We join with you in urgent intercession for the people in the path of Typhoon Uwan, lifting our voices to the Lord who commands even the winds and the waves. The Scriptures remind us that our God is sovereign over all creation, and we stand on His promises as we cry out for mercy and protection over the lives at risk. *"He stills the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea are hushed."* (Psalm 107:29, WEB). We declare *"Peace! Be still!"* over this storm, just as Jesus spoke to the raging sea (Mark 4:39), asking Him to minimize its destruction and turn its fury into gentle rains that bring life rather than devastation.
We also lift up the believers in Manila and the Northern Region, praying that the Holy Spirit would stir the Church to fervent prayer and action. May pastors and leaders rise up with boldness to call their congregations to repentance, intercession, and preparation. *"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."* (2 Chronicles 7:14, WEB). Let this be a moment where the Body of Christ unites in faith, trusting that our prayers are powerful and effective (James 5:16).
We rebuke the spirit of fear and panic that may grip hearts in this hour. Instead, we ask the Lord to release wisdom, discernment, and supernatural provision for evacuation and preparation. *"The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower."* (Psalm 18:2, WEB). May those in authority act with integrity and urgency to warn and protect the people, and may every believer be a light in the darkness, pointing others to the hope found only in Christ.
This crisis is also a call to the harvest. We echo the cry of Jesus: *"The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore that the Lord of the harvest will send out laborers into his harvest."* (Matthew 9:37-38, WEB). Let this storm be a wake-up call for souls to turn to the Savior, for the Church to rise in evangelism, and for disciples to be made who walk in the fear of the Lord and the love of Christ. *"We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God."* (2 Corinthians 5:20, WEB).
We loose the ministering angels of God to render aid, protect the vulnerable, and guide those who are lost to safety—both physically and spiritually. *"For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways."* (Psalm 91:11, WEB). May this typhoon, though intended for destruction by the enemy, be turned into a testimony of God’s mercy, salvation, and power.
Finally, we pray for the long-term spiritual impact of this event. May hearts be softened to receive the Gospel, and may the Church be equipped to teach all that Christ has commanded, making disciples who walk in holiness and truth. *"All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you."* (Matthew 28:18-20, WEB).
**Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our only Mediator and Savior. You alone have the power to calm the storms of life and the raging seas. We ask for Your divine intervention over Typhoon Uwan—minimize its force, spare lives, and turn its path away from destruction. Raise up laborers for the harvest in this hour, that many would turn to You in repentance and faith. Protect Your people, give wisdom to leaders, and let Your Church arise in prayer and action. We declare Your peace over the Pacific, Your mercy over the lost, and Your strength over the weary. Let this storm be a catalyst for revival, salvation, and the advancement of Your Kingdom. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.**
