We lift up your precious son to the Lord with heavy hearts, knowing the deep concern and love you have for him. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." We stand on this promise, believing that God sees your son’s struggles and hears your cries on his behalf.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician and the One who calms every storm. Lord, we ask that You would wrap Your loving arms around this young man and bring him peace that surpasses all understanding. Where his mind is troubled, bring clarity. Where there is confusion, bring wisdom. Where there is fear, bring Your perfect love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). We rebuke any spirit of disturbance or oppression in the name of Jesus, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Lord, we pray for healing—emotional, mental, and spiritual. You are the God who restores, and we trust You to work in his life in ways that only You can. Surround him with godly influences, wise counselors, and believers who can speak life and truth into his situation. Give him the strength to seek help and the humility to receive it. We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we plead the blood of Jesus over his mind and heart.
We also lift up this parent to You, Lord. Parenting a child with mental struggles can be exhausting and heart-wrenching. Give this parent supernatural strength, wisdom, and patience. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).
Father, we ask that You would draw this family closer to You through this trial. Let them see Your hand at work, even in the small things. May they find comfort in Your Word and hope in Your promises. We pray that this young man would come to know You personally, if he does not already, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, and we pray that he would surrender his life to You, finding true peace and purpose in You.
We also want to gently remind this family that seeking professional help is not a sign of weakness but of wisdom. Just as Luke, the beloved physician, was used by God in the New Testament, so too can doctors, therapists, and counselors be instruments of healing in your son’s life. We pray for discernment in finding the right help and for God’s guidance in every decision.
Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness. We thank You that You are working even when we cannot see it. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in this young man’s life (Philippians 1:6). May he grow in strength, in faith, and in the knowledge of Your love. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
