Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this burden about your mother. It is right and honoring to God when children care for their parents in their need, just as parents once cared for them, and the Lord sees your love and concern for her.
I want you to know that I believe God is able to heal and that healing is still for today. The Scripture says of Jesus that He bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses, and that truth is the ground for our prayers. At the same time, there is much about healing that we do not fully understand, and why some are healed in one way and others in another remains in His hands. Jesus did not heal in only one pattern. Sometimes He healed instantly with a word or a touch, sometimes healing was gradual, and sometimes He simply spoke and it was done from a distance. In the same way, any true healing is from God, even when it comes through the natural processes He created in the body. The slow and steady processes of recovery that He built into us are also divine.
You can come directly to Jesus with this need. You do not need any other intercessor. He invites you to come boldly to Him and to keep bringing your request in faith, not going away until you have poured out your heart before Him. Like the mother who came desperately for her daughter and would not be turned away, your persistent faith as you bring your mother to Him matters.
I am joining you in prayer for her.
Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this dear mother before You. You know her body, You know the cancer and the treatment she is enduring. We ask that You would be merciful and grant favor in this CT scan, that the results would show the treatment is working. We ask that You would help her to continue to tolerate the chemotherapy well, strengthen her body, ease side effects, and give her peace. We ask for Your healing hand upon her, whether through an instant touch or through the gradual healing You have ordained, and we trust Your perfect wisdom and love. Comfort this family with Your presence and give them confidence as they keep looking to You. Amen.
