Money, training, focus

Need more self control, focus, discipline, consistency reading bible, praying, also need for eating, for training also needing money I know I am supposed to be living overseas for training for life and path please need agreement for obstacle to be removed and also to believe more and need all negativity and doubt removed from my thoughts

We hear your heart and we stand in agreement with you for greater self control, focus, discipline and consistency in your walk with God, and for His provision and clear direction for your training and for living overseas as you believe He has called you.

We understand the struggle for discipline in reading the Bible, in prayer, in eating and in training. The Word tells us that self control is not merely willpower we muster on our own, but part of the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23 says the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self control. And 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self control. True discipline comes as we abide in Christ and yield to the Holy Spirit. Proverbs 25:28 warns Like a city that is broken down and without walls is a man whose spirit is without restraint. We encourage you to see discipline not as punishment but as training. 1 Corinthians 9:27 says but I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected. And Hebrews 12:11 says All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous, yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. For your daily walk, Joshua 1:8 gives a beautiful pattern, This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein, for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. Consistency grows when we set a dedicated time, turn from distractions, and ask the Lord to help us keep that appointment with Him. In eating and training, remember 1 Corinthians 10:31, Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God, and 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 which teaches your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. We pray you will honor God with your body through disciplined nourishment and stewardship in training.

We also lift up your need for money and for open doors for training overseas. We know the Lord cares about your practical needs and your calling. Philippians 4:19 promises My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And Matthew 6:33 teaches But seek first Gods Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. We pray not just that obstacles be removed, but that Gods perfect will be made clear. Sometimes what feels like an obstacle is Gods protection or His timing, so we pray for wisdom to discern His path and for provision that confirms His direction. We ask Him to open the doors no man can shut if this overseas training is indeed His path for your life, and to close them clearly if He has another way, and to provide the finances in His way and time.

For the negativity and doubt and the desire to believe more, we know the battle is often in the mind. Romans 12:2 calls us to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. And 2 Corinthians 10:5 urges us to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Doubt is not rebuked by trying harder to feel positive, but by anchoring faith in Gods character and promises. James 1:6 says But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed. We encourage you to replace negative thoughts with Scripture, to speak Gods truth aloud, and to thank Him even before you see the answer.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ, confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for Romans 10:9 promises that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray and find strength for discipline, provision and peace.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. We ask You to pour out Your Spirit of power, love and self control upon them. Help them to be consistent in reading Your Word and in prayer, to hunger for Your presence daily, and to walk in discipline with food and with training for Your glory. Provide for every financial need according to Your riches in glory, and make clear the path You have for their life and training. If it is Your will for them to live and train overseas, we ask You to remove every obstacle that is not of You and to open the right doors, and if not, redirect their steps with peace. Strengthen their faith, remove all negativity and doubt, and renew their mind with Your truth. Help them to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and to trust You without wavering. Let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking Him daily, to stay in the Word, to pray continually, and to be faithful in the small disciplines, trusting that God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you.

We hear how much you want to live wholeheartedly for the Lord, and how frustrating it feels when focus, self-control, and consistency slip, whether with Bible reading and prayer, or with eating and training. Wanting to be disciplined in all those areas at once while also carrying financial pressure and a big decision about living overseas is a heavy load to carry. We are praying with you for clarity on that path and for obstacles to be lifted as God wills.

What you describe about negativity and doubt is very common and often very painful. Those what if thoughts tend to feed on feelings more than facts, and they lose some of their power when we meet them with a practiced turn toward God in the moment, not just when we feel strong. And growth in self-control rarely comes from willpower alone. It grows through small, repeatable choices, like choosing a clear cue and practicing one desired behavior at a time.

One simple place to start this week might be to pick a single anchor habit rather than trying to fix everything at once. Choose a same time and same place for ten minutes with your Bible and in prayer, and keep it small enough to repeat daily. When a doubtful or negative thought comes, try briefly giving that specific worry to God in prayer and thanking Him for one thing that is true about His care for you, even on a hard day.

We are also asking God to provide for your training needs and to give you wisdom for next steps overseas, one faithful decision at a time.

