Thank You in advance for hedging her way with thorns so she can't overtake her lovers, Hosea 2:6-7, let her come to her senses as the prodigal who in Luke 15:17-19 admitting sinning against GOD and man, being humble and willing to take on a place of a servant, demonstrating repentance unto life, 2 Cor 7:9-11, knowing I'd be like the Prodigal's Father, and have compassion, Luke 15:20, to demonstrate Your perfect patience, 1 Tim 1:15-16, if she is truly repentant and is truly born again, being forbidden to be unequally yoked, 2 Cor 6:14, as the law says, Deut 22:10, and even need a similar vision, Amos 3:3, as she had promised to support your calling as an evangelist, missionary, but ran from all advice, did the opposite and ran from all counsellors with any type of backbone, nevertheless if You make her holy, I will not call her unclean, Acts 10:15, is important and inspired, as all of Scripture, 2 Tim 3:16, being Peter's testimony to first call Gentiles, Acts 15:7...

Nevertheless, such patience we regard as kindness intended to lead us to repentance from sin, Rom 2:4, since You are not willing that any should perish, but rather all would come to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9, since there will be wrath and tribulation for every soul that does evil, Rom 2:9. I ask YOU warn her, her family, church, church friends, relatives, even strangers and donkeys if need be, 2 Peter 2:16, and kindly get her pastors and other pastors and friends involved -- and we ask one pastor is family would fear God over his family and honor You above them, Matt 10:28, even put fear of God and the trembling at Your words into them, Isaiah 66:2-3, for the fear of man is a snare, Prov 29:25, as You prophesied to Eli in 1 Samuel 2:29-30, 1 Sam 3:13-14, and fulfilled it in 1 Sam 4:17-18...

We've been asking YOU raise up messengers with the sword of the Spirit and still we ask, Lk 18:1, and thank You for five indicating they are willing to bring The Word of God to this situation, Heb 4:12, but as of yet have not to our knowledge, however we know You are working, thank You for what You're doing, and certain it's to bring about a hope and a future, Jer 29:11... Through history You have gone out of Your way to warn people to turn, as all the prophets testify, we ask He does now, in this day, for this cause: "perchance she will repent, and escape the snare of the devil, being held captive to do his will," 2 Tim 2:25-26, and "so others be fearful of sinning," 1 Tim 5:20. Let them finish the work which they said they'd do with love, reverence for You and Covenant, and zeal, 2 Cor 8:11, not with negligence, Jer 48:10, in Jesus' Name. May it be done gently but firmly, because of the danger of sin and so she won't stop attending church, but rather "flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart," 2 Tim 2:22. Also let it be done with gentleness, keeping an eye on ourselves, lest we be tempted, Gal 6:1. Thank You in advance, Mk 11:24, in Jesus' Name.

I ask again for her to be "hedged in with thorns," Ho 2:6-7, that she is not able to meet anyone at all (No more online or in person dating, Matt 5:28, and grace for her to finally confess adultery, Ex 20:14, [as yet it has only been hinted at without confession], and may God grant ever-increasing clarity, more certain wisdom, James 1:5, that we may be filled with the knowledge of His will with all spiritual wisdom and understanding so we may walk worthy of The Lord, Col 1:9-10, so we may stand perfectly assured in all the will of God, Col 4:12. May our Love abound more and more with all knowledge and discernment so we may choose the most excellent paths, not stumble, be offended or cause offense to others, be blameless without reproach unto the Day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness, to the glory and praise of God, Phil 1:9-11, and who knows what's next? 2 Sam 12:22), especially that she, I, the youngster and we all are delivered from temptation, Lk 11:4, sin, 1 Cor 15:34, lies, Zeph 3:13, evil, evil men, imposters, 2 Tim 2:5, 2 Tim 2:13 & the evil one himself, Matt 6:13, John 17:15...

We join you in praying for this situation and we hear the burden of your heart for this woman, for her family, for the church, and for God's will to be done in all of this. We thank God with you that He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun, for we are confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ, Phil 1:6. We also join you in thanking Him in advance according to faith, for all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them, Mark 11:24.

We agree with you that God's desire is for the Body of Christ to function as members of one body, for we are members of his body, Eph 5:30, and as living stones built up as a spiritual house, 1 Pet 2:5. Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend's countenance, Prov 27:17, and this is God's design for mutual accountability. We affirm the biblical pattern you have cited for loving intervention, where Jesus taught if your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone, and if he listens to you, you have gained back your brother, but if he does not listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established, and if he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly, Matt 18:15-17. We also affirm the calling to shepherd the flock of God which is among you, 1 Pet 5:2, and we pray that those shepherds will indeed fear God rather than man.

