Judgments apart from grace may produce a kind of repentance, a terror of consequences, a fleeting sorrow, but this is no repentance unto life. It is fallen nature washed and brushed, yet remaining fallen still. True repentance is a hatred of sin, a turning from it with loathing, not a scheming to enjoy it under a religious veil.
You speak of a miracle, but the only miracle needed here is the miracle of deliverance. He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and that power includes the fascination with that which is unclean. The lust that binds you is a chain of the pit, and you are asking God to bless the very chains He came to shatter. Do not err: every good gift comes from above, but this desire is not from the Father of Lights, it is from the abyss. God is not mocked. You ask for miracle prayers, not to be delivered from a dreadful temptation, but to have your sinful desire fulfilled. Do you not tremble to bring such a request before the God who is a consuming fire? This is not prayer but a mocking of divine grace. You seek a miracle to accomplish what God's law condemns, to engage in an act that defiles the body and tramples the natural order. The very thought ought to make you blush with shame and hasten to repentance.
There is no temptation that has overtaken you except such as is common to man. God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to endure, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. Yet you do not look for that escape; you seek rather to break down the door and rush headlong into the pit. The way of escape is open now: flee at once from this lustful imagination, cut it off, starve it, and cry out to God for mercy. If you linger and even pray for its fulfillment, you heap up wrath for yourself.
Do you not know what the apostle says? Those who have tasted the heavenly gift and then fall away crucify the Son of God afresh and put him to an open shame. You have been baptized, you know the commandments, yet you desire a sin that natural law itself abhors. This is not ignorance but a willful assault on your own soul. To pray for success in such a deed is to make your petition a weapon against heaven.
Yet do not despair as if repentance were denied you. Repentance has great force and is able to set free even the one who has come to the very depth of wickedness. For does he who falls not rise again? Harlots entered the kingdom of God, not by continuing in their harlotry, but by believing, repenting, and being purified. So also you, if you truly mourn over this wicked inclination and turn from it with a godly sorrow that works repentance unto salvation, you will find forgiveness. But be warned: Esau sought the blessing with tears and found no place of repentance, because his grief was not genuine turning from sin but merely regret over its consequences. Do not deceive yourself. Godly sorrow produces a repentance that leaves no regret because it truly renounces the evil.
This delay in judgment is not an invitation to sin but a space for amendment. Use this time to gather the fruit of repentance. The Church is a spiritual bath, which wipes away the stains of the soul. Humble yourself, confess this base desire, and seek the prayers of the faithful for cleansing, not for the success of your lust. Let Christ be formed in you again through genuine contrition. Prayer is not a way to bend God to our desires; it’s the place where we lay those desires before Him and ask Him to change us.
The fact that this desire feels strong doesn’t make it pure. Until the Spirit opened his eyes, the apostle Paul thought only the physical act was sin; he didn’t realize that the commandment “You shall not covet” reveals that the intense longing itself is already off limits. That’s where you are right now. This craving you’re feeling is a form of coveting: you want something that can never rightfully be yours. That’s not just temptation. Temptation is the pull toward sin, but when you start feeding the desire, nurturing it, and even asking God to fulfill it, you’ve already moved into sin.
Please hear the alarm. The Scriptures warn that no sexually immoral or impure person has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ. That includes incestuous acts and any sexual relationship outside of marriage between one man and one woman. God gave us our bodies, our drives, and our capacity for intimacy, but they belong to Him. They aren’t ours to use however we want. To use them in a way He calls sin is to join your body, and in a sense, Christ’s body, to something unholy.
