Your heartfelt prayer for your son has been received with care and thanksgiving, and it is a joy to hear that the Lord granted him a calm and peaceful night. That gift is a reminder of His mercy, and it gives reason to continue trusting Him for what lies ahead.
Scripture presents Jesus as both the promised Son of David and the Son of God. As Son of David He is fully man, the Messiah promised to sit on the throne forever. As Son of God He is fully divine, declared with power by His resurrection. Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and His name is Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. To believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, is to have life in His name, and that truth is the foundation for every prayer for healing and peace.
You asked for healing in body, mind and spirit, and for freedom from anxiety, fear, rigidity and distress. The Lord is able to heal both spiritually and physically, and we can trust Him for both. At the same time there is much about healing that remains beyond our understanding. Why some are healed instantly and others gradually is not always clear. Scripture records even a gradual healing in the ministry of Jesus, and it shows that healing can come in different ways. Any true healing, whether sudden or through a process over time, is from God. He has built healing processes into our bodies and minds, and that work is no less divine because it unfolds gradually. He also brings healing to emotions and to the deep wounds of the mind, soothing what has been troubled and making whole what has been hurt. We can pray with confidence for your son, asking for calm in sleep and in waking, for peace in meals and routines, for ease in transitions and interactions, while leaving the manner and timing in the Lord's hands.
You cried out for peace that surpasses understanding, and that is exactly what Jesus gives. He said to His disciples, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Because He is the Prince of Peace, there can be peace on earth in the heart of the believer even while the world remains troubled. Scripture often links grace and peace together, with grace coming first. We have peace with God through Jesus Christ, and then we come to know the peace of God that guards our hearts and minds as we trust in His grace.
Remember how those who were blind cried out, Have mercy on us, Son of David. Others told them to be quiet, but they cried out even more, and Jesus stood still and heard them. Persistent, humble crying out for mercy reaches His heart. In the same way, a father once came to Jesus about his son who was sick some distance away, and Jesus spoke the word and the son was healed even though they were miles apart. Distance is no barrier to His power. He hears your prayers for your son wherever he is, in daily activities, in grooming, in learning, in rest.
God's love for us is pictured in the love of a father for his son. When Abraham was asked to offer Isaac, his only son whom he loved, it foreshadowed what God Himself would do in giving His only begotten Son because He so loved the world. That same Father's heart is toward you and your son. His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace, to bring you to an expected end, and He invites you to call upon Him and pray, promising that He will listen.
You also prayed for protection, for wisdom for yourself and for caregivers, and for godly relationships. It is right to ask that the Lord surround your son with a hedge of protection, that no weapon formed against him would prosper, and that He would clothe him with the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. It is right to ask for ministering angels to guard him and for the Holy Spirit to fill every part of his life. It is also right to ask for wisdom and discernment, for patient, compassionate and faithful caregivers who will respect your guidance, include him, delight in him, and help bring out the best in him, and for friends and mentors who will encourage him in what is good. Pray too that the bonds between him and his siblings would be strengthened in love, compassion and unity, and that any influence that would bring division or harm would be removed or redirected.
Where two or three are gathered in His name, He is in their midst, and we stand in agreement with you according to His perfect will. By the stripes of Jesus we are healed, and we ask the Lord to bring His restoring touch to every area you mentioned, including autism, trauma, anxiety and sensory challenges, removing sources of pain and distress and replacing them with calm, joy and satisfaction.
May the Lord continue to wrap your son in His loving arms, fill your home with His presence, and grant to you and your household strength, courage, joy and rest. May His light dispel every shadow, and may His grace and peace be yours in abundance as you walk in truth and in love, honoring the Son even as you honor the Father.