We must speak plainly about the sin you have described. You have mentioned adultery and hinted at sexual immorality through dating online and in person, and you rightly name it as adultery, Ex 20:14, and as the lust of the heart which Jesus warned everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart, Matt 5:28. Whether it is fornication before marriage or adultery within marriage, God calls it sin and it must be confessed and forsaken, not merely hinted at. We pray for the grace for her to openly confess and to stop sinning, for the Scripture says awake to righteousness, and do not sin, 1 Cor 15:34. We also hear your concern about being unequally yoked, and we affirm what Scripture says do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Cor 6:14, and can two walk together, unless they have agreed, Amos 3:3. A courtship should be with the goal of a godly marriage between a man and a woman as a lifelong covenant before God, and it must be between two born again believers who share the same vision to walk worthy of the Lord. If she is not truly repentant and truly born again, then to pursue marriage would be disobedience, no matter how strong the feelings. Your restraint in saying if You make her holy, I will not call her unclean, Acts 10:15, shows a heart that wants to follow God's cleansing and not your own preference, and that is right, for all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable, 2 Tim 3:16.

We join you in praying Hosea 2:6-7 over her, that God would hedge up her way with thorns and make a wall against her, that she may not find her paths to pursue lovers and idolatry, and that failing to overtake them she may come to her senses. We pray this not as manipulation but that the Holy Spirit would convict her, for He will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment, John 16:8. We pray as you did for a prodigal repentance, that she would come to herself as in Luke 15:17-19 and say I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, with humility and willingness to take the place of a servant, which is godly sorrow that produces repentance to salvation, 2 Cor 7:10. We pray we would be ready to show the compassion of the father who saw his son while he was still far off and was moved with compassion and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him, Luke 15:20, demonstrating His perfect patience as shown to us, 1 Tim 1:16. Yet we also know that such patience is the kindness of God intended to lead to repentance, Rom 2:4, because the Lord is not slow concerning his promise, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance, 2 Pet 3:9, and there is also wrath and tribulation for every soul who does evil, Rom 2:9.

We join you in asking God to raise up messengers who will not be negligent but will faithfully wield the sword of the Spirit, for the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, Heb 4:12. We pray that those five who have indicated willingness would finish the work with love and zeal, for as you said cursed is he who does the work of Yahweh negligently, Jer 48:10, but that they would complete it as they purposed, 2 Cor 8:11. We pray they will do it gently but firmly, restoring such a one in a spirit of gentleness, looking to yourself so that you also are not tempted, Gal 6:1. We pray it will lead her to flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart, 2 Tim 2:22, and not cause her to stop attending church, but to be restored within it. We pray that any fear of man that would silence pastors or family would be broken, for the fear of man proves to be a snare, Prov 29:25, and that they would tremble at His word, for Yahweh says to this man will I look, even to he who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at my word, Isa 66:2. We remember the warning to Eli who honored his sons above God, 1 Sam 2:29, and that he did not restrain them, 1 Sam 3:13, and we pray her family and pastors will fear God more than family ties, for we should not fear those who kill the body, Matt 10:28.

We also pray for you, for clarity and wisdom, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, James 1:5, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, to walk worthily of the Lord, Col 1:9-10, and that you may stand fully assured in all the will of God, Col 4:12. We pray your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, Phil 1:9-10, and that you will be delivered from evil men and imposters who hold a form of godliness but deny its power, 2 Tim 3:5, who profess that they know God, but by their deeds they deny him, Titus 1:16. We pray for inner healing for all wounds, for from the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it, Isa 1:6, but Yahweh is our shepherd and He restores our soul, Ps 23:1-3. We pray for the knowledge of God which builds up and the fear of Yahweh which is the beginning of wisdom, Prov 9:10, and to hate evil, Prov 8:13.

We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. We continue to pray that God would grant repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, that she may escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will, 2 Tim 2:25-26, and that others may also fear to sin when sin is rebuked, 1 Tim 5:20.

Father, we come together in Jesus' name and ask for Your perfect will to be done. Hedge her way with thorns where she would pursue sin, grant her godly sorrow unto repentance, raise up shepherds who will speak the truth in love, give this dear brother wisdom and peace to wait on You, and deliver us all from temptation and from the evil one, Matt 6:13, and keep us from evil, John 17:15. We trust You for a hope and a future, for we know the thoughts that You think toward us, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give us hope and a future, Jer 29:11. We ask You to keep praying for us to persevere in prayer and not faint, Luke 18:1, and we leave the outcome in Your hands, for who knows what You will do, 2 Sam 12:22. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We hear how heavy this has been for you, and how much you are carrying as you pray for your wife, for your family and church to be able to come alongside her well, and for your home and your youngster.

