Money, training

We join with you in bringing this need before the Lord and we hear your cry for provision, for discipline in your training, and for the removal of obstacles that hinder you. We want to encourage you with biblical truth about both money and diligence, and to pray with you for God's will to be done in your life.

We understand the urgency you feel for money to accomplish your desires and goals. Scripture teaches us that God is our provider and He cares for our needs, Philippians 4:19 says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, and Matthew 6:33 reminds us to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. We must also examine our motives, for James 4:3 says You ask, and don't receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures. We encourage you to bring your desires before God and ask Him to align them with His perfect will, trusting that Psalm 37:4 tells us to delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart when our hearts are set on Him first.

We also hear your honest confession about procrastination and the need for consistency, discipline and focus in your training. The Lord honors diligence and self discipline, and He calls us to be faithful stewards of the time, strength and resources He has given us. Proverbs 13:4 says The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied. Proverbs 21:5 says The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty. Colossians 3:23 says Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. We gently rebuke the spirit of procrastination and laziness, for it does not honor God and it hinders the work He has called you to do. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self control as taught in 2 Timothy 1:7, and we are called to discipline our bodies and our minds as 1 Corinthians 9:27 teaches. True discipline grows not by mere willpower but by walking in the Spirit, setting orderly plans, and being faithful in small things each day.

We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and that our prayers are heard. If you have not yet put your trust in Him, we encourage you to call upon His name today.

We now pray together with you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your mercy and grace upon this life. Lord, we ask that You provide according to Your riches and wisdom, that You would open doors for honest work and provision, and teach us to be faithful stewards of what You supply. Give us contentment and wisdom to use money not merely for our own desires but for Your glory and for the good of others. Lord, we ask for a renewed mind and a disciplined spirit, remove the habit of procrastination and fill us with diligence, focus and consistency in training and in every duty You have set before us. Help us to make plans and carry them out faithfully, to rise and work heartily as unto You. Father, we ask that You remove every obstacle and interference that is not of You, and where obstacles remain for our growth, give us perseverance and faith to overcome them, knowing Romans 8:28 promises that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. Let Your will be done, not our own, and let our goals be refined to reflect Your purpose for us. Draw us closer to Jesus, deepen our dependence on Him, and let us seek first Your Kingdom above all else. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to commit your work and finances daily to the Lord in prayer, to make a simple and consistent plan for your training and stewardship, to seek godly counsel and accountability, and to remain faithful even when results are not immediate. The Lord sees your diligence and He will honor faithfulness in His perfect timing.

We hear how heavy this feels for you right now, wanting to be consistent and focused, to stop putting things off, and to see real provision for the goals God has put on your heart. Wanting obstacles cleared and to finally finish what you have started is a good and honest desire, and we are praying with you for both steadiness and wisdom in this season.

One thought that has helped many of us is to think of discipline less as trying harder in a moment and more as training over time, like preparing for a long race. Trying can leave us discouraged when we don't see instant change, but training grows through small, repeatable choices. That perspective can take some pressure off while still calling us forward.

A practical next step that may help is to narrow your focus to one doable pattern this week. Choose one training time each day, same time and place if you can, even 20 minutes, and decide ahead what you will do in it and what you will set aside to protect it. It also helps to invite one trusted person to check in with you at the end of the week, and if finances feel overwhelming, to sit down with a wise counselor or pastor who can help you map out needs, goals and next steps on paper so you can see a clear path.

Father, we lift our friend to You and ask for Your provision and clear direction. Give focus where there has been distraction, strength to take the next small step faithfully, and wisdom to walk through every obstacle in a way that honors You. Provide for what is truly needed and lead toward what is good and lasting. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your petition for provision and for strength to stand fast in training has been brought before the Lord, and we join you in prayer to Him who hears the cries of His people.

There is a holy discipline in Christ's house, and blessed is the man whom the Lord chasteneth and teacheth out of His law. You ask for consistency, discipline, focus, and deliverance from procrastination, and this is a good and needful prayer. Know that grace itself has a discipline and a wonderful training power. The grace of God which bringeth salvation teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, and to live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world. It is grace that must school us to righteous living, to diligence in our calling, and to faithfulness in little things. To be a soldier of Christ is to come under discipline, and our glorious Captain says to all who would follow Him, count the cost. That discipline, though it be strict, is for your good, to make you steadfast and able to endure.

You ask also for money urgently and for obstacles to be removed that your desires and goals may be accomplished. We will pray that the Lord in His wisdom will supply what you need and open the right way before you, yet we must pray as those who look to the Lord Jesus Christ for all things and seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. The Lord knows your wants better than you know them yourself, and sometimes He withholds the coveted blessing till we have learned to pray in downright earnest. Worldlings may seek provision for desires alone, but the child of God seeks provision for usefulness, for honesty, for the support of his household and the furtherance of the gospel. We pray not merely that desires be fulfilled, but that your desires may be made conformable to Christ, and that whatever is granted may be used to His glory.

Learn the blessed art of overcoming in prayer. There is a power that wins the victory in prayer and its real basis is the love of Christ Himself. Give Him the overcoming glance of faith, look to Him as your familiar Friend who is alive and near, and tell Him all your need. Let the Book of God talk with you as you walk, for it gives timely notice and cries to us, watch and pray, keep thy heart with all diligence. There you will find warning when you begin to go aside into slothfulness, and comfort when you are weary in well doing.

We pray for you in this manner. O Lord our God, look upon this Thy servant who desires to be delivered from a wandering mind and idle hands. Teach him by the discipline of Thy grace to be sober and diligent, to redeem the time and to do with his might what his hand findeth to do. Take away the spirit of procrastination and grant steadfastness, focus and holy perseverance. Provide for his temporal needs according to Thy riches in glory by Christ Jesus, and grant that he may be content with such things as he has, and faithful as a steward of what Thou dost entrust to him. Remove obstacles so far as it will further his soul's health and Thy glory, and where Thou seest fit to leave a hindrance, give grace to endure and to profit thereby. Make him to live looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of our Saviour, and to find all his sufficiency in Him. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