Father, we lift our brother to You and thank You for his desire to follow You. Grant him steadiness of mind, quietness from doubt, and strength to walk faithfully in small daily steps. Provide what he needs for training and show him clearly the way You would have him go. Keep him close to You and build his trust day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your longing for greater self control, focus and discipline is itself a sign of the Lord's gracious work in you, for it shows you are not content to play the truant but desire to be under your heavenly Father's blessed discipline. He loves His children too well to let them wander at their own sweet will, and His discipline, though it may feel strict, is the training of soldiers in Christ's army. Our Captain says to all who would follow Him, count the cost, and He then forms us by that holy discipline which withholds the coveted blessing till we have learned to pray in downright earnest, yet its real basis is the love of Christ Himself.

We join with you in asking the Lord to grant you that steadfastness you desire. May He give you grace for consistency in reading the Bible and in prayer, not merely reading for others or as a duty, but getting your own text, your own morsel of marrow and fatness out of Scripture for your own soul. There the Book becomes as a bunch of keys to fit your case and minister relief in necessity, and there in the secret place He answers out of the thunder and shows you the way you should take. We pray also for discipline in eating and in training, that your body may be kept as a servant fit for the Master's use, and that self will, which so often lies at the root of our greatest griefs, may be yielded to God, for to yield to Him is to obtain the blessing.

Concerning your need for money and for the path of training overseas, we bring this before the throne of grace with you. If this way is of the Lord, we ask Him to make the way plain, to remove obstacles according to His wisdom, and to provide what is needful in His time. If there are hindrances, may He give you eyes to watch the signs of His hands guiding you, saying to self love, down busy will, that you may follow where He leads rather than where desire alone would take you. We pray He will keep you from self reliance and self neglect alike, and teach you that without Christ you can do nothing, but through Him you can do all things which He requires of you.

For your struggle with negativity and doubt, we ask the Lord to increase your faith and to cleanse your thoughts. Much doubt is driven away by honest self examination before God, who searches the heart and tries the reins. As you examine yourself whether you be in the faith, not with carnal security but with a humble heart, you will find that the safest cure for many fears is to look again to Christ and to remember His past mercies. You may say with confidence, I have known You too long to doubt You now, my blessed Lord. You have done too much for me in the past for me to turn away and say I will not trust You.

So we pray that the Lord will grant you focus, a quiet mind stayed upon Him, deliverance from all doubting thoughts, and a growing trust in His goodness. May He bless you with perseverance day by day, with provision as He sees fit, and with a heart that loathes self and clings only to Jesus, in whom alone is our strength and our salvation.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest request for more self control, focus and discipline has been heard, and I join my faith with yours to bring it before the Lord.

It is good that you desire consistency in reading the Bible and in prayer, and also discipline in eating and training. Scripture shows us that strict discipline is a gain and not a burden. It binds us so we do not become dissolute and it gives clear sight to lead us on to virtue. This training is not only for youth but calls for even greater carefulness as we go forward, for the soul is strengthened as it is exercised. Do not pursue virtue only as a hireling working for a reward. Learn to love what is good because it is good and pleasing to God, even as God in His kindness promises a reward to encourage us in our weakness.

You also asked for prayer for provision and for direction about living overseas for training. God knows the path He has for you and the obstacles that stand in the way. We can trust Him to open doors that should be opened and to close what should be closed, and to provide what you need for the work He calls you to do.

Prayer itself is a great weapon for all of this. If at the morning dawn we first make God favorable to us by prayer and supplication, and again at night, we go forth into the day with security. The affairs of each day are like a storm and a fight, and without prayer the boat easily strikes the rocks. With prayer we can go through the day without shipwreck and without wounds.

Let us pray together. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, through whom alone we have salvation and access to You, I lift up this need for self control, focus and consistency. Grant a steady love for Your Word and a faithful habit of prayer morning and evening. Give strength to govern the body in eating and in training, with moderation and endurance. Provide for financial needs according to Your wisdom and riches, and make clear the right path for life and training, whether at home or overseas. If it is Your will, remove the obstacles that hinder what is good, and where obstacles remain, give patience and strength to be disciplined through them. Increase faith, drive away negativity and doubt, and fill the mind with truth and peace. Teach this heart to love virtue for its own goodness and to follow You with joy and a ready mind. Keep all thoughts captive to Christ and build a life that is consistent, sober and fruitful for Your glory. Amen.

Continue to seek Him daily in the Word and in prayer, be faithful in small disciplines, and trust Him step by step to guide and provide.
