Your heartfelt prayers for your son and your family have been heard, and thank you for sharing so openly the burdens you carry. In seasons of captivity and struggle it is easy to feel forgotten, but God has not forgotten you. His thoughts toward you and toward your son are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and an expected end. He invites you to call upon Him and to pray, and He promises to listen.

For your son, I join you in asking for that deep and lasting peace that only God can give. Scripture makes a distinction that is important. First we need peace with God, which comes only through the blood of Jesus Christ who made peace for us on the cross. When we are no longer at war with God, running from Him or fighting against Him, the war inside begins to end. Then we can know the peace of God, that perfect peace that guards the heart and mind and passes all human understanding. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. That peace is kept for the one whose mind is stayed on Him because he trusts in Him. As you keep turning your mind and your son's needs toward the Lord, that peace can fill your home, his sleep, his meals, his outings and daily routines. I pray with you that God will calm every storm within him, soothe anxiety and agitation, and replace rigidity and fear with calmness, contentment and gentle words. I pray that his caregivers will be filled with wisdom, patience and compassion, and that God will provide the additional faithful helpers you need and guide you clearly as you consider new services for him.

You have asked for healing, and I join you in believing that God is the healer. All healing is from Him, whether it comes instantly or gradually through the processes He has built into our bodies and minds. Scripture shows Jesus healing in different ways, sometimes with a touch, sometimes with a word, sometimes instantly and once gradually, to show He is not bound to one pattern. The prophet Isaiah spoke of the Messiah bearing our griefs and carrying our sorrows, and Matthew applies that to physical healing as well as to the healing from sin. At the same time we do not understand why some are healed as we ask and others are not in the way we hope. Even the apostle Paul prayed three times for his thorn to be removed and God answered with grace to sustain him. So we pray boldly for complete healing for your son in body, mind and spirit, for relief from autism related challenges, anxiety, sensory struggles, stomach pain and sleeplessness, and for continued freedom from seizures, while trusting God's perfect wisdom and love to do what is best. We pray for His protection over your son, your home, your vehicles and every place he goes, that God would surround him with His presence, cover him with the armor He provides, and station His angels around him, and that no weapon formed against him would prosper.

You also shared honestly about your older daughter. I hear your pain over the division and distance this relationship has brought. God's design for marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and living together outside of that covenant is not marriage and does not carry its blessing or protection. To speak of peace where there is ongoing disobedience to God is a false peace, and Scripture warns that there is no true peace for those who remain in rebellion against Him, but there is beautiful peace offered to those far off and to those near when they turn to Him for forgiveness and healing. I will not ask God to bless a living arrangement outside His will, but I do pray earnestly for your daughter. I pray God will soften her heart, open her eyes to see any controlling, jealous or divisive influences around her, restore her gratitude for the supportive family God has given her, and draw her back to fellowship with Him and with you. I pray He will block isolation and manipulation and restore a loving, respectful bond between her and her siblings and between your son and his sisters, and that He will give her courage to seek freedom from what is toxic and to walk in purity and truth.

For your practical needs, I pray God will provide a trustworthy and affordable repair person for your air conditioner and meet your household needs according to His mercy. I thank God with you for the good advocates He has already provided and for the faithful prayers of others standing with you, remembering the promise that where two or three gather in Jesus name, He is present among them.

May the Lord keep you in His perfect peace as you keep your mind stayed on Him. Grace comes first, and then peace follows. As you sow peace in your home and trust Him with each day, may you reap the fruit of righteousness and know His presence, His comfort and His unfailing love in every area of your lives.
