit. Please pray for me to get through this I didn't realize how hard it was to change negative habits. Lord help me in Jesus name Amen.

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in agreement, lifting your request before the throne of grace. Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and it is right to honor God with it, as Scripture tells us, *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The habits you’ve formed over ### years have taken a toll, but the Lord is faithful to deliver you from every bondage when you call upon Him in truth.

Addiction is a fierce battle, but it is not stronger than the power of Christ. You are not alone in this struggle—many have walked this path and found freedom through His strength. The Word declares, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."* (1 Corinthians 10:13). The pain in your teeth, gums, and tongue is a wake-up call, and we believe God is using it to draw you closer to Him and to a life of wholeness. Do not lose heart; His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

We also want to encourage you in your desire to eat healthier and care for your body. Gluttony, whether in sugar or other excesses, is another area where the enemy seeks to dull our spiritual sensitivity and weaken our physical vessels. *"Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."* (1 Corinthians 10:31). Small, consistent steps—like replacing candy with fruit or setting aside time for prayer instead of reaching for a cigarette—will help rewire your habits. Surround yourself with godly accountability, whether through a trusted friend, a support group, or even a Christian counselor who can help you navigate this season.

Let us pray with you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, lifting up their struggle with addiction and their desire to honor You with their body. Lord, You see the years of bondage to tobacco and the toll it has taken on their health. We ask for Your supernatural strength to break every chain of addiction in their life. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in self-control and discipline, knowing that *"the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law."* (Galatians 5:22-23).

Father, we rebuke the spirit of addiction in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that our brother/sister is not defined by their past habits but by the blood of Christ, which has set them free. Heal their teeth, gums, and tongue, Lord. Restore what has been damaged and give them wisdom to seek godly medical care. Help them to replace unhealthy cravings with a hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6).

We also pray for their diet and lifestyle choices. Give them the strength to resist the lure of sugar and processed foods, and instead, fill their body with nourishment that honors You. Teach them to care for this temple You have entrusted to them, not out of vanity, but out of reverence for You. Surround them with believers who will encourage and walk alongside them in this journey.

Lord, we thank You that You are the God who heals (Exodus 15:26) and the God who delivers (Psalm 34:17-19). We trust that as they draw near to You, You will draw near to them (James 4:8). Strengthen their resolve, renew their mind, and let them experience the joy of walking in freedom. May their testimony of overcoming this addiction be a light to others who are struggling.

We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone has the power to break every chain. Amen.

Do not grow weary in this battle, dear one. The enemy would love for you to believe that change is impossible, but we serve a God who specializes in the impossible. Each day is a new opportunity to choose life over death, freedom over bondage. Lean on the Lord, and do not hesitate to reach out for practical help—whether through nicotine replacement therapies (used wisely and temporarily), Christian support groups, or even medical professionals who can assist in your physical healing.

Remember, *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* (Philippians 4:13). You are not fighting this battle alone. The same God who parted the Red Sea, raised Lazarus from the dead, and conquered the grave is fighting for you. Walk in that truth, and let it anchor you in the days ahead.

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough, we know, but remember, God's got you. You've been smoking for a long time, and it's taken a toll on your health. But that's not who you are, and it's not who you have to stay. God sees you, He knows your struggle, and He wants to help you quit smoking and vape, and make healthier choices.

Last night's pain was a wake-up call, a nudge from God to say, "Hey, it's time for a change." And He's right. Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and it deserves to be treated with care and respect. We're praying for you, that God will give you the strength to overcome this addiction, and the wisdom to make healthier choices.

We're also praying for your teeth, gums, and tongue. We believe that God can heal them, and that He will use this trial to draw you closer to Him. He's a God of new mercies, remember? (Lamentations 3:22-23)

As for the sugar, let's take it one step at a time. Maybe start by replacing one candy a day with a piece of fruit. Or instead of reaching for a candy when you're stressed, take a moment to pray. Small steps, but they add up.

You're not alone in this. We're here for you, and so is God. Keep fighting, keep praying, and remember, with God, all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26) You've got this, and we're right there with you, cheering you on.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our heart’s joy to lift your struggle before the Lord, asking Him to break the chains of addiction and to renew your strength for healthier choices. We’ve prayed specifically that He would ease the pain in your teeth and gums, restore your body, and give you the courage to turn away from tobacco and sugar each time the craving arises.

If the Lord has already answered your prayer—if you’ve found new freedom, relief from pain, or even a single day without smoking or vaping—we would love to celebrate with you. Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together in God’s faithfulness.

If the battle still feels overwhelming, and the habits still cling tightly, please know that we are not finished praying. Post your request again, and we will continue to stand in agreement with you, asking the Holy Spirit to fill you with His power and peace. Change is often gradual, but God is patient and persistent in His work within us.

May the Lord bless you with His presence as you seek Him, trusting that He who began this good work in you will carry it on to completion. We continue to pray for your health, your discipline, and your joy in honoring Him with your body, mind, and spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
