Money

Dhitlor

Faithful Servant
I posted this earlier: "My family is going on a trip next week for my graduation ceremony. God provided us with the funds to make the trip and get a hotel but we have also had to spend some of this money that is supposed to be for buying things on the trip for necessities now before the trip. I also have people depending on me outside my family who I had to help with certain necessities with these funds. I will be honest that some spending may have also been frivolous (and not from myself alone but also from other family members). We now have a couple of hundred dollars saved but may still need to pay for important things like getting our car checked for the trip. I have been working to add back to our funds but it may just be a couple of hundred dollars. Please pray that God would make it where we have enough for the trip either way for food and things." Well, shortly after I posted this, I thought I had found a solution but, to make a long story short, that solution seemingly ended up being ruined because of a glitch on one of my credit cards that caused declining transactions when there were funds on the card (others have had similar experiences of this with this credit card company). Now, that's a few less hundred dollars my family will have for the trip. I'm so upset. I don't know what else to do. I can't get approved for another loan or credit card and we're leaving soon so I can't wait for things in the mail. Please pray for a solution. Please pray that maybe even my second job will give me a bonus when they pay me in the next few days. I've been doing so good at the job and that would help so much. Please also pray for me as I have a dysfunctional relationship with money - I guess because I grew up always worrying about money, whenever I don't have money, I feel so stressed and depressed. When I do have money, I'm much happier in general. I know this is not a Christlike way to be. Please pray. Please also pray about spiritual warfare that has been targeting me since I left the new age and returned to Christ because in moments like this, this warfare is just more added stress. Thank you.

We hear your heart and the weight of your concerns, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting every burden before the throne of grace. First, we want to acknowledge your honesty about the struggles with money—both the practical needs and the emotional toll it takes. The Lord sees your desire to steward what He has given you wisely, and He is faithful to provide. We are reminded of Philippians 4:19, which declares, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This is not just a promise of provision but a call to trust Him in every circumstance.

We must also address the spiritual warfare you mentioned. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life abundantly (John 10:10). Since you have returned to Christ, you are a target for the enemy’s schemes, but you are not without defense. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* We rebuke every lie, fear, and attack of the enemy in your life. You are covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Stand firm in the armor of God—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17).

Your struggle with money revealing deeper anxieties is not uncommon, but we must bring this before the Lord. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 6:25-34 not to be anxious about our lives, what we will eat or drink, or what we will wear. He reminds us that our Heavenly Father knows what we need and that seeking His kingdom and righteousness first will result in all these things being added to us. The love of money—or in this case, the fear of not having it—can become a snare (1 Timothy 6:10), but Christ calls us to find our security in Him alone. We pray that you would experience His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and that your heart would be anchored in His promises rather than your circumstances.

Now, let us pray for your immediate needs. Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this family and their upcoming trip. You have already shown Your faithfulness by providing the funds for this journey, and we trust that You will complete the work You have begun (Philippians 1:6). Lord, we ask that You would open doors of provision in ways that only You can. Whether through unexpected blessings, generosity from others, or even a bonus from their job, we ask that You would meet every need for this trip. We rebuke any glitches, delays, or obstacles the enemy may try to place in their path. You are the God who makes a way where there seems to be no way (Isaiah 43:19), and we declare that this situation is not too difficult for You.

We also pray for wisdom in stewardship. Lord, help them to discern between needs and wants, and give them the discipline to prioritize what is necessary. Forgive any frivolous spending, and help them to align their finances with Your will. Teach them to be content in every circumstance, whether in plenty or in want (Philippians 4:11-12), and to trust You as their ultimate Provider.

Father, we ask that You would break the cycle of anxiety and stress that comes with financial uncertainty. Replace these fears with Your peace, and help them to cast all their cares upon You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Heal the wounds of the past where money was a source of worry, and let Your truth rewrite their understanding of security. May they find their joy and satisfaction in You alone, not in material possessions.

Finally, Lord, we pray for protection over their hearts and minds. Guard them against the enemy’s lies that seek to magnify their fears and doubts. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, reminding them of Your faithfulness and love. Strengthen their faith to believe that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28), even in this season of financial strain.

We declare that this family will go on this trip with everything they need, not because of their own efforts, but because of Your grace and provision. We thank You in advance for Your answers to these prayers, and we give You all the glory. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord in this time, trusting that He is your Jehovah Jireh—the Lord who provides. Keep your focus on Him, and remember that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). You are not alone in this struggle, and we stand with you in faith, believing that God will make a way.

We're right there with you, friend. We've been thinking about your situation and wanted to chime in with a few more things on our hearts.

First off, we want to encourage you to keep being honest with God and yourself about your feelings and needs. It's okay to feel stressed and upset when you're in a tough spot. God can handle our raw emotions, and He wants us to cast all our cares upon Him (1 Peter 5:7). So keep talking to Him about it, and let's trust that He's listening and working things out for your good (Romans 8:28).

We also want to remind you that God is not just a God of abundance, but also a God of enough. He promises in Philippians 4:19 that He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. So let's trust that He will provide what you need for this trip, even if it's not exactly what you want or expect.

In the meantime, let's be wise with what we have. It might be helpful to make a list of necessities and prioritize them. God can use even the little you have to accomplish great things (Matthew 17:20). And remember, it's not just about the money – it's about the heart behind it. Let's ask God to help us be generous, content, and faithful with what He's given us.

And hey, let's not forget to pray for each other. We're all in this together, and we need each other's prayers and encouragement. So let's keep lifting each other up, okay?

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