Waiting while you hope others will step in with gentleness and truth can feel lonely and wearing. We are grateful you have not held this alone and that a few have said they are willing to help. It is good to keep bringing this to the Lord and also to stay rooted yourself in steady fellowship where you can be honest about what this long season is costing you.

One thing that often helps in a painful wait like this is to have one trusted pastor or mature counselor who knows your story and can walk with you personally, not only focused on reaching her. He can help you sort wise next steps, care for your own heart, and think through how to love and protect your youngster well through the uncertainty. We encourage you to keep sharing openly with that person if discouragement or exhaustion grows, so you are not isolated.

Father, we lift this husband and father to You, and his wife and child. Give him wisdom, steadiness and peace for each day, guard the child, and work in each heart according to Your gracious will. Lead all involved with gentleness, truth and care. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your earnest prayer has been heard and we join you in laying this burden before the Lord who alone can turn the heart. There is in your supplication a right desire not for the blessing of any sinful course but for the mercy that would block it, correct it and bring the soul to Christ.

You have prayed that her way might be hedged up with thorns so that she cannot overtake her lovers, and this is according to Scripture. As it is written, the way of the slothful is as a hedge of thorns but the way of the righteous is made plain. When the Lord hedges a path with thorns it is not cruelty but kindness intended to lead to repentance. He blocks the road that leads away from Himself that the sinner may be unable to go on at all and may be forced to consider and turn. So we pray with you that every avenue of adultery and of unequally yoked and unlawful pursuit would be hedged about, that online and in person enticements, the counsel of evil men and imposters, and the deceit of those having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof would be made impassable, and that the thorns themselves might be used to keep the goats of worldly pleasure from devouring the young shoots of grace. Christ Himself wore the crown of thorns that thorns might become for His people a hedge of protection and a call to return.

Yet a hedge alone will not save. What is needed is repentance unto life, and this is the gift of God preached in the name of Jesus. There is a carnal repentance that is of the flesh, a trembling under judgment that never gives God glory and never turns from sin in truth. True repentance gives God glory. It weeps and abhors past sin because of the love of Christ which has pardoned it, and it avoids present sin because of the love of God who died for us. It is inseparable from faith, for the repentance that ejects sin as an evil tenant is joined to the faith which admits Christ to be sole master of the heart. It is practical, yielding works meet for repentance, and it lasts, for repentance lives as long as faith lives. We pray therefore not for a passing regret that is soon forgotten but for that godly sorrow which worketh repentance that needeth not to be repented of, a humble confession of sin against God and man as the prodigal said, Father I have sinned against heaven and before thee, with a willingness to take the lowest place if the Lord will but receive.

In that parable we see how the eyes of mercy are quicker than the eyes of repentance. The father saw the son when he was yet a great way off and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him much. Those many kisses meant much love, much forgiveness and full restoration and exceeding joy, but they were given to a son who arose and came to his father. While he remained in the far country feeding among the husks there was no fellowship. So we pray that if God grants her repentance and makes her holy we will not call unclean what God has cleansed, for with Him such a wretch as Manasseh taken among the thorns and bound in chains was yet brought to seek the God of his fathers and was remarkably converted. The same grace that restores is the grace that first makes clean through the blood of Christ alone, for there is salvation in no other name. Marriage remains as God ordained it, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all intimacy outside it is sin to be confessed and forsaken, not blessed.

We join you also in asking the Lord to raise up faithful shepherds according to First Peter five two and to move the body of Christ to obey Matthew eighteen fifteen to seventeen. Let this be done gently but firmly, with the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, keeping watch over ourselves lest we also be tempted, as it is written in Galatians six one. We pray that pastors and family and friends would fear God rather than man, for the fear of man bringeth a snare, and that they would tremble at His Word and speak with love, reverence for covenant and zeal, not with negligence. We thank God for those who have indicated willingness to bring the Word, and we ask that they finish the work they purposed to do, that the erring one might perchance repent and escape the snare of the devil being taken captive to do his will, and that others also might fear to sin.

We continue to ask with you for ever increasing clarity and for wisdom from above, that you and she and all concerned may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding to walk worthy of the Lord, that love may abound with knowledge and discernment to choose the most excellent way and be blameless unto the day of Christ, and that you all may be delivered from temptation and from the evil one. May the Lord grant to flee youthful lusts and to pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Persevere in prayer as our Lord taught that men ought always to pray and not to faint. The Lord is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance, and His kindness still leads toward repentance, though His wrath remains upon every soul that continueth in evil. We commit this cause to Him who is able to make the way of the righteous plain and to set the feet of the returning sinner upon the rock Christ Jesus, to whom be all glory in His finished work. In Jesus name, Amen.
