More healing prayer needed

Three months of pain with no letup is a lot to sit with. There's a short spoken prayer called the Tissue Repair & Remodel Prayer on the One Prayer at a Time YouTube channel, prayed over the body repairing and rebuilding tissue, and you only have to listen. I hope the volume on it starts turning down.

Thank you for your encouraging words of truth from God's Word and for your prayers for complete healing. At times I feel the complete healing is there for me to accept but just out of reach. Three months of ongoing discomfort is a heavy burden, and we understand how discouraging it is when healing does not come as quickly as hoped. You have described well how the nervous system can remain on high alert even after the initial cause has healed, and how stress and anxiety can make that sensitivity greater. Scripture reminds us that anxiety itself brings torment and wears on the soul, yet God invites us to look up to Him and cast our cares on Him, for His providence is more abundant than we can supply for ourselves.

We join you in praying as you asked, in the name of Jesus Christ, the one through whom alone we have access to the Father and receive mercy and healing. We thank God that He knit you together in your mother's womb and that He knows your inmost being and your anxious thoughts, as Psalm 139 teaches. Nothing in your body or mind is hidden from Him.

Our prayer for you is this. Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask for Your healing touch upon this brother. You formed his nervous system and You know every pathway of brain and spinal cord. We ask that You calm the hyperexcitability that is turning up the volume on pain, correct the false signals, and in Your mercy restore healthy function and create new and right pathways where they are needed. Quiet his anxious spirit, ease his stress, and remove the mental roadblocks that fear has built. Grant him peace that steadies the heart, rest for his body, and patience in this prolonged trial. We ask for wisdom for those caring for him and for steady hope as he waits on You.

We will continue to pray for you. As you wait, keep bringing your anxieties to God in prayer, seek rest, and continue to follow wise medical counsel, trusting that God often works through patient and persistent means to bring restoration. May the Lord show you His mercy, strengthen your faith, and grant you relief and peace in Christ.

Thank you for sharing this update so honestly and for allowing continued prayer for you. To carry pain and discomfort for three months after expecting a quick resolution is discouraging, and to learn that your nervous system has become overly sensitive and is treating even minor signals as pain adds another burden. The stress and anxiety that come with ongoing pain are real, and God sees all of it.

You are right to hold onto what Psalm 139 teaches, that the Lord created your inmost being and knit you together, that you were made with care and that He knows your anxious thoughts fully. He understands the intricate design of your brain and spinal cord and how they process signals, and He is able to bring healing and restoration where there has been injury and where the system has remained on high alert.

I am praying for you specifically, that God would calm your spirit, ease the stress and anxiety that heightens these signals, and remove the mental roadblocks that keep you in distress. I am asking that He would turn down what you describe as the volume on your nervous system, correct the false pain messages being carried through the spinal cord to the brain, and in His creative power form new neural pathways so that your body again interprets signals accurately and peacefully. Nothing is impossible for Him to do.

We look to Jesus for this healing. Scripture tells us that when Peter was questioned about how the lame man was healed, he explained that the man was made whole and stood before them through the name of Jesus. There is power in the name of Jesus to heal and to make whole, and we come to the Father through that name alone.

So I pray now, Father, in the name of Jesus, that You would touch this body You formed, bring healing to this nervous system, quiet the overactive pain response, grant new and healthy connections in the brain, and fill the heart and mind with Your peace that guards against anxiety. Bring relief, restoration, and strength, and help him to rest in Your care and mercy through this season. Amen.

May the Lord continue to comfort you, give you peace as you wait on Him, and show you His healing hand in His perfect way and timing.

Almost three months ago I requested prayers for the resolution of pain from Chemical Epididymitis which can resolve in as few as three days. Unfortunately, the pain and discomfort continues. Since it’s now been three months, it is considered a chronic condition. I believe the original condition has resolved and the pain I’m experiencing now is due to Central Nervous System Sensitization which is a neurological condition where the brain and spinal cord become hyperexcitable, turning up the "volume" on pain and sensory. The central nervous system undergoes structural, functional, and chemical changes that make it more sensitive to pain and other sensory stimuli, the nervous system's "volume control" is stuck on high. In this state, the nervous system processes harmless or minor signals as dangerous or painful, long after the initial injury has healed. Also stress and anxiety play a major part, creating high stress levels that prompt the brain to treat sensory signals as dangerous thus turning up the pain volume even more! I need specific continued prayer that God, in Jesus’ name, will heal and turn down the volume on my nervous system by correcting the false painful messages my brain is receiving via the spinal cord (by creating new neural brain connections). Pray that God calm my anxious spirit and ease my stress and remove any mental roadblocks caused by anxiety. This is not an impossible ask since Psalm 139 says that God created my inmost being, knit me together in my mother’s womb, when I was made in the secret place, and knows my anxious thoughts. God’s miracle touch is needed. Thank you for praying and God bless.
