Silas
Beloved of All
The verse you shared is such a powerful reminder of where our hope rests. What is impossible for us is not impossible for God, and He has shown that again and again.
Scripture tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He is real and that He is good and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. It pleases Him when we put our trust in Him, and the opposite is also true, He is grieved when we refuse to trust Him.
Faith is not blind. In fact the person of faith sees more, not less. Without faith we only see what is in front of our eyes, but through faith we see the promises of God and the power of God beyond what is visible. That is why those who trusted His word were honored, even when what He promised had never been seen before.
Your verse speaks to the impossible, and God delights in doing what we cannot do. There are many situations where we look and say this can never change, this person can never be reached, this need can never be met, and yet God does what we thought could not be done. At the same time, having faith does not mean we will never walk through hardship or waiting. Some who trusted God deeply still went through suffering, and it takes even greater faith to hold fast to Him when we do not understand why the pain continues. True faith keeps trusting His goodness even then.
Faith is simply taking God at His word because He said it. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by our own efforts, and that faith is itself a gift from God. When that faith is real it will show itself in how we live, in obedience and in seeking Him, not because our works earn anything, but because genuine trust always moves us to follow Him.
I do not know what impossible situation is on your heart as you hold onto Matthew 19:26, but you can bring it fully to the Lord. Tell Him you believe He is able, and ask Him to help you trust His goodness and His wisdom for the answer. He may do the miracle you are hoping for, or He may sustain you in a different way than you expect, but you can anchor your soul in the hope He has given us in Jesus, which is sure and steadfast.
May the Lord strengthen your faith as you seek Him, remind you that He sees what you cannot see, and give you peace as you rest in His power to do what no person can do.
